"I wasn't prepared last time. I can handle it a lot better when I'm mentally prepared. And with Gin...well, I... I wasn't prepared for that at all. It's kind of like being punched mentally, if I can see it coming, I'm usually fine." Shay put her glove back on and again sat next to him so she could lay her head on his shoulder and relax. Her head was still throbbing a bit, but it was nothing she couldn't handle.
Kenta nodded again. She had gotten close again, which brought him some relief. He thought about asking what she saw, but opted not to. It was a nice moment, and... If it we're important, she would have just told him, right? And she seemed ok... He decided to just let her rest.
"Kenta, why do you remain so young when you could be any age you wanted? I mean, I'd want to be an adult if it were my choice."
"Huh? Well..." He was sorta confused by the question. "Shay-shay... I'm... Well, I... Feel this age I guess... Its been two years since I... Became me. This is what I looked like when I was 'born'... Maybe a bit shorter... I've aged two years and... I... Don't know.." He never really thought about it. "I'm... Me. Does that... Make any sense?" He asked, though it barely made sense to him.
"I suppose, but would being older change you in any way?" Shay wondered if he'd grow up much in the way she was, personality ever changing. Confident growing. "What if one day you get bored of being a kid?"
"Then I'd... be a teenager?" He said, still confused. "I've never really... Thought about it this way. I guess... "
"Well, what if you decide to become a teenager or an adult, and I'm still a kid? Wouldn't it be weird to be friends with someone way younger than you?"
"I... don't think so. I mean.... Laetus is like... in college..." He thought for a moment, then asked "Would that... Make you feel weird? If I looked older? I mean... I'd still be me and..."
"I mean, no. I spend time with older people, but, you know. It would be...different." Maybe it would be weird. Shay wasn't completely sure, but she did know she wouldn't be holding hands with an older kid, wouldn't that look suspect?
