Getting her office organized.

A young looking woman strode in the hospital wing as gracefully as she could. There was a huge stack of papers, books and various items oin her arms. Looking around, she searched for the office she had been given now that she was an official nurse. There was a door in the back, with her name on it.

Sighting softly, she walked towards it, all the while trying to search for her keys. Her agile fingers soon found the keys that were in her pocket. Her blue eyes locked on the door and she tried to open it without spilling her things all around her. Reaching out, she managed to open the door.

Unfortunately, she lost her balance and fell face first on the hard floor. Her Nose met an unfortunate end, breaking on contact and making a strange cracking noise. Groaning, the part vampire tried to climb to her feet, some blood falling down her face. She had succeeded in laying out her things all over the floor.

She overlooked the mess with a desperate gaze but started to gather them up again. Unknowingly, the door had started to slowly close, condemning her to open it again. She started to stash her books and various papers on top of one another, cursing her bad luck. She looked back up just in time to receive the door hard on her face.

She stumbled back, landing on her bum, once again making a mess of things. She cursed under her breath, wishing death upon all plot bunnies. She rubbed her face, some blue light seeping from her fingers. Her nose straightened back up in a sickening noise, making her wince slightly when she felt the bones taking their rightful places.

"I hate doors, I hate papers, I hate broken noses. Why does this always have to happen to me?" She said looking at the ceiling as if asking some deity or another.

The black haired teen look-alike Stood, opened the door and this time placed a caoutchouc corner under it, to prevent another incident of that kind. The poor girl had her face covered in blood, though her nose was now repaired. She picked her things, sneering at them as if it was their fault. Disgruntled, the part-vampire started to place her personal things around her new office.

Only once she was settled did she really look around. The walls were made out of two colors, the higher part being colored in a soft creamy yellow, the lower half hued in midnight blue. A strip of decorated wood separated the two. The floor was covered in blue tiles while the ceiling was a comfortable soft yellow. There was an examining table on one side and a medecine cabinet on the other.

She sat herself in the plush chair behind her large wooden desk, her feet automatically finding their place on it. The sorter in the back corner had been used to store all her things, now she could relax and her blue eyes closed, her arms sneaking behind her head to make a comfortable cushion.

The sixteen-year-old swallowed, cat ears pressed flat against her head in pain. She was so clumsy... she'd fallen down a set of stairs, and now she had really hurt her left leg. She knew that she had probably broken it, since it felt just like her wings used to when they had been broken repeatedly. Plus, there was quite a bit of blood on her leg, and she was doing her best not to get it everywhere. However, if it was dripping, it couldn't be helped. She wasn't going to stop to clean it up, there were more important things to do.

She took a deep breath, managing to walk down the hallway without moving her leg too much. She was just glad that her wings hadn't gotten injured again... oh, if her wings had gotten hurt she would have felt so bad. After all the trouble Zaine had gone through to get the bones in the right places again and held them get healed, she was glad she hadn't been as clumsy as to throw such hard work away.

And upon thinking of her fiance, Nariko sighed inwardly a bit. She hadn't seen him in a while.... and she wished he was here right now so that she didn't have to walk. She knew he gladly would have helped her. Unfortunately, though, she didn't have any friends to help her except Shadow, and he didn't remember her. She trusted no one else except for them, no one.

Amazingly, the young woman wasn't crying, either. She had learned not to do so when her wings would keep breaking. However, tears could be seen in her right eye, since her left eye was covered by her black bangs as it always was. There was no point in showing her black, blind eyes — she didn't want to seem like more of a freak than she was.

The female soon got the hospital wing, and let out a sigh of relief. Even though she was a healer, she couldn't heal her own wounds... and she really wished she could. That way, she wouldn't have had to walk all the way here to receive treatment. She wouldn't have had to have anyone touch her, either, since she knew someone would have to put the bone back in place. She loathed it when people got to close too her... she was shy and fearful, but that wasn't her fault. It was a result of events in her past, and even though she was trying to open up... well, old habits die hard, as they say.

She noticed that a lot of the offices didn't seem like anyone was there, except for one. The door was open somewhat, and she walked — more like hopped — over to it. She quickly raised a pale white, almost gray, colored hand and knocked on the door, hoping more than anything she wasn't bothering the nurse inside. She looked at the name on the door... Ilfirin? Ok.

"Excuse me?" Nariko called from outside the door. Her voice sounded like she was in pain, and she seemed a bit choked up, but it was also obvious she was dealing with the pain quite well. "Nurse.... Nurse Ilfirin? Could you um.... could you look at my leg, please? I think... I think I might have broken it..." She gulped, waiting patiently outside for the nurse to answer.

The black haired part vampire was rubbing her nose in exasperation. You wouldn't believe how bad lucked she was today, first when she had closed the door, she had stubbed her toe. Then the vampire had gotten her finger bitten by a stapler, and then she had gotten a paper cut from some official looking papers.

Then of course, she had closed the drawer on one of her other fingers, then accidentally dropped a box of erasers on her foot, then electrocuted herself on a electric pencil sharpener, there still was a slight smell of burnt flesh in the room. Then, to add worse to bad, she had knocked her head on the corner of her desk when she went to retrieve the box of erasers from the ground.

Then the black haired girl had managed somehow to drop a pencil through her hand and a part through the desk. Then she had managed to burn a finger while using some glue... Then she had crushed her hands under a big book, and then she had cut herself with a stray flying scalpel... Then an eraser attacked one of her eyes...

Result of the day, nine paper cuts, ten burns, at least two dozen bruises, a few various cuts, a few stubbed toes, crushed hands...

To say she was having a bad day would be an understatement. When she heard a knock, she grumbled slightly, it was understandable she was in a bad mood.

