"If you don't let us, then, we will take matters into our hands, and dispose of what we can." He said calmly, his gaze continued to stare, but he looked sometimes at his group, but they made no move to do anything.

"Why don't you think of what that Bane wants. Maybe he wants to join his family and go home, have you ever thought of that?" Said a man who was on a horse around them. His horse was all brown, and himself wore a black cloak, and a crossbow was in his hands, with a bolt already in it, ready to fire, but he made no move to do so.

"Quiet, Malice, you speak out of term." A woman said, on a white steed. Herself wore a simple blue cloak, and she looked young, only in her early twenties.

"Quiet all of you." Their leader said, and he took a few steps forward, gaining on Lex, but he stopped and seemed to feel the bubble, he arrowed his eyes slightly when the horses reared, but he just shot his people an a emotionless gaze, and the group tried to keep their horses under control.

"Hand over, the Bane boy, now! Or I, or my men, will not care if we harm you. All we need is that boy, so he can be sent back to the right time where he belongs! And once he is back there, he will be able to enjoy the rest of his life instead of being with you!" He just shouted, but still, there was no anger in his voice or features, he was like a rock, only his voice raised.

Tear followed Kane, though, she was anxious to just run all the way, but she was going to stay close to him like he said. When he talked into her head, she stopped suddenly, but then continued to walk, but almost in a slower pace for a while before running to catch up with him.

'Uh, so you can hear my thoughts then, correct?' She asked, thinking it in her thoughts. He was telepathic? She didn't know if it was a good thing or not. 'And, who is your sister?'

Kane heard the yell, and frowned. 'Completely. Silent.' he projected to Tear, then shifted over to Lex. 'I'm here.' he said in his sister's mind. 'What do you want me to do?'

Lex's face remained the epitome of anger, but inside, she smiled. she told her brother, and then she called on her hidden tear'Find Trephas' concient mind, and talk to him.'s. They started streaming down her face, and her chin quivered. Her voice took on a weak, depressed, girlish tone, "Just..please..let me think for a moment..." she begged, almost blubbering. The tears were real, as was the fear she let into her voice, and thus, the acting was all the more real. She just hoped they would take the bait and stall for time.

Kane reached out, and found Trephas' mind. He poked it. 'Trephas. This is Lex's brother. Can you hear me?'

The boy looked at Lex. She wanted him to wait for a moment. He took another few steps closer, and he was almost close enough he could reach out his hand and touch her, but he just stood there, and he glanced at his group again.

"If there is one thing we know, it is not to give the enemy, any moment to plot." He said, and his men around them, lifted their weapons. "Give us the boy, and you can go and not get hurt!" He said.

Tear followed silently.

Trephas' eyes fluttered slightly, but he didn't wake up. His breathing was the same, shallow. He tried to hold on, but he didn't want to, but then, he didn't want to leave, not to leave Lex, or his family who still lived. Something surprised him, even if he was unconcious, his mind was still open, but weak.

He heard something inside his head, and again he eyes fluttered for a moment, then went still. 'What? Whats happening?' He said in his mind, though, it seemed weak and faint.

She didn't stop the tears, because now that she'd let them loose, she couldn't, but she remained strong. The thick white scar on Lex's hand pulsed a violent, glowing blue, and for a split second, glowing blue runes appeared up her bare arms. But they disappeared as quickly as they'd appeared. "What makes you think you can harm me?" she asked him with a sneer, jumping back to put a large amount of space between him and her. The scar glowed blue again for a moment as she sent out yet another, stronger pulse.

'The man who took your family is after you. Lex is protecting you singlehandedly right now.' Kane paused 'This kid says that he's sending you back to where you belong..whatever that means.., and you and I both know that Lex won't make any decision without knowing what you want.' he raised an eyebrow at Lex's pulsing scar, but said nothing of it to Trephas. 'This is tearing her appart. Make a decision. I know she'll listen.' he advised, his mental voice as calm and peaceful as his outward voice.

The boy smiled, but before he could say something, Malice spoke up again.

"Steel, come on, this is taking longer then it should, lets just grab the boy and get out of here." He said in a impathient tone, his horse also seemed to be annoyed.

The leader, who Malice called Steel, glared at Malice, and the man seemed to flinced.

"You will be quiet until I say you may speak." He said angrily, then he turned to the girl as she jumped back. He laughed his emotionless laugh, and continued to stare at the girl.

"What makes you think I can't?" He asked, a smirk on his face.

'Home! He will send us home..........' His mind said, but then it went quiet, and still. 'No, he won't send us back..... I don't want to go with those people, they will only... get what they want, and I can't let them have them win... tell her to hold on, try to hold them off as long as she can, the leader will probably try attacking, but she will have to fight back to hold him off... Malice has a sword, on his horses saddle, I know because he nearly caught me, she could use the weapon to defend herself, and you, if your telepathic then call Eben, and Heart, they will help' he said in his head, but then he was quite silent.

Kane smirked. 'Will do Trephas. Rest easy, and hold on.' he removed his mind from Trephas, and moved into Lex, 'He says he doesn't want to go. To fight, and hang on. Also, there's a sword in Malice's horse's saddle. Use that if it gets tough, because you're gonna have to fight the shrimp.'

