Zippo glared for a moment, then cured up and went back to sleeping.
Laetus poured a lot of marshmallows onto the other cup as well. When he was done, he tapped her hand lightly to get her to let go. When she did, he would turn with the cups in hand, and give her a light peck on the nose before heading back to the couch.

((I want that one too XD I should invest in one, but I don't drink coffee and I don't have other hot drinks often enough to warrant it.))

Bandit blinked, then yipped at the drake before returning to investigating this new place. He did not like that little lizard.

Maddie reeled back at the kiss, giggling and turned on her heel to follow him closely into the living room. Laetus' home was starting to feel real cozy to her.

She plopped down beside him.

"Hey, this is kind of like a sleepover! I've never done a sleepover before."

((Coffee is love....coffee is life. I drink coffee... too much lol))

Zippo cared not about any of this. Sleep is good, dog is bad for sleep. Destroy when not sleeping. Zzzz
Laetus handed her the heart mug, then put his mug down so he could bring the blanket around them. "Well, I'm glad I could share this special moment with you." He said with a smile, giving her another kiss on the cheek. He then picked his mug back up, taking that first sip before settling into his seat.

((I really can't stand the bitter junk myself. I only like it when I drown it in caramel. Ironically, I work at starbucks. Makes it difficult when people want suggestions XP))

Maddie took her mug and blew on it so she could take a small sip. She smiled gently, before setting it down as carefully as she could. Maddie turned to Laetus.

"Close your eyes, Kiwi," she commanded not-so-firmly.

The television had returned to murder mysteries, these about killer women. Kind of eerie background noise.

"Huh?" Laetus shrugged and put down his mug. She had so maybe he should too. He then smiled at her and closed his eyes as instructed. The tv was a blur of noise to him at the moment, so if this was the universe's warning, they would need to try harder.

Maddie scooted closer to him. He could feel her body heat as she leaned closer and took hold of his face.

Her lips brushed across his, very gently, almost more friendly than romantic.

Laetus' face lit up. It really was a different feeling on the other end of this. His heart picking up pace, he moved his arms gently around her and leaned slowly into the kiss. As he brought her closer to him, she may even feel his heart thumping.

Maddie hesitated when he wrapped his arms around her, but soon she turned her head barely to the right to help deepen the kiss. Her moves were still uncertain, but at least, she was able to move when they kissed now.

She rested one of her hands on his chest, right above his heart. She thought it felt very in sync with her own.

And then Maddie's mind ran. How long was someone supposed to kiss for? Did kissing get old to someone? Was she a bad kisser?

How long? Such moments broke time and defied logic. Could have been seconds, a minute, 3 days? Maybe not that last one. Point being eventually their lips would separate, and time would decide its place in things later!
When Laetus finally brought his lips from hers, he would open his eyes and press his forehead to hers. His cheeks were bright red and he was smiling at her, still holding her as close as she would allow. He seemed to want to say something but couldn't bring words from his lips. As corny and cliche as it was, she had quite literally taken his breath away.

The kiss was innocent enough, but Maddie was struggling to say anything either. She was both very happy and very sad that it had ended. She didn't try to move away from him, just stared into his eyes, her cheeks bright red.

As if on cue, the television announced the murderer and Maddie said, "I knew it would be Veronica. She has dead eyes."

She said this seriously, but there was a twinkle of laughter in her eyes.
