Loud, chaotic and an absolute mess. It wasn't that Raella despised going to the cafeteria, it's just that if she had a choice she'd prefer to have her food in a place with more...tranquility. However, since her transfer, she hasn't had a single meal spent fully within the confinements of the canteen hence she decided that instead of ordering her usual takeaway, she'd stay and see if any interesting encounters occur.

Thanking the vendor for the food and paying the fee, she swiftly carried the tray and set it down on a rather empty table. Being a new transfer, she was unsure of the school dynamics, hence she wouldn't want to rudely intrude on a clique or anything like that. Besides, Raella was no stranger to eating alone; being the only child meant a lot of time spent in isolation, one would eventually get used to the solitude. Ignoring the incessant chattering and loud laughter from the surrounding tables, she wasted no time and dug in, savoring the salty and unique taste of the fried saba fish.

THIS WAS KINDA SHORT, MY APOLOGIES HAHA also have i mentioned it is a terrible idea to let me name threads, oof

Yawning, Eli paid for his lunch, and walking into the dining area, looked around for a place to sit. Being the lunch hour, it was startlingly full, but he was glad for at least one empty table.

Standing next to the only occupant, he pointed to the seat next to her. "Is this seat taken?"

(It's fine, mine was shorter. That Title is brilliant)

Snapping out of her daze, she sparred a glance to the side to observe the newcomer. A tall lanky male? Female? Shemale? For a few seconds, Raella was just a little confused. While the other was probably male, he had enough feminity to rival her. Realizing she's stayed silent for a moment too long, she quickly replied, "Oh, not at all! Feel free to have a seat."

Well, this sure was interesting. It probably hasn't been ten minutes in the cafeteria and she's already met someone new. Perhaps she should come here more often; despite the noise, meeting people is always a joy.

Flashing Eli a quick grin, Raella decided that a little conversation was in order. "So, what grade are you in?"

"Thank you." He said with a smile and a nod. Sitting down, he glanced over his food. nothing special today, but the cookie was nice.

Turning to the girl beside him, he decided he could forgo lunch, instead, he'll sit out in the sun for an hour later. "Oh, Twelfth. How about you? I don't think I've seen you before."

"Likewise. Actually, I'm in twelfth grade too but I recently transferred in around a month ago which is probably why you haven't seen me around." Taking another bite of her lunch, she then turned her attention back on Eli, folding her wings neatly behind her back as she did so "Say, what's your name? Mine's Raella. Raella Laurie." Noticing Eli hasn't touched much of his lunch, Raella offered some of hers, sliding her tray towards him just a little. After all, the vendor had given her such a large portion she would have trouble finishing it all by herself.

"Oh, new then?" Eli nodded. The wings weren't something he could forget about, but it made sense if she was new. "I'm Eli, nice to meet you."

He smiled when she moved her lunch, but shook his head, pushing it back towards her. "I'm fine. So what do you think of the school so far?"

"Nice to meet you too!" For a moment Raella contemplated extending a hand to shake however, she eventually decided against it since their position would make it a little awkward. "This school's amazing! I never expected for it to have so many facilities. Honestly, my favorite part of it is the sparring rooms and garden... speaking of which, would you like to have a duel with me after lunch?" Glancing at her watch, she confirmed that there was a good 45 minutes left before the lunch hour was over before directing her attention back at Eli.

"A duel?" Eli laughed, considering it. He doubted she was a Timebender, but even so, she would have trouble keeping up with him. "Alright then, let's do that. been ages since I was any kind of skirmish." It wasn't like he could be badly hurt.

Picking up his cookie, he began to nibble it, knowing he had plenty of time. "So before we actually fight, I should ask. Are you much of a fighter?"

At the thought of a duel, her lips curled to a playfully devilish grin. "What can I say, all of my abilities, save for the summoning, are battle orientated." Her tone was quick and laced with eagerness. Ever since her previous duel, it had been obvious that Raella needed to practice as much as possible. As of present, she seemed to be relying too much on her magical capabilities for her comfort; once her mana and energy ran out, she would be a sitting duck just waiting for death to come. Raella wondered if she should let the other know her powers beforehand, however, a little surprise would do no harm. Besides, it was a practice battle, she was sure both of them knew better than to go for each other's throats. Humming lightly, Raella then continued in the same exuberant manner of speech.

"Why don't we keep our powers a secret till after the duel. After all, the element of surprise can sometimes be a deciding factor for the victor."

Summoning? She had magical abilities then. To be expected, but Eli still acted surprised. "Oh, so you have some skill at least." He grinned. Admittedly, he really wanted to fight this girl.

"Keeping them a secret is fine with me." He said in a sly tone, finishing his cookie. "After lunch you said? did you mean after our meal, or after the period?" He sounded eager.
