One would suggest that it was safe to say that Damian had a feeling that Ms. Thirteen was warming up to him and he was enjoying her company as well. It's been a while since he has encounter someone who was just so pleasant and peaceful; it would make sense if she had more than a handful of friends by her side.

As Ms.Thirteen turned her attention towards the massive piano, he turned his hand and gazed at the Steinway D-274, a piano that was said to be the equivalent of gold and diamonds to music lovers and it probably costs about the same as well. as of now, Damian did not believe he knew too much about piano or playing any sort of instrument. He has seen a few beautiful performances off the internet a couple of times before knowing of his ability and the knowledge from those videos could be described as locked into the corner of his brain, waiting to be utilized.

When Ms.Thirteen walked over to the piano, he followed suit, being only but a single step behind her until they walked up and on to the stage. He stood beside the large piano, watching the mage sit down on the bench and prepare the piano. Once the mage had informed him of some sort of test, perhaps to aid her towards better understanding his ability. Damian stared at her hands that played but a tune on this grand piano before she continued to explain how to any other observer, this piano was perfect and noted that he was no ordinary, casual observer thus leading to her asking if he could notice this monstrosities faults. After folding one arm across his chest and resting his elbow on top of his wrist while he rubs his chin, he looked over at Ms.Thirteen and smiled.

"Yeah it's probably both a game and a test. So may I?" He said with another small chuckled, as he respectfully asked for Ms.Thirteen to move over just a little bit before he sat down. When he was seated, the piano keys acted as just that: keys to unlocking the information he absorbed in the past. He was going to treat this more of a game then a test being that he loved a nice challenge being it could be a break from him usually getting things right.

Raising both of his hands, he gently placed them on keys on both respective sides and begin to play a tune filled with feelings of love towards a beloved one. As he pressed they keys one by one at first, his pace began to quicken as what was required of this enchanting melody that figuratively captures the soul. Through all of this, he is learning more and more about the mechanics, design and structure of the piano, all of it while playing like he has been studying the piano for forty five years. After thirty minutes of playing; he suddenly stopped.

"This piano...In the year 1956-Steinway along with the other American piano manufacturers who supplied this thing all agreed to abandon ivory and start using plastic for keys. Fancy plastic placed over European spruce but plastic. Although it was cheaper, the quality of it did go down if only slightly. As a result, I can tell that you've using this a lot because that plastic is starting to weather just a little and that had effected the mechanics in the balance pin resulting in an even further decrease in touch resistance and power which as you may know, effects the volume of the piano. Now that's only the most pressing flaw. Keep caring for it and it could last another ten years but during it's tenth year there is a high possibility that it will break down at any time and be beyond repair."

Removing his hands from the keys, he gazed at Ms.Thirteen as he continued to explain.

"You see every thing in life has beginning and an end. You could say that the pianos greatest flaw is time....Oh and it needs to be tuned." He snickered thus ending his explanation on a comical note. Those were three flaws off the top of his head and he could think of others but they weren't as major as the ones he has already presented to Ms.Thirteen. On another note, he was somewhat shocked on his own performance on this gigantic chuck of wood, metal and plastic. The only logical explanation would be his ability since this was literally his first time playing a piano.

"Absolutely, go right ahead."

Aurora scooted over on the bench for the boy as he lifted the cover to the keyboard and looked for just a moment before starting to play. And for the next thirty minutes, she was treated to something that was no less than impressive for almost anyone of any age, including herself.

Damian's observation was something similar to that of a master sommilier; precise and decisive...and to no surprise, incredibly accurate as well. Everything he mentioned was dead on, leaving the test to come to something that of a close, but not before he mentioned the tuning. Aurora looked over at him, chuckling slightly. To be honest, that's all she had wanted him to find. She would need to find the school's tuning levers at some point, if they had them at all. But right now, Aurora herself was...actually quite impressed at Damian's ability. She had seen more than a pyromancer about, but it had always been the mental students, not to be confused with insane, that she enjoyed talking to.

"That...is actually really cool."

Aurora started playing a little as she spoke, but not going really any farther than 15 seconds into any particular song.

"To be honest, it was more a test for my own sake. I suspect that you aren't usually that good at piano, but if your ability isn't controllable, there isn't much I can conventionally teach you. I could make you play piano, violin, sing...but you could probably do all those things flawlessly."

Aurora's entropic control worked different. Fundamentally, it was more powerful, and while she could glean information off the breakdown and fate of objects, true understanding took more work. She also couldn't simply do something she didn't know how to do without some other tricks, each of which put more strain on her than she'd rather use.

Not to mention it wasn't worth just doing something once. However, maybe she could glean a bit more information out of Damian to figure out how in the world to actually go about doing her job.

"So, I know your name, your ability. But I don't really know you; tell me about yourself?"

With Ms. Thirteen's comment on how "cool" his ability was, he found the size of his smile doubling in width which revealed his pearly white teeth. Behind that smile however was him understanding that it was because of this power that he had more than his fair share of problems when it comes to the social scene in schools.

Sure, with this ability, he could take care of a lot of problems but from that comes even more problems and it would be only a matter of time that this ability creates a problem that would be too much for Damian, despite his knowledge, will be able to overcome.

So when it is ever possible, he would like to try and not rely on it but his attempts at doing that have not fruitful. So he has high hopes that he would be able to find the answer in this school when the time comes. No surprise that Ms.Thirteen seemed impressed with his ability and don't get him wrong, it was without a doubt.

"...One of the flaws of this ability I'm afraid. Pfft... I could of told all of that myself but I guess it's worth it."

