Tadashi was meant to be going to math class. He hasn't been doing very well in math ever since he came to the Island. He wasn't bad at it, and indeed he would be fine if he just put some effort into it, but he really didn't want to go to class.

The teacher had been lecturing Tadashi about falling asleep in class and assigned him double the homework as punishment. Homework that he hasn't even looked at.

So here he was, looking for a nice warm place to curl up in for a couple hours. Hopefully some place he wouldn't be found. Instead his nose twitched as he caught an unusual scent on the air. He wouldn't be able to relax until he figured out what it was. He padded forward silently on his little black paws as he snuck to investigate around the next corner.

His eyes widened as he spied the source of the scent. There was a creature a little ways down the hall that looked like a hare. It has horns? That's new. It was larger than the prey he usually stalked, but then again he wasn't really supposed to hunt within the school grounds anyway with all the shifters running around.

Tadashi was curious about the creature and decided to see if it was friendly. He crept a little closer then crouched down and leaped onto it. He didn't have his claws out and he was trying to be careful to avoid those horns.

Jacky was wandering the halls of the school herself. She had lost Sam during the movement of people going to classes. But, she knew he likely didn't go to class. She was following his scent, and it was obvious he hadn't gone to class.

That was when she picked up a particularly strange scent. She decided to creep along to follow that scent but the further she went along, the more anxious she felt. She was probably moving further from Sam.

Then she was leapt upon by something. She initially panicked and tried to brush her horns against her attacker. Not really enough to hurt them, but more as an uncomfortable feeling to get them off of her.

Tadashi pounced on the weird hare creature and nearly got an antler to the face in response. Instead he moved his head away and the horns poked him in the neck and chest. Ow, careful there, he thought and gave a small yowl as he rolled away to escape the horns.

The cat shook his head, staring at Jacky. Is it playing or fighting? Smells scared. No, not scared. More nervous.

Tadashi decided to back off and let the hare come to him. He then lowered his body into a crouch, ready to spring forward. His tail whipped behind him in his excitement

Jacky hopped away as she felt the weight come off of her body. She turned to look at her attacker to see Tadashi. Her body stiffened. She felt that this could very easily become a predator and prey situation, so she was a bit on the defensive side.

To reflect that, she lowered her head a bit so she'd be able to counter the cat if he pounced again. She didn't seem like she wanted to fight, or was being aggressive, but was rather being defensively cautious. She didn't really seem afraid, either, but still nervous.

Her nose twitched as she sniffed the air slightly. The scent from the cat was kind of peculiar, and she was still cautious about being separated from Sam. She started inching away to try and look for Sam again.

Tadashi watched with curiosity as the hare hopped away and stiffened. They were acting like prey. Despite the horns and the knowledge that he wasn't supposed to hunt in the school his instinct was to pounce again. However he shook his head and forced himself to calmly raise his body back out of the crouch.

I'm not just a cat now, he reminded himself. It had been four years since he had realized he was more than a cat and occasionally he needed to tell himself that when he was in this form. Besides, his head cocked slightly to the side as he examined the hare, they don't really seem afraid. Something more then? What they are doing in the hallways here.

Tadashi walked towards Jacky with slow, deliberate steps in an attempt to show he wasn't a threat. Easy now, if I wanted to hurt you i'd have used claws or teeth. I wonder-are you a student too? A pet? Something that escaped from a classroom?

If it weren't for the dangerous horns Tadashi might have tried to softly bump his head against Jacky. Instead he stopped just out of reach of the horns. At this point Tadashi knew whatever happened he probably was going to miss out on his chance for a nap. Math class he had decided to skip today but he needed to go to science. There was to be a test today and he couldn't afford to miss that.

Jacky watched Tadashi with caution. She hadn't seen many shifters on the island yet, so she doesn't really understand that Tadashi is actually a student. However, his slow movements did show their message and she relaxed ever so slightly.

She raised her head a bit, so Tadashi could get a little bit closer. Her nose twitched as she tried to figure out what Tadashi was, while also trying to know where Sam was. It seemed he was getting closer.

At that, Sam walked around a corner, shoulders slumped as he looked down at the ground. He very quickly saw Jacky and Tadashi. He just groaned. "Please don't tell me you've started some shit now you need to bail, Jacky?" He just sounded irritated.

Tadashi was quite happy when it seemed Jacky was relaxing a little bit. It meant that they probably wouldn't just run off. He stepped a little closer to investigate and gently tried to poke at Jacky with his paw.

The sudden arrival of a boy drew Tadashi's attention away from Jacky. He looked up at Sam with big round eyes and meowed softly. Whoops, looks like someone's angry. I'd better back off in case he gets mad at me.

He then backed up to make a little room and his form stretched and shifted until he was a white haired boy sitting on the floor. He had a white and grey striped button-down longsleeve shirt, blue jeans, dark grey shoes and light gray gloves. He was also smiling up at Sam.

"Sorry, it was my fault. I was uh... avoiding class and came to check out your friend here. We weren't gonna fight, I promise. Though they seem anxious about something." Tadashi stood up and bowed towards Sam, "Tadashi Yoshimori, sorry if I caused you any problems."

Both Sam and Jacky watched Tadashi as he changed form. As soon as he was human, both of them immediately took a single step back. Sam seemed to be the one more in shock, though, as he rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times. "But... you were a cat?"

His mouth was ever so slightly agape, until Jacky gently jabbed one of her antlers into his leg, causing him to wince and stop looking like a moron. "Uh... anyway. You haven't caused me any problems, Jacky would be the one that'd cause the problems..." He spoke quietly and was shuffling awkwardly as he looked down at the ground.

He stuck his hands in his pockets, kind of hoping that if he did that long enough the weird cat boy would leave. "I'm uh... Samuel Fowler." He did this really awkward gesture of putting his hand up like he was waving, but then he stopped halfway, leaving it just in the air for a seconds. He slowly slipped his hand back into his pocket.

"Still am. Sort of. I'm a bakeneko so I was a cat and now i'm more than that." He was completely calm and friendly and didn't seem to mind that they had backed up upon seeing him change.

While waiting for that to sink in, and for Sam to regain the use of his jaw, Tadashi stood up so that he wouldn't be staring up at Sam from the floor any longer. "Jacky is it? Hello there Jacky, sorry if I startled you." He gave a little wave towards Jacky before returning his attention to Sam. Although Sam wasn't making eye contact, Tadashi was looking at his face as best he could.

Despite the less than enthusiastic introduction, Tadashi was still happy to meet Sam. He bowed politely, "Tadashi Yoshimori, its nice to meet you Samuel." He wasn't really sure why the boy was just standing there with his hands in his pockets, but he couldn't blame people for being weird.

Maybe he just has cold hands

"So, uh.... you skipping classes right now too?"

Sam continued awkwardly shuffling and occasionally looked over his shoulder. He then looked back at Tadashi, looking up a bit more for once. "Uh, you can just call me Sam." He muttered. He kicked his foot into the ground a couple times for the sake of fidgeting.

Upon speaking more to her, Jacky's ears perked up. She hopped a bit closer to Tadashi and curiously sniffed him. She then gently rubbed her head against his leg, careful to not jab him with her antlers, as if asking for attention. This only got a deep sigh out of Sam.

Then he slowly shrugged as he looked down at the ground. "...Maybe." It sounded like he didn't fully trust Tadashi, like Tadashi would tell on him. However, he really couldn't hide the obvious lie in his voice.
