So it wasn't Kiara. Alright, so Damon. It had to be Damon, because he was having a hard time imagining that Celestial could be for real. He'd definitely not been that arrogant at 18.

Alright, maybe he was a bad example - he'd pretty much been 30 years old since he was ten. Living with the mafia did that to you.

She was arrogant about the archery, arrogant about her place in the world, and too haughty for 'charity', even on an island where something like 90% of the students probably were there on scholarship. It was like the complete home run, and Angelo's sides were in stitches by the time Celestial introduced herself to Kiara. He shuffled over to the side of the room, doing his very best to not burst out laughing. He had to try and remember this. He had to burn whatever the hell Kiara was going to say into his memory.

No matter what, it was going to be good.

Kiara understood instantly what Angelo meant. Good God this child's innocent naivety was so cute. She gave her a motherly smile as she explained herself. That fanged smile concealed the laughter replaying within her mind. Being Police Commander was fun sometimes. Now she had to give her professional word on the situation. The catwoman leaned forward. Her head rested on top of her hands as she sat in her chair.

"First off, I prefer ma'am. Second off, you're a senior in high school? Third off, what skills do you have currently?"

Externally she was taking this in professional stride. Internally this was both a brief interview and clever setup for the punchline. She wanted to let the girl speak first before making her judgement. Mama Kitty remained grinning at the "potential employee" as she gazed at Angelo for a moment. She recalled her interview with him years ago. Those were some fun times. She was totally tense back then! Now she was fully relaxed and prepared to deliver a verdict.

Celestial wanted to bow whip pretty boy but she took in a deep breath and let it out. "Yes, ma'am I am in high school. And my skills are markmenship, free running and I can read people thoughts and see memories if I stay in eye contact with them. That for the memories the mind reading it would only take a glance if the person has no mental block to break. Granted I am still learning how to shut it off but I found out that a blind fold helps me with that. The other is empathy pushing emotions on someone else but that is rarely used." She said to her. "I did it to pretty boy blonde over there I mean your officer. But he the type to speak what he thinks." She said to her. She only answered questions she was asked she was pretty sure this was just to amuse herself with but celestial still took it like and actual interview.

Angelo was fairly confident that Kiara knew just what he meant. It was, all things considered, pretty dang obvious. Even if Celestial seemed to have toned it down since meeting the chief, it was still pretty plain as day that she thought highly of herself.

He startled slightly at the revelation she was reading thoughts, scowling slightly. Had she just called him 'pretty boy'? Good god, he was like, half a decade older than her. And she was practically jailbait.

"For the record, it's a pretty big ethics violation to dig around in someone's head. Same way someone with mind control couldn't just make someone confess." Digging around in people's heads might get you answers in some cases, but it might also reveal a bunch of stuff you were never supposed to know. Secret things - things that weren't illegal, but were horribly embarrassing, for example.

He'd have to avoid eye contact, even if he didn't really have much to hide.

Oh no, Angelo was right. This girl was full of herself. Thank God she was good at putting up a face, because otherwise the cat would be on the floor laughing right now. Her smile twitched uncomfortably as her golden eye scanned the girl. She detected psionic powers based on the aura that emitted from her. She tried remembering what the colors implied about her powers. As she did this, the interviewee decided to inform her about one of the powers. She was a mind reader. Ah yes, that color meant telepathy. Kiara's smile twitched even more as she revealed what she had done to Angelo.

"He is correct. That is a direct ethics violation and would get you in serious trouble as an officer."

The woman glanced down at her desk. She pulled out a blue pen and a notepad as she seemingly scribbled down notes. She broke eye contact as she did this. Her golden eye also spotted another little detail. Her memory database served her well this time; this was an emotional telepath. She seemed to have some kind of emotion-based powers mixed in with the mind reading. The interviewee's next words confirmed this. She had empathy powers. Even though she was writing down notes not in clear view of either person, she could still hold a conversation.

"So let me get this straight. You are a high school student applying for a job as an officer. Your skills are marksmanship, free running, and telepathy, one of which is unusable thanks to Code 7C 12 of the ethics code handbook. Your bow and arrow suggests that by marksmanship you mean archery when officers and criminals alike generally carry guns. You submitted absolutely no application and have no diploma, which is the minimum requirement for the base level officer position. This also means that you have failed to take the examination necessary to earn yourself an interview with me or the Chief."

She gently put the pen down on the desk and glanced at Celestial. She did not meet her eyes and instead focused on her face. This was out of precaution rather than disrespect.

"Miss Polaris, based on all of this information, you have failed to prove that you would be capable of working as an officer of the law. Yet you expect me to allow you on the force based on hearsay when everyone, including Officer Angelo here, has completed what you have not with little trouble. I admire your confidence, but as far as I'm concerned, you haven't earned it. If anything, it has hindered your ability to socialize respectfully to those who would be your co-workers. Teamwork is essential, so I wouldn't advise being so snippy with other officers."

Her tone was professional yet warm. This made her dialogue all the more blunt and sting-worthy. Commander Kaciania was at the helm.

"So why should I hire you?"

Ethic.... really what criminal has ethic or even cared about it. "I could have told you I was a normal girl with no talents at all. 8 have a blind fold for a reason after all. And there is no issue in being confident on my own ablities. To put oy up front what law breaker do you know that has ethics or gives a damn about such things? I am young l, I have a lot to learn not only on being a cop but how to use my skills to the fullest. Being young, bold and stubborn isn't a bad thing it means I have a drive to keep people safe. As well as I am teach able but I need someone to willing give me that chance. Put me through the academy, I will not only pass but excelled at it as well as high school. Hell put me on a few ride along and I will show you I wouldn't use what I have to get what I need. Most people speak with there bodies then there minds any how and it less of a headache for me. " she put her hands on the desk and lend forward. "Pair me up with anyone and if it ethical I will follow there command to the T." She said okay now she was sounding like an idiot but she had to get in some how. She had to raise to get to that lock file of who killed her family.

Angelo nearly blurted out that Celestial had called him cute. He really wasn't over that, no siree. She was a kid and apparently he was cute. He could remember being her age (it really hadn't been that long ago), and thinking that people who were just out of college were about the same age as him. Now that he was in their position, it seemed like eighteen was yeaaaaars ago.

He thought Kiara had more or less covered the points he had, although probably a bit more diplomatically. Well, that was fine. It was pretty much her job to be diplomatic.

"You could have told us you had no powers, in which case we'd have banned you from applying completely if it turned out you were lying to the police - the people you were trying to work for." Alright, now he was a bit testy. Even though he knew that almost no one (okay, maybe some people) would class him as a criminal anymore, it still stung a bit to hear her talk about his familythat way.

"Not all criminals will, but some will, and if you don't, it just means you're as bad as the worst of the criminal underbelly, doesn't it? Cops are expected to be better." He pointed out.

He'd leave the rest - about how she was absolutely going to need to graduate first - to Kiara.
