Oh no, Angelo was right. This girl was full of herself. Thank God she was good at putting up a face, because otherwise the cat would be on the floor laughing right now. Her smile twitched uncomfortably as her golden eye scanned the girl. She detected psionic powers based on the aura that emitted from her. She tried remembering what the colors implied about her powers. As she did this, the interviewee decided to inform her about one of the powers. She was a mind reader. Ah yes, that color meant telepathy. Kiara's smile twitched even more as she revealed what she had done to Angelo.
"He is correct. That is a direct ethics violation and would get you in serious trouble as an officer."
The woman glanced down at her desk. She pulled out a blue pen and a notepad as she seemingly scribbled down notes. She broke eye contact as she did this. Her golden eye also spotted another little detail. Her memory database served her well this time; this was an emotional telepath. She seemed to have some kind of emotion-based powers mixed in with the mind reading. The interviewee's next words confirmed this. She had empathy powers. Even though she was writing down notes not in clear view of either person, she could still hold a conversation.
"So let me get this straight. You are a high school student applying for a job as an officer. Your skills are marksmanship, free running, and telepathy, one of which is unusable thanks to Code 7C 12 of the ethics code handbook. Your bow and arrow suggests that by marksmanship you mean archery when officers and criminals alike generally carry guns. You submitted absolutely no application and have no diploma, which is the minimum requirement for the base level officer position. This also means that you have failed to take the examination necessary to earn yourself an interview with me or the Chief."
She gently put the pen down on the desk and glanced at Celestial. She did not meet her eyes and instead focused on her face. This was out of precaution rather than disrespect.
"Miss Polaris, based on all of this information, you have failed to prove that you would be capable of working as an officer of the law. Yet you expect me to allow you on the force based on hearsay when everyone, including Officer Angelo here, has completed what you have not with little trouble. I admire your confidence, but as far as I'm concerned, you haven't earned it. If anything, it has hindered your ability to socialize respectfully to those who would be your co-workers. Teamwork is essential, so I wouldn't advise being so snippy with other officers."
Her tone was professional yet warm. This made her dialogue all the more blunt and sting-worthy. Commander Kaciania was at the helm.
"So why should I hire you?"
