It had been almost a month since the surprise midnight attack on the Manta Carlos Sanguine Society by the hate group, Citizens Against Evil. And although the graffiti that stained the building's outer walls had been scrubbed away weeks ago, the smashed stained windows replaced by a generous anonymous benefactor, and the crosses taken away by the police as evidence; there was still a general sense of unease in the air.

In fact, Natasha had never really experienced before then such open hatred towards vampires that she had spent the next few days beside herself with worry and fear. Thankfully, over the weeks following the odious attack, she had had the unyielding support of people such as Pietro Popov and Chloe Black, among others in the community.

So when the slow trickle of hate mail started up again days afterward, she had been prepared for it and started filing the messages away instead of throwing them away as she had done previously, all with the intention of passing that, along with a few other things, to the police when they came back to do a follow up as promised by one of the officers attending that fateful evening.

Small waves of fatigue hit Vatar like the tides of the beach. From an early morning to a quick breakfast his body was patiently adjusting to being awake after last night's paperwork. In the small amount of time, he'd been a patrol officer he had already dealt with enough reports to realize why the higher-ups were eager to pass it down the rankings to the fresh-faced officers entering the department. The level of severity of each report was usually on the lower end, shoplifting, littering, arguments turned sour. It was stuff like this that his days were filled with, but today would be different.

Vatar furrowed his brows as his grip on the steering wheel of the patrol car tightened. It had been around a month ago but he still could remember how distraught the people of MCSS had been over the blatant attack on their mere existence. Everyday people just trying to live their lives in what had to be the most diverse place to exist shouldn't have to deal with that kind of idiocracy when they have the chance for a better life.

"Alright there Goldilocks?"
Vatar's Seargent rode quietly in the passenger seat until then musing over his own set of thoughts.

" I'm fine just remembering I have to go pay the rent tomorrow."

"If that's the face paying rent gives you I'd hate to see you doing taxes." Seargent auspex laughed at his own quip as usual and went back to staring out the window.

"You told Ms. Lockwood, we were coming?" Vatar said as he made one last turn to the front of the MCSS building it far cleaner than its previous assaulted state and gleamed from all the new windows placed in.

"No, I'm sure she or someone should be here, however," said Sergeant Auspex hopping out the vehicle once it came to a seamless stop.

"I'm guessing I'm doing the talking?" Vatar asked.

"All you rookie." Auspex followed behind Vatar as they entered the building.

He marveled at the cleanliness of the inside as well. He hadn't had the time or reason to see the building before the attack so seeing everything in its right place was rather nice.

"Ms.Lockwood its officer Tor from the MCPD are you here?" He elevated his voice unaware if she could even hear him. If after a few seconds a reply wasn't heard they would go about asking anyone around if they'd seen her.

Natasha was just checking in a few cases of neo-blood for her vegan, no-harm ethical vampires. All the components of blood but not from any living organism. Natasha had tried the substitute, it was not bad. Although, she preferred the real stuff or proto-synthetic blood when the other wasn't available.

"Over here," she called out as she signed off on the shipment, handing the clipboard back to the delivery person.

"I'm Natasha Lockwood," she said as she approached the officer. "Can I help you with something?" she enquired politely.

Vatar adjusted his hat as Natasha came into view and made sure he was presenting himself as official as he could for the civilians surrounding. His Sergeant, on the other hand, was much more relaxed as he looked around, scanning. Auspex gave off an air of authority naturally soo his lack of hat and lax demeanor didn't affect how others saw him as they walked past the two.

"Good Morning Ms. Lockwood" Said Vatar as he and Auspex gave a nod of greeting to the approaching woman. "We're here to follow up on the attack here about a month back"

Vatar would pull out a notepad and in the back, Auspex would continue scanning around as if looking for something. Usually, Vatar took the active role of scouting for clues while Auspex charmed his way into information but today was his turn.

"How have things been going for you, Madam? I see the building is in much better repair but how have things been going in your day to day, any threats or other forms of harassment?"

Natasha greeted the officers, nodding at Auspex acknowledging his presence, even though Vatar was obviously the one in charge of today's follow-up.

