Akane couldn't stop smiling. This was her first sleepover ever, and so far everything was going well. Manta Carlos was wonderful. She was getting proper training with her powers, saving people from bullies, and learning there were others like her regarding powers and species. It was why she had her new friend Theodora staying over at her house now. She also had emotion-related abilities, and they had so much in common. Saving the girl from that bully was one of Akane's best life decisions.

Akane's bedroom was small yet roomy enough to hold the two girls. The walls were painted a grayish purple, the carpet was a dark gray, there was a twin sized bed pushed up against the wall with dark gray covers, and there were numerous posters hung up on the wall representing Akane's favorite people, Reaper from Overwatch and Raven from Teen Titans. There was also a table that had a nice computer set up on it and a swirly chair Akane enjoyed spinning herself around on. She tried to make sure the room was clean for Theodora, but there were still some clothes and books from school littered about.

Instead of laying on her bed or sitting on her chair, Akane laid herself down on a soft pillow on the floor, nibbling on a cookie from the large plate of them Akane's mother left in her room as a snack for the girls. She then took out her journal and started flipping through pages, before looking up to Theodora and asking, "So, I've had this idea I wanted to try out for a long, long time. Ever heard of the word vigilante? Or at least superhero?"

Dora was pretty happy as well, her smile smaller only because she wasn't used to being expressive. She'd decided that maybe she wouldn't need her scarf here because Akane seemed nice, but she still felt a little weird not having it on. She'd had very few friends growing up and had never had or been to a sleepover either. She preferred to avoid being in stranger's homes and had never really wanted to expose any friends she did make to her family life.

Though Akane's room was clean, it looked much darker than Theodora's own room, as did the Japanese girl herself. But even if the other girl's fashion tastes were a little strange to the demigoddess, she still thought Akane was probably one of the nicest people ever. People saving her was something that never happened at home, so it had come as some surprise. But she really appreciated it.

Dora had taken a cookie just to be polite but wasn't sure she should eat it. It looked good and smelt good but she really was allergic to nearly everything. Or at least sensitive. The girl was easy to hurt in so many ways.

At Akane's question, she shook her head. "D-don't think I know the word vigilante. But superheroes are the men who wear tights, right?" Her new friend's charm translated words into English, but she still wasn't as good with that as Greek. Some words still confused her. And she didn't read a lot of comics. She liked to read sad stories. She'd seen some movies, but mostly she'd liked quiet things that kept her in her room away from people.

It was weird being around Theodora. Ever since Akane met her, she wanted to hurt the girl, yet their first encounter was Akane saving her from a bully. The feeling of wanting to cause Dora pain was something she could ignore, but it disturbed her how much it kept coming back, asking to be released against her new friend. Despite those thoughts, Akane had too much of Dora's trust just to ruin it entirely, and that would destroy her plans of becoming a likable vigilante.

Watching the shy girl excitedly, Akane, waited for a response, taking some more cookies in the meantime. After Dora responded, Akane held up her journal, showing some sketches of clothing and equipment she would use as a vigilante. "So you do know. They are like superheroes, but they don't work with the police. It's . . . uh . . . illegal, but in a good way. They save people using their own rules, not the rules of the police." Inside the book showed pictures of Akane's ideas for her costume. There was a skull, a hoodie that was also a combination of a long cloak, and a staff with a skull at the top. "I'm still planning out ideas, but these are all I have. I want to be one, and . . . well, you're one of my first friends here. Since you were being bullied, I thought you would like to join in too. To make sure no one gets hurt like you did. You have a great vigilante origin story."
