Kenta got the last of it off his tail. "Um... Yeah, if you want to.... Well, if I can catch the guy. He's almost never home, especially recently." He explained. "I haven't even gotten to tell him about Gin yet..."

"Have you told anyone about Gin?" It felt odd to talk about the other side of Kenta by name. "I kind of want to see him again myself. I want answers." She helped him pick the last few thorns out of his fur.

He shook his head. "You and Laetus are... kinda my only friends here..." Really anywhere. "And... I'm sure you'll get that chance..." He said this with some obvious hesitation. The seal... still made him feel less stable. It let him out once... He still felt it could break.

"I just have to find a way not to..." Shay cut herself off. She didn't want to mention death. It would freak Kenta out too much and Shay couldn't deal with that right now.

He took a deep breath. "I've said it before; Whatever you come up with, I'll go for it." He smiled. He hated the subject but... "I trust you." With his tails cleaned out, he stood back up and held his gloved hand out to her, ready to walk her home.

Shay opted not to take his hand this time as they walked back to the orphanage. "I wish I had more interesting things to say," she commented as they walked. "I feel pretty boring compared to the stories you probably have."

Was that wrong too..? Are all humans this confusing when you get to know them? He shook his head, not wanting to dwell on such things again. "You... really do say odd things, Shay-shay." He responded. "I've told you I love talking to you, right? Not having some crazy junk like Gin doesn't make you any less fun." He told her. It was part way a joke, but he really did always seem to enjoy talking to her. Or even just sitting there together... Well, unless she was 'frustrated' with him...

"But I barely have anything to say." Shay bit her lower lip, reaching over and taking his hand. "Hey Kenta, how would you describe me, if you had to?" She leaned against him as they walked, enjoying the leisurely pace of their stroll.

Shay stopped to look at the tree they had made markings in. "I think I'd describe you as...easy-going and kind and maybe a little shy and uncertain. It's weird we became friends. Our first impression was...unique."

Kenta smiled, at the hand holding, markings and her description of him. "I do my best to be memorable on first meetings." He told her with a laugh. "But... to describe you... I..." He thought for a bit as they walked. Eventually he started talking again.
"This may come out like gibberish. Forgive me." He told her before starting. "To describe you... I'd say you try your best to be cold. To be distant and unapproachable. Makes sense with your power and all... You feel like you want to be alone. Or maybe you were afraid to get close to someone... but..." He held her hand a bit tighter. "When you started to relax around me, I found you were hiding a kind, caring and curious person in that shell... A part that was... still willing to get close..." He smirked and poked her cheek. "You could relax a bit more though. You sound like an adult sometimes." He teased, attempting to kill any tension. His smirk softened back to a warm smile soon after though. "I guess... I'd never have figured anything about myself out though if you didn't. You always see the bigger picture..."
He looked at her. "Does... All that make sense?"

The more he spoke, the more red Shay's face became. She never blushed for long, but she still felt the tension of that embarrassment in her smile and the pit of her stomach. "T-That makes sense," she said, pausing to gather her voice and let it strengthen. "Except the relaxing part, that will never happen." Shay grinned.

She returned his tight grip and swung their arms lightly. "I like it when you smirk. It's cute and confident, and it reminds me of the first time we spoke. I like it when you feel confident; you shine through then."

Shay actually felt disappointed when they were closing the distance to the orphanage. She was naturally a swift walker, but now she slowed to what felt like a crawl to her.
