Getting away

Nielle wandered out onto the lawn. He'd been so busy with class, and setting up his room tpday, he felt like he deserved a break.

He went to the edge of the forest, on the far end of the lawn. He pulled out a book, and began to read it.

"Jonas strugged as he climbed the hill..."

A laugh sounded from across the lawn. Nielle sighed. He longed for a companion.

Adelina watched the boy as he read. He looked kinda lonely... and a lot older than herself... but in this school, she felt that everyone kind of needed to be friends with everyone. After all; when someone has powers, how can they tell their other, normal friends?

She walked up to the boy, and sat down right next to him. "Hi!" she said happily, and smiling as well. "I'm Adelina. What are you reading?"

Nielle practically jumped when he heard Adelina. Surely, she's not talking to me? He looked up,m and there she was.

"I, uh...I'm reading 'Jack and Jill: the real story'. It's rather funny, actually." ielle smiled at the girl, who seemed to be one of the opnly people who'd warmed up to him.

"The real story? I thought the only story was the real story... I didn't even know that the other one was a lie!" Adelina blinked for a moment... she felt a little 'betrayed' now, since there was a real story and a fake story.

She soon shook her head, and smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you," she said. "I'm guessing you're new since I haven't seen ya around before." She lit a small flame in her hand. "My power is fire... what's yours?"

Nielle shook Adelina's hand. "Nice to meet you. I can levitate and freeze time." Suddenly the world froze, and Nielle walked away.

When time started again, he watched as Adelina realized he'd demontrated his power for her.

Adriana watched the 2 people. She walked up to them. "I can't freeze time, but I can freeze the clock." she said. "All I have to do is get some water to freeze around the clock. I can controll water, and becme invisable. I'm Adriana. Whats your name?" She said talking quickly. Some people couldn't understand her when she did that, but most could.

Nielle grinned broadly at Adelina. "I'm glad you think it's so facoinating."

He turned then to Ariana, and raised an eyebrow. It was a bad joke, but he didn't comment. "I'm Nielle Sole. And this is Adelina Miler."
