Steel grinned, his emotionless grin as she clashed her weapon with his, he then pulled back, and watched as she got a dagger. "So it seems." He mumbled, throwing himself forward, and slashing his sword in a down-ward slash at her left side again, and then he quickly pulled his sword up, and slashed at her again, only on her right side now, and he kept the dagger close, ready to defend and to attack.

'I don't doubt that you can fight, you've led me here, without having to use eyes, so, why would I doubt that, but I shall tell you when,' she said, and her thoughts swam for a moment, trying to figure out when they should make their move. She watched as Steel and Lex fought, her heart pounded in her chest, she was afraid, but it didn't show anywhere as she watched. She looked at the body of her brother. He lay still, and she wanted to go help him, and get him out of there.

Eben was down, low towards the ground, out of view, as he watched. He glanced over towards where Tear was, but he didn't see her, he was only making sure he was still alright, then he looked to where Heart was, though, he didn't see her either, but then he noticed a torch glance off something metal, it was Heart's quarter staff.

Heart was silent, creeping over to where she was to take a position at, waiting for a signal from Eben, then she will make her move. She was the closest to Trephas, and that was what she wanted to do, she wanted to get over to Trephas, and try to not be seen, but there were many men, who were standing around trying to get the weapons that had fallen from their horses who have ran away, some even ran to chase the horses.

Steel continued to throw attacks at her, not wavering once, and not ever leaving a spot open, he was letting her block his attacks, to see how well she was.

'Lex, and the boy are fighting, they seem concentrated on that, I think I or we, could try getting Trephas out of there, but we will have to fight the other men to get through,' Tear said, her thoughts swimming with thoughts of what to do.

She blocked his attacks with ease, eyes collecting everything quickly. It was as though her mind was accelerated with the new kinetic energy she was stealing. The runes along her body continued to grow, and one by one, she was dropping his backup. Then, in one quick, smoothe motion, she blocked his attack, slid under his sword, and hit him across the back of his head with the back of her hand, which was fortified by the handle of the dagger. Then, in another lightning quick move, she was between him and Trephas once again.

Kane dipped his head in acknowledgement. 'Lex is weakening those along the outer circle. Soon most of them will be unconcious. They don't have enough kinetic energy to keep them going.' he watched the battle through Lex's eyes. 'Now would be as good a time as any.' his mental voice was still calm and peaceful, not betraying any of his thoughts.

Steel, when he was hit, a struck to the head, he was dazed for a moment, which was less then ten seconds, and then he wheeled back, putting a small distance between Lex and himself. He glared at her.

"I think I'm done playing this little game, aren't you?" He said, in a calm steady voice, his emotionless self returning. His yellow eyes seemed to fade, and became a dark blood red. The clouds that swirled in the sky seemed to rip out of the sky, and then went down, it looked almost like water, flowing down towards Steel, and wrapped him in it.

The clouds swirled around him for a long while, but then it expanded, surrounding Lex and him, in a wide circled, and Trephas also was in the circle of clouds. When Steel was seen finally through the fog of the clouds, anger burned in his eyes. His long fingers gripped the handles of his blades.

Every now and then in the cloud, lightning erupted, sending bolts around Lex and himself. He leaped forward, his blades flashing as he sent attacks from every direction, and he never stopped to take a break. The fog of the cloud didn't even bug him. His eyes glowed as he attacked.

Heart watched what happened her eyes wide with fear, and she gasped slightly but then bit her tongue, keeping herself quiet. Most of the men around, that had fallen off their horses were running away in the forest, but she stayed hidden not wanting to get in a fight, she just wanted to help her cousin.

Eben stayed there, watching, his eyes still dull. He looked at the still body of his cousin. He was tempted to go into the fog, and sneak over to his cousin, and get him out of there, but then there was the chance of being seen by Steel. He readied himself to make a move, but before he could a angry like voice spoke behind him, and his body tensed.

"Not planning to help him, are you?" Said the voice, and when Eben turned around, he wasn't surprised to see Fury there, on top of his horse, his sword out, with fresh blood on it. Eben stared at the sword for a long time, and Fury let out a small laugh. "Pathetic men of that boy came after me, I had to do something about them, I wasn't going to let them catch me again!" Fury said, smiling evilly.

"Fury, you have to help them, if your so wonderful with that sword, then go help the girl." Eben told Fury, and for once, Eben's eyes looked angry.

