"Mm..." He relaxed again. "Thats a fair point I guess..." He smiled and closed his eyes again. "Still... If you need anything at all, I'm here for you."

Shay thought, letting the silence continue between them until she knew she could articulate her point. "Kenta, can I try something?" her voice was sober and when she looked up at him the darkness of her eyes helped to further the serious tone of her person.

Kenta glanced over at her, but when he saw the look on her face he turned his head to give her his full attention. "Yeah... Sure, Shay-shay. What is it?"

"Stay still, if you would," Shay said before closing her eyes and leaning back. She had taken a deep breath before her eyes opened. Her irises were pure gold, and the whites of her eyes were pitch black when they opened.

To Shay, the world was coated in a color of gold, in what she would have described as pixie dust. She stared at Kenta, looking him up and down. Taking in his health, his alignment, his current mood, and finally, the strength of his magic. The last was what she was most interested in, though in reality, Shay just wanted to practice her ability. She rarely got to use it.

Kenta held still as requested, but when her eyes turned gold he seemed... confused? Surprised? Something in between maybe? He tried not to show any of that, as she had said to hold still. He was even holding his breath.
His aura would be a green similar to his eye color, with stray blues and yellows mixed in. Perhaps the green color was a result of these two together? At its core was a small white light. His health was fine, though he could do to sleep better... and he wasn't breathing at the moment. His mood was confused, curious, but not concerned. He trusted whatever she was doing. His magical strength (assuming it'd be relative to his aura) would be only mildly more than the average, though she would notice the same white glow at the edges of his aura that his core held. It seemed to be pulling inward

Shay stared, trying to figure out all the colors as they mixed and swirled. It wasn't long before she held her head and fell forward. When she looked back up, her eyes had resumed their dark brown color. She was still holding her head, as she watched him. It hurt. A dull throbbing was radiating down her neck.

"That doesn't get any easier...or less confusing. I think I need to practice more."

He finally took a breath and caught her when she fell forward. "What... was that, Shay-shay?" He asked. "Are you ok? Your eyes like... Is that what mine...?" He had a lot of questions.

"That's one of my powers," Shay breathed, sitting up on her own. "It lets me see things about a person, how strong they are, their mood, alignment, health. I -- It hurts, though." She took a moment to breathe shallowly. "I have to use my life force for it."

Kenta looked at her with more concern now. "Your... life force? Isn't that dangerous? Why would you..." He seemed scared in his concern. "Doesn't that shorten your life or..."

"I don't think so?" She didn't sound certain. "I mean, no. I can make me sick if I do it for too long, is all." Shay put a cool finger to her temple. "I have to practice it some time, though, right? Otherwise, how will I ever know the extent of my powers?"
