Getting Scrappy

"Eh, checks and balances and all that," he'd retort. If there were magical vaults out there, they would have been very well hidden. Or destroyed from carelessness. Or mistaken for something entirely different. It sounds like the start of a movie.

But he would have to agree with Marcus. If the school had something like that, they wouldn't just let anyone look at it. Why would anything be ever that easy? He couldn't help, however, but wonder how much trouble he'd get into if he ever tried to sneak a peek on something like that.

Then again, there could be something in the library, but he'd probably end up sleeping 10 minutes into the search. The peace and quiet is great over there.

Ater chuckled. "You just gotta be savvy. Humans love magic tricks, but yeah, I would have a clear advantage over you. A lot of people go crazy for the ears." As he said this, he made his fox ears flick.

"I mean you could, I'd be baffled if something like that happened if I were a human who knew nothing about our world. Bonus points if you got it to talk. Might just crap my pants in disbelief."

Seeing an open window, he waved Marcus over to it. "Let's get some air," he said. When he got to the window, he hopped up and set himself down on the sill, letting his feet hang off the edge. Looking down, he whistled. "That's really far down." He wasn't really nervous. There were a few bushes that he could fall on if he ever slipped. It'd still hurt, but better than landing on the pavement.

Marcus' reaction drew a chuckle from the kitsune. But wouldn't that be the humans' reaction? Well, the other reactions would be utter disbelief, fainting or freaking out, which were acceptably humorous alternatives.

"That high, huh?" He said, leaning over the edge to get a better look. This height was dizzying.

Before he could speak up again, Ater heard the bell ring, marking the end of a period and the start of another. With a sigh he stood up and hopped back inside. "Well, that's me. Got some classes to get to. How about you? Got something filling up this period for you?"