"She can handle herself." Fury responded, looking at the still figure of Trephas, and he grinned slightly then turned to Eben. "I see no point in helping."

"Trephas is your brother, Fury, you could at least help him!" Eben said is voice raised.

"No need to shout, dear cousin." Fury said in a smooth voice, that made Eben shiver slightly.

Tear stood there watching and waiting, silently. She watched as the cloud, which seemed like fog, came down and surrounded them, and she grinned slightly. She took a step forward, wanting to run out there and help her twin, but then she remembered what Kane had said, and she stayed still for a moment, and glanced back at him, but she couldn't help it but take another step forward, but as she did, she had stepped on a twig, and it snapped.

Malice who was still there, but who looked a little tired, after being thrown off by his horse, but he was still there, leaning on a tree, watching the fight, but when he heard the twig snap, he looked back, and saw Tear and Kane. His eyes flared up with anger, and a grin went across is face, and he started walking towards them, and he drew a dagger that had been in his boot.

He then charged up, and stabbed at Tear, but she easily dodged, but tripped as she did.

Silent, was what Kane was. Always silent. As Tear tripped, and Malice's attention was drawn to her, Kane slipped behind the man, scarf catching him and, covering his mouth, dragged him back. The blades, covered in a substance that only Kane was immune to, did their job quickly, and Kane dropped an either unconcious, or dead Malice on the ground silently. Just as silently, he stepped forward, and offered his hand to Tear, as though he could see her.

Lex wasn't frightened. It was simple really. He may be immune to her telekinesis, but his attacks were not. They did not reach within her bubble of telekinesis. She acted bored. "This is stupid. You're not going to hit me with these attacks," she stated, her voice firm, still solid with anger.

Kane frowned. The ones who could see were going to have a problem with this fog. It didn't bother him, because he lived in an eternal fog. A slight bit of fear for Lex's safety bit into him. He didn't want to stand by any more. 'We have to move.' he stated in his mind to Eben, Heart, and Tear. His mental voice was grim. He didn't like the feel of the fourth mind near Eben. It was malicious. He was going to have to search that one out.

Tear watched Kane kill Malice, well, he looked dead. Her eyes were wide with fear for a moment then it left, and a bit of anger crept into her eyes as she turned to look at the fog. She couldn't see Trephas through it.

Steel smiled, and his eyes glowed brightly.

"No, I won't, but that doesn't matter." He said in a smooth voice. "But the longer you take fighting me, the faster the Bane's life fades away... How much longer do you think he can hold on for?"

"Well then, Fury, if your not going to help us then go away! Go back to the academy and leave us to this! I do not have time for this argument." Eben said in a stern voice, and Fury just smiled evilly. Eben turned around, he heard the voice in his head from Kane, and he ready himself to go into the fog, as she took a step forward, the tip of a blade was resting in the middle of his back.

Eben halted, staying still, knowing that if he moved forward, Fury would stab.

"Your forgetting one thing, cousin... I have time for this argument." Fury said, his eyes shining insanely.

Eben turned around to quickly for Fury to move. Eben's sword rested in his hand. He moved the blade swiftly, slashing Fury's sword away with a loud clang.

"Go away, Fury, before I start recalling what you have been through, and I'll just tell everyone your dark secret, and what you did to your own brother!" Eben said angrily, his voice full of anger. He glared at Fury, who sat there, very still. Quickly, Fury turned his horse around and galloped off. Eben turned around and charged off into the fog, his sword ready.

Heart stood there a moment, then when she heard Kane, she started moving forward, silent, but quickly, and soon she was running, into the fog, her eyes quickly looking around. Her quarter staff resting in her hands.

"Are you sure you want to stop playing?" Steel asked. "Oh well, I had just about enough of you. How would you rather die? Slow, or fast? You may choose your death." He said, a smile over his emotionless face.

Heart started walking forward, her footsteps quiet, and this time she stayed quiet. She went into the fog, and saw Trephas' body, but she made no move to ran forward, her eyes were shifting to Lex, and Steel, who was staring cruelly at Lex

Lex felt the rage surge through her veins as she watched Steel, her breath becoming slower, more calculated. Her eyes turned cold, dark and almost evil. She hated this boy with a passion. She reached for his mind with hers, and penetrated. She wrapped her mind around his, and began to tighten it, which would feel like cold fingers strangling his mind.