''Enter!'' She called.

"Excuse me? Nurse.... Nurse Ilfirin? Could you um.... could you look at my leg, please? I think... I think I might have broken it...'' A female voice said from outside her door.

That got her bolting from her seat, making her fall to the ground in a loud thumb. She quickly stood up and opened the door; it seems the part-vampire hadn't survived the fall unscathed, she had broken a toe. Cursing under her breath, she got a good look at the winged girl. Not waiting for a word from the younger girl, she ushered her inside, wrapping the avian's arm over her shoulders as to not further injure her leg.

She pushed the girl on the examination table/bed, being mindful of her wings, that didn't look full-grown yet. She looked at the slightly mangled leg, repressing any wince or emotion from her behaviour.

''How did you manage to do that missy? On second thought, I don't want to know. This might sting, a little, well, maybe a lot.'' She said being truthful. ''I am going to clean your wound, realign your bones than heal what’s left.''

She left the cleaning tools on a small table on the side of the table and got some more products out, mainly to put her to sleep while she realign her bones, which would hurt a lot. She placed them next to the cleaning tools and put on her rubber gloves, wouldn't want to pass some of her vampire blood to her patient if she happened to manipulate something wrong. They were thicker than usual ones.

''Are you allergic to any medicines or anything at all?'' she asked, unscrewing the lid of the alcohol bottle.

If only Nariko had known how horrible a day the nurse had had, she probably wouldn't have gone to her. She hated to annoy people, fearing they would take it out on her. She always did fear for the worst and expect it, it was another one of those little personality traits of hers. She heard the woman grumble an enter, and gulped, not knowing if she could do that on her own. Plus, this Ilfirin didn't sound very happy. Maybe she could come back tomorrow, she could live with a broken leg for that long. She had lived with broken wings for years.

She heard the thump, and quickly opened her mouth to ask if the nurse herself was alright, but didn't have a chance to do so. She got a little bit scared when the woman helped her into the room and onto the examination table. Alright, it was official, she didn't like it in here one bit. She wanted to get out of here, find Zaine, and have him fix her leg. She didn't want to trust this nurse, she didn't want to rely on her....

But you have to... the cat-eared girl told herself, looking at the nurse. Again, when she opened her mouth to explain how she had wounded her leg, she wasn't able to do so. As the nurse told her what she planned on doing, Nariko nodded her head, knowing this was going to be painful but knowing she would just have to deal with it.

She gulped when she saw all the things the woman was taking out, getting a bit more frightened. The rubber gloves got her nervous as well.... oh, when could she get out of here?! When?! She wanted to go find Zaine, go find Shadow, anyone as long as she wasn't in this room with this lady.

Nariko shook her head when asked if she was allergic to anything. "N... N-N-No, Miss...." the girl answered quietly, trying desperately to hide her fear and the pain in her leg but failing miserably at doing so.

The nurse didn't seem to see the amount of nervousness she was causing to her young patient, she was otherwise occupied in getting her things ready. She had taken one of the rags and was in the process of putting alcohol all over it. The part-vampire was hiding her nervousness very well herself, her hands unwavering and her gaze steady. Not that she wasn't an experienced healer, but she allways was nervous when she was about to do something as painful to her patient as to realign their limbs.

''Anything else I should know?'' She asked the avian girl. ''Now try not to scream too much, I'd hate to have to put a gag in your mouth as I can't give you any painkillers yet, all the supplies I have would speed up the bleeding... Which would be not good.''

The black haired nurse started to clean up the wound, her gentle hands trying to cause the least pain. her delicate finger would go into the wound and get the blood out of it, even if she couldn't get it all to go away since it hadn't stopped bleeding. She examined it closely, checking for shards of bones, possible cut veins and the like.

Nariko watched as the nurse put alcohol all over one of the rags, knowing quite well that this was going to hurt, and that it was going to hurt a lot. It seemed a lot different from what Zaine had done to heal her wings, though. Ah, well, she figured she shouldn't compare the two of them. She didn't notice at all that Ilfirin was nervous herself, and if she had, the poor girl would have just ran out of there. She didn't want to be treated by someone as nervous as she was, fearing they would end up doing something wrong. But if they were a school nurse, they had to be trained well, and it wasn't like she could even tell since the nurse was doing a rather good job at hiding it.

She shook her head when asked if there was anything else she needed to know. "No," she said quietly. As far as she knew, she didn't have any major health problems, which she assumed was what the nurse needed to know. When told not to scream to much, the girl almost whimpered, but nodded her head fearfully, refraining from making the noise. She had learned not to scream whenever her wings would be broken, and hadn't screamed when her wings were healed, so she was sure this wouldn't be a problem.

She took in a breath when she felt her beginning to clean her wound, and she whimpered slightly, though she had tried to hold it back. The sixteen-year-old bit the inside of her lip in an attempt to keep herself quiet, and made herself stay still so that the woman could help her.

One thought made its way through the part vampire's mind, Poor girl. She had heard the whimper, oh she couldn't have missed it. Nor could she have missed the smell of fear hanging around the girl.

Even humans could have seen, if not smelt it so overpowering it was. She might have been a diminutive vampire, but she still could feel it. Sighing softly, she let a small nearly unheard calming purr get out of her lips, one would call it a calming vibe, others simply didn't beleave something such as that could exist.

It was one of the only things she had retained from her vampiric heritage and one she was glad to have. It was a faded down version of the call, that she used for the purpose of soothing the mind of patients she cared for. It nearly allways had a sleep like effect on those she used it.

Placing some of the herbs from one of the bottles she had taken out earlier in a glass of water, the leaves dissolving quickly.

''Here, drink this, it will put you to sleep while I work on your leg.'' the nurse said handing the glass containing a now green like water.