That was the straw she needed. She smirked cooly at 'Steel' and flicked her eyes to Malice for a moment. She said nothing, but looked again at 'Steel' when he asked her what made her think he wouldn't. "It's simple, really.." her scar glowed violently blue for a moment, and then the blue runes pulsed up her arm like wild fire, covering her entire body in a matter of seconds, "You see, the trouble with mutants is, when you put us under stress, we don't crumble," several people fell off of their horses, and were trying to get up without succeeding, their kinetic energy draining fast, the blue glowed brighter, "We mutate." she opened her hands, and the trees cracked, shedding heavy branches with the force of her pulse.

Kane watched in awe at his sister's mutation, but still sent out a call to Eben and Heart, 'Trephas needs you.' he sent a picture of where they were, and how to get there, 'And come silently. The element of surprise is greatly needed.'

Steel let out a laugh, and a grin went over his face, and there was actually emotion, but he didn't seem to notice. He watched as his people fall off their horse, but he made no move to do anything, he looked back at Lex, a grin still on his face. His eyes shined with a new evil, and soon, a dark aura surrounded him, and wind blew around him.

"So it seems." He said simply, then he made a strange sign with his hands, and a sword seem to appear in his left hand, and in his right hand, a dagger appeared. They were long slender blades, and very sharp. Fire glinted off the blade, from a torch one of the men held.

The sky filled with clouds, dark but no rain fell. They swirled around. The dark aura was still around Steel, and he smiled, an evil smile. He took a few steps forward, and then with the hand that held the dagger, he made a signal to to the men and women, who were still on their horses, and they raised their crossbows, and guns, and then they all at the same time, shot their weapons, loud bangs were heard, and as they shot, Steel strode forward, his weapons raised.

Eben shot up in bed, his eyes wide when he heard a voice or something in his head. Trephas was in trouble, and a vision of where they were. He quickly got up, and went to a dresser, and got dressed, and found a couple swords he had, and strapped them to a belt, then he ran off, out into the hall and down the stairs, as he passed a corner and passed the lounge, Heart jumped out, and fear was in her eyes.

"Eben! We have to help Trephas!" She said in a fearful voice. She was wearing her normal clothing, but strapped to her back was a fighting staff, metal at each end.

"Come on." He said to Heart, his cousin, and then they both bolted off, and outside, and as they ran, they made no sound, it was a thing they were taught, they were even taught to run in a dry forest without making a sound. They ran through the forest, and when they got there, they were standing behind Kane and Tear, both out of breath, but they were still quiet. Eben looked up, and saw what was going on. He glanced at Heart and smiled, and Heart smiled back, and they both gave each other signals, but to anyone else it would mean nothing, except Tear knew.

Eben then slipped off into the darkness, moving around to get in behind, and Heart went the other way, as quiet as a deer, or quieter.

Lex smirked when the weapons fired, and she stretched out a hand, Malice's sword flying from it's sheath to her hand in a split second, making a 'shing' noise as it flew through the air. She caught it, and moved, all of the projectiles frozen in the air. Her runes glowed brighter as more fell from their horses, her mind stealing their kinetic energy. The sword was in her hands now, and she crouched, prepared to fight. Without a word, or a movement, she wrenched all of the weapons from all who opposed, but Steel, and sent gun and bow alike against trees, shattering them with the force of the blow.

Lex was not going to attack first. She would block until she got a feel for his moves. Self defense was madatory at her old school. She just learned to do with with any weapon presented to her.

Kane was watching with a smirk. Yes, his little sister was very brave. 'Tear..What are they doing?' he asked, as the two had come, and then disappeared. He hadn't heard their thoughts, and it unnerved him just a little bit.

Steel continued to watch Lex, knowing every movement, but he didn't care what happened to his people. Malice fell off his horse, and then the horse spooked, and jumped into a gallop, and off into the woods. Steel strode closer, but then side stepped around, circling Lex. She hadn't gotten shot, but she still had to fight Steel, who was immune to telekinesis, but what her other power was, slightly confused him, but he made nothing to show it.

"You know not to attack first. Your smarter then you looked." He said with a smirk, and he raised his sword, and jumped forward, slashing down-wards on her left side, but he kept his dagger close to defend himself when need be.

Tear looked at Kane as he spoke, though, she did not reply right away. 'They went around, hoping for a surprise attack, but they will not attack in less they don't see an opening, but if they see anyone coming their way, they will attack, but they are mostly just wanting to help get Trephas and Lex out of their, because, we know how hard this boy is, after all, Eben can see the boys past, though, only slightly, but it doesn't matter what they do, it only matters if they succeed,' she said in her head.

Eben moved around, very quiet, and he was not being seen, even if he wore white clothing. His eyes watched, as Steel moved, and what Lex did, and he took everything in, and he also tried keeping his powers from working right now, not wanting to fall into that state.

Her telekinesis flowed through her, strengthening her, and she met his sword hard, making a loud clash. With what seemed like a simply twist of her wrist, she slid his sword off of hers. The runes flickered on her skin like flames, and flared bright once again as yet another fell off of their horse. She stepped back, watching him, eyes dark like a stalking cat. She reached out with her mind, feeling for a dagger, and when she found one, held out her hand to it, the sharp steel ringing through the air, and into her hand. "There. We're even." she said levelly, her voice cool, calm, and collected.

Kane nodded, knowing she could see him even if he couldn't see her. 'Ok. Tell me when to go. Just because I'm blind doesn't mean I can't fight.'