The runes glowed brightly. "I." she drew kinetic energy from him, the runes surged brighter, "Am." again, she did the same thing, "Not." she drew harder, pulling the energy from his feet so that he couldn't move forward, and causing him to fall to the ground, "Afraid." she drew harder, ignoring the searing pain shooting up and down her own limbs.

She continued to draw at his Kinetic reserves with all her might, ignoring the pain that was growing all over her body.

Steel gasped, pain very clear in his eyes. His smile was long gone, and is face was twisted with anger and pain. He fell to his knees, griping at his head. He was mumbling, wanting it to stop.

"Stop..." He mumbled in pain. "...Leave my mind alone..." He said again a bit louder. His head raised slightly, but he dropped it again, the pain searing through his mind. The fog that once surrounded them seemed to disappear, the clear night once again normal.

Steel looked around a moment, though the pain was strong. He saw Eben, charging forward, and Heart also running forward, and then Tear coming forward at a slower pace, and then Kane. He glared at them angrily then his eyes looked at Lex's, staring into hers.

"You will be..." He gasped, pain in his voice, but he forced himself to stand, his legs were shaking, but his gaze was steady. He raised his hand, it reached out towards Lex's, then he swiped it aside, in a smooth motion, and Lex would feel something large hit against her, hitting her aside.

As his hand returned to his side, he slumped to the ground onto his knees. He stayed there a moment, looking at the people around him, then he smiled, his smile full of menace. Then he fell to the ground, and as he did, a black mist floated from the body, and off through the forest, at a very fast speed.

The rest of Steel's men were running away, while their horses also ran away, most of the men didn't notice that their leader was dead, they just didn't care at the moment, the only thing they thought about was escape.

As she stole the last of the kinetic energy from him, and as she was thrown to the ground, she screamed a scream of pain, the runes glowing violently, before fading, leaving behind angry red scars where they had been. She was vaguely aware of Kane rushing over to her and picking her up, cuddling her and telling her he was sorry. And then she drifted into unconciousness.

Kane looked at the boy on the ground beside them, cradling his unconcious sister in his arms. He frowned. She felt so light and frail beneath his arms. And her mind had reached it's limit with all the kinetic energy she'd harbored. He could feel it. He closed his eyes, and spoke quietly, breaking the silence. "Is Trephas alive? I can't tell." he asked aloud, not looking at anyone, holding his sister so that she wouldn't be hurt in her unconciousness.

Tear, when Steel had dead, as it seemed, she rushed over to Trephas' side, and knelt down beside him, and checked for his pulse. It was light, and it was hardly noticeable, but he was alive. "His alive." Tear said smiled weakly, and she stroked her twins hair. She signaled to Hear,t and the young girl came trotting to her cousins side.

"We have to get them to the hospital wing." Tear said then looked up at Eben, was was kneeling next to the boy who Steel was in.

"He's alive. Dying it seems, but alive." Eben said in a very calm voice, that slightly annoyed Tear.

"Alive! How can he be alive?!" She said angrily, glaring at Eben.

"I don't know. I have no idea how strong Lex's powers were." He looked up, as if reminded by something, and he looked at Lex who was in Kane's arms, then he turned his gaze to the limp fifteen year old boy, whose eyes suddenly opened, but the glow in them weakened. The boy opened his mouth several times, as if going to speak, but ended up coughing.

"Heart, get this boy, and we'll take him to the hospital wing." Eben said, but Heart stood there, then got the boy throwing his arm over her shoulders, then Heart stood there, waiting, while Eben went and helped Tear get Trephas.

"How is Lex?" Tear asked, looking over at Lex.

Kane frowned. "I don't know what her mutation did to her, but it's certainly not good." he said, standing, lifting his sister with no apparent difficulty.

TIME JUMP!!!

Lex opened her eyes, her vision blurred from being unconcious for so long. She took a breath, and involuntarily whimpered. Her entire body hurt. She didn't know how long she'd been out, and she tried to stir, but found that that hurt as well.

She remained still for a moment, before sitting bolt upright, ignoring the pain that shot through her body. She gasped at the pain, but uttered one word. "Trephas.." she glanced down at her arms, and was shocked to see pencil thin scars trailing from the X on her hand. The scars were obviously new, barely healed, and still a slight pink color.

Her mind was foggy, as though it had overloaded, and just refused to work. She couldn't remember much of what had happened. She couldn't even really tell where the line was drawn. But she certainly didn't remember why she had scars all over her body. Tears sprang into her eyes as she remembered one thing. "Please don't be dead.." she whispered, closing her eyes and slumping in her sitting position.
