Private Fool Me Twice

For a school as big as Starlight Academy, it wasn't all that difficult to find specific people. When the person you wanted to find lived in the school dorms it was all a matter of waiting. If Jae waited long enough in the Student Lounge, he was bound to catch sight of James. All the waiting gave Jae plenty of time to think, and the irony of the situation was not lost on him.

His patience paid off, as he caught sight of James entering the lounge. Jae hardly waited a moment before getting up and making his approach. "Hey, James." A simple greeting, as it was the first time they've been face to face since. . . Jae's face had mostly healed. Though the majory of the burn marks had healed, it lingered in several places. It wasn't unattractive, however, as his supernatural beauty wouldn't allow for it. "Um, how you doing?"

It was hard to not make a face when James tried to hide after Jae first called out to him. It wasn't the time and honestly he would (and have) done the same. Jae also thought he heard James swear but did not acknowledge it at all. "I've been okay, slammed with studying and practice for theater club. I thought I might walk with you to your dorm room."

Once more, the irony was not lost to him.

Why was Jae being nice still? "Because we're friends, aren't we?" Jae stated bluntly. "And friends support each other and I think you need a lot of that right now." He of all people should understand what James was going through. It was awful, having powers that only hurt others. "Let's talk, because I'm not about to abandon you." James did this for him, and now it was his turn to return the favor.

Jae shrugged, "Nope," and followed after James towards the dorms. "An explanation would be nice. . . I'm not going to force you to, but, yeah, it would be nice." Jae answered honestly. He had an inkling of why James reacted the way he did. Turns out you get a lot of time to think when bed-bound for a day.

"It might help." Jae said, to be supportive of Jame's choice. Once in Jame's dorm room, Jae took a seat on the bad and made himself comfortable as told. He tried to not look to expectant as he waited for James to start. Jae didn't want James to feel like he had to start talking right away. So Jae waited, ready for whenever James was ready to talk.