"Things have been, uh, ... fine," she answered hesitantly as she glanced around her to see who might be listening.

Vampires had an excellent sense of hearing, and she worried about unnecessarily upsetting anyone since many of the MCSS and members of the vampire community were still somewhat uneasy.

"Could we maybe discuss this in my office?" she said as she gestured towards her office.

Vatar raised an eyebrow at the hesitation of Natasha's voice. His eyes watched hers look around ever so slightly, and just when he was about to option they step outside or go somewhere more remote she'd made the option herself. Vatar made a quick look around to see if something or someone was immediately causing her some form of duress but only saw what appeared to be members going about their business.

"That's just fine by us mam." Vatar would say politely with a smile before flipping his notepad closed and following Natasha to her office.

When she turned around to lead them Vatar would turn his head back to his Sergeant with a look of curiosity as to the reason for the request to change scenery. Almost immediately Auspex pointed his hands to his ears signaling the reason for the move. His pointing would turn into waves and greetings as they passed by some members every now and again.

With a simple nod, Vatar would turn his attention back to where he was going, being sure not to bump into anyone or pull unwanted attention. Although he found the latter hard given how easy the uniform drew eyes and questions toward them.

When they were in her office and away from prying ears and eyes, Natasha closed the door to her office with gentle firmness", making sure the latch clicked into place before she began speaking again.

"Thank you," Natasha said. "I prefer not to alarm anyone here unnecessarily," she explained as she moved behind her desk and got out a set of keys to unlock her desk.

"These started arriving maybe a week and a half or so after the attack," she told them very solemnly as she handed over a small bundle of threatening letters, pictures of silver crosses and stakes, and among which were also two crude drawings of vampires burning on crosses or being stabbed in the heart.

Vatar's eyebrows furrowed as the stack of letters was placed in front of him. He'd honestly expected some form of follow up harassment but not to the extent that was placed in front of him, and this only accounted for what was sent there. He could only imagine the personalized hate that other members might have been receiving. Vatar handed a small portion of the stack to Auspex who took the letter gently and inspected them closely.

"How painstakingly unoriginal. " He'd say as he inspected a letter with garlic drawn on it.

"Don't expect much from these sorts of people.... I am sorry you've had to deal with this Ms.Lockwood." Auspex spoke up as he neatly stacked the letters in his hand.

"Have you noticed any frequencies occurring alongside the letters? Same mailman? The same rate of letter delivery?" Any little bit can help us find the sources of these letters." Vatar placed his portion of the stack with Auspec who did a small once over of the new ones.

"In these sorts of cases, it is best not to rule anyone out as well. If any occurrence seems off please bring it to our attention." Auspex voice carried a more serious tone as he shifted into full focus.

"I ...I don't really know... lemme think a moment. I'd have sworn that they come with the mail," Natasha frowned a little as she tried to think if there had been anything out of the ordinary about the delivery of the hate mail.

"Fridays ... " she piped up. "Fridays are definitely one of the days ... the two drawings were delivered on a Friday, and the one letter about "hellish abominations..." she said with a hint of disgust in her voice.

"And maybe Wednesday, or Tuesday? she added, somewhat unsure of the other day.

"I did write the dates we received each one on the back. Maybe that can help?" she suggested.

Vatar looked back at Auspex who was comparing the dates of a few letters. Instead of drawing on that he instead put his focus back on Natasha who seemed to have been rather proactive in assisting the police. " That's more than helpful mam it'll save us some time at the very least. I know many of the people I work with are eager to put the members of the MCSS at ease."

Vatar took out his notepad once again and pulled the pencil held within it. "So tell me, have the letters been the extent of follow up harassment you've received since the event? No personal problems at all?"

Being the face of the organization Vatar expected that the level of harassment aimed at her may be worse than the society as a whole. He hadn't done much personal research on Natasha given that wasn't his job but he did know that ever since coming to the island she'd been a fine pillar in the vampiric community. Auspex had known much more given his familial ties with a vampire and the dig he faced due to it.