He stated with a simple shrug with a voice that would give the feeling that he did not truly believe what he just said. When asked about himself, he crossed his arms to give her question a little thought. "Hmm... Well what is there to say?" After a few seconds of thought, he looked over towards Ms. Thirteen as he tries to find the proper words to use since he isn't exactly use to speaking about himself and has always been rather fine just being seen as mysterious.

Not for nefarious reasons of course but, he was ether too lazy too or didn't feel he could trust the person he was speaking too but since this mage has volunteered to help him out then it was the least he could do. "Not much to tell honestly. I'm just a guy looking for a job and trying to make my time on this earth a nice one." He responded while lightly gliding his hand across his side of the key board with his left hand.

"Trying to stay in that middle road between high self esteem and low self esteem, y'know. All that good stuff." He continued as he pressed down on a single key that create a small chime. "What about you Ms.Silivasi? What else do you do then staying young for oh so many years." He teased lightly with a grin. Although his ability was something, Ms.Thirteen's power was something else entirely. Two incredibly powerful forces at her finger tips was impressive but worrisome to be sure but thanks to Damian understanding the abilities limitations as well as how Thirteen herself uses it, he was not too concerned.

"I would hardly call it a flaw. It's a natural ability, and you should use it, flaws or not."

Aurora was not going to lecture him on the proper time to use it for three reasons. One, she was not one of the teachers that was trained specifically in order to advance a student's ability. Two, Damian's thing was natural, and couldn't be turned on or off; it just worked, and it was something that simply had to be accepted until he could control that part, if it was even possible. And three; Aurora simply didn't want to. There were things about her ability she couldn't control as well, and she had spent the better part of 143 years trying to do so.

In a way, she wondered if the classes that taught ability control were necessary, or the right thing to do. Everyone was different, and it was her thought that you couldn't just get a bunch of students together, and hope that a few lessons would incite control over their abilities...but that conversation was for a different time.

Damian's explanation of himself was also a bit to be desired, but the mage understood if he didn't want to go too far. Aurora herself would never explain everything about herself, but frankly, it was possible that Damian could already see it. If that was the case...well...it was something not to be shared.

"I suppose living a life of balance is a good thing in itself. Although I think you'd be hard pressed to find a job on the islands. It's a pretty small place."

Sure, there was a city that hired students, but the variety of jobs was pretty low to say the least. Small little places like these didn't need a huge workforce to keep running.

And then, the conversation switched a bit.

"Well, I guess I'm something of a polymath. I've always been good at piano; even parents in the 1800s apparently wanted their children to aspire to something."

If not more, especially if it was found out that they weren't attuned to magic.

"Every few years, 5, 10, 25...I find something new to do. I've always taught magic of sorts on my homeworld, but this is the first time I've ever taught to a group of teenagers about a different subject. Stereotypically, I build clocks and other clockwork contraptions, paint, write...just about anything you can think of. Other than the first, nothing to a master level."

Her clocks and 'inventions' were amazingly good, but a good artist, singer, instrumentalist that was dedicated to their craft would always be better. She simply had the advantage of time on her side.

"Heh... Right."

Were the next words that left his lips towards the subject of the use of his abilities as if he was submissively passing off what she was saying but not because he found it hard to believe, in fact he knew that but that exactly mean it was something he wanted to hear but nevertheless, he showed his gratitude towards Ms. Thirteen's wisdom with half a nod before the mage gave her input on his rather vague description of himself but as uninformative that it was, Ms. Thirteen seemed to respect the fact that talking about himself wasn't a subject that he was all to comfortable with and that was pretty cool to him.

Normally, some folk often decided to keep their distance from him for that specific reason but perhaps he should start expecting the unexpected not just from Ms. Thirteen but from this entire academy. "Sounds good. I mean if life isn't easy then why should finding a job be right? Could prove to be a fruitful endeavor, trying to find a job on this tiny island. Life lessons and all that." He said with the utmost confidence despite understanding that it would be difficult.

Listening to Thirteen's description of herself was pretty fascinating and showed just how impressive this mage really was. i mean seriously, she has a hand in all sorts of things making her a authentic jack of all trades. "Really? Wow. Mind if I take a look at one of your inventions one of these days?" He asked, showcasing just how interested he was in said inventions and how impressed he was with her talents. Did he guess these talents already.

Well... that didn't matter right now because it did not lessen the value of Ms.Thirteen skills. The chatter of more students began to ring outside of the auditorium, which reminded Damian of something that caused his eyes to widen slightly. "Oh shoot, What time is it?" he asked before he remembered the time he came in, which was ten minutes ago. "Oh man. Homeroom is going to start soon!" He was enjoying the conversation so much that he had completely lost track of time. So he briskly rose out of the seat.

"Sorry, I have to go Ms.Silivasi but first... As a thank you for the awesome chat... Can I see your hand?"

With a mind racing due to his eagerness to get to class, he had to act quickly so he wouldn't have the time to explain every detail about what he was going to do. By firmly grasping on to her hand, a fluctuation of time would form in the palm of her hand thanks to Damian's assistance. He was not utilizing time himself but casting a spell while using Ms.Thirteen's own magical energy as a medium.

The fluctuation became a translucent stick -like object that began to form in her hand. The object continued to form until the details of it started to become more recognizable and it's hollow form became solid within her hand thus a chronokinetic construct of a Octagona piano tuning wench for the Steinway piano was formed, "Viola! A tuning instrument. You should use that in twelve hours or it will vanish. I'd love to explain some more but I've got to go." He turned around and raised his arm as his signal for a quick good-bye before fleeing out of the auditorium. Hopefully he won't be late.
