First Session: Kalik

"Of course," Valli said, pushing himself up off the couch and heading to his desk. He flipped through a set of business cards, pulling out two before returning to Jafar, holding them out for him to take. "I've referred patients to both," he said. "Although I would strongly recommend making appointments, not just showing up. I've rolled with it, but not everyone will, and you might lock yourself out of your best chance by dropping by without an appointment."

Never mind the breaking and entering...

"That doesn't have to be all, no. But you took the first step. Reaching out and asking for help is the most important step, more important than any other part of recovery." He believed that honestly, and he sat back down across from him, giving him what he hoped was an approachable smile.

"We can set up a proper session. Can start working through things. Things aren't fixed in a single session." No, no they won't. "Getting into a routine is the best thing you can do."

"I use whatever name people would like," Valli said. "If you'd like me to use Kalik, then I'll use Kalik, and I can put you down that way in my books." If he was going to guess, Jafar was his 'old' name, pre-kidnapping, and Kalik was what he was using right then.

"Why don't we set up for next Monday? That should give you time to start looking into things on your own, and then we can discuss them then."

"Alright," he said. "You already have my information, so you know to call the office if anything comes up." He pushed himself up from the seat, and then he'd let Kalik out.

This was going to be one of those sessions he didn't tell Gask about, wasn't it?
