One would suggest that it was safe to say that Damian had a feeling that Ms. Thirteen was warming up to him and he was enjoying her company as well. It's been a while since he has encounter someone who was just so pleasant and peaceful; it would make sense if she had more than a handful of friends by her side.
As Ms.Thirteen turned her attention towards the massive piano, he turned his hand and gazed at the Steinway D-274, a piano that was said to be the equivalent of gold and diamonds to music lovers and it probably costs about the same as well. as of now, Damian did not believe he knew too much about piano or playing any sort of instrument. He has seen a few beautiful performances off the internet a couple of times before knowing of his ability and the knowledge from those videos could be described as locked into the corner of his brain, waiting to be utilized.
When Ms.Thirteen walked over to the piano, he followed suit, being only but a single step behind her until they walked up and on to the stage. He stood beside the large piano, watching the mage sit down on the bench and prepare the piano. Once the mage had informed him of some sort of test, perhaps to aid her towards better understanding his ability. Damian stared at her hands that played but a tune on this grand piano before she continued to explain how to any other observer, this piano was perfect and noted that he was no ordinary, casual observer thus leading to her asking if he could notice this monstrosities faults. After folding one arm across his chest and resting his elbow on top of his wrist while he rubs his chin, he looked over at Ms.Thirteen and smiled.
"Yeah it's probably both a game and a test. So may I?" He said with another small chuckled, as he respectfully asked for Ms.Thirteen to move over just a little bit before he sat down. When he was seated, the piano keys acted as just that: keys to unlocking the information he absorbed in the past. He was going to treat this more of a game then a test being that he loved a nice challenge being it could be a break from him usually getting things right.
Raising both of his hands, he gently placed them on keys on both respective sides and begin to play a tune filled with feelings of love towards a beloved one. As he pressed they keys one by one at first, his pace began to quicken as what was required of this enchanting melody that figuratively captures the soul. Through all of this, he is learning more and more about the mechanics, design and structure of the piano, all of it while playing like he has been studying the piano for forty five years. After thirty minutes of playing; he suddenly stopped.
"This piano...In the year 1956-Steinway along with the other American piano manufacturers who supplied this thing all agreed to abandon ivory and start using plastic for keys. Fancy plastic placed over European spruce but plastic. Although it was cheaper, the quality of it did go down if only slightly. As a result, I can tell that you've using this a lot because that plastic is starting to weather just a little and that had effected the mechanics in the balance pin resulting in an even further decrease in touch resistance and power which as you may know, effects the volume of the piano. Now that's only the most pressing flaw. Keep caring for it and it could last another ten years but during it's tenth year there is a high possibility that it will break down at any time and be beyond repair."
Removing his hands from the keys, he gazed at Ms.Thirteen as he continued to explain.
"You see every thing in life has beginning and an end. You could say that the pianos greatest flaw is time....Oh and it needs to be tuned." He snickered thus ending his explanation on a comical note. Those were three flaws off the top of his head and he could think of others but they weren't as major as the ones he has already presented to Ms.Thirteen. On another note, he was somewhat shocked on his own performance on this gigantic chuck of wood, metal and plastic. The only logical explanation would be his ability since this was literally his first time playing a piano.
