"These uniforms are cute!" said Lorencia, the bouncy bundle of energy that was skipping right beside Devias, her calmer cousin.

"They are. Looks good on you."

"You don't look bad yourself!"

Both of them were new to this place. Devias had been here before, making arrangements of their transfer from Sol, but this was Lorencia's first time in the academy. The person guiding them was more than happy to answer all her questions about the school, the points of interests she found while looking out the windows and of course anything relating to music such as the rooms, what instruments they had, etcetera. Devias was content listening, as he had read up much about the school, but the book he got the information from was about a few decades outdated. At least.

Stopping in front of a room, they were told to wait by the door while their guide spoke to the teacher. While Devias was waiting patiently, Lorencia was peeking in from the door frame, starry-eyed at all the people she'd be meeting. The guide returned and the two of them could hear the teacher telling her class to welcome two new students. The guide ushered them in, and immediately Lorencia exploded in greeting their new classmates.

"Hello, fellow classmates!" she said aloud with an energetic aura bursting forth. "I'm Lorencia Hel'Sarie! And this is my cousin!" she indicated with a thumb, grinning.

"My name's Devias Hel'Sarie," he said clearly. He wasn't as energetic as his younger cousin, but his smile was of genuine happiness that he was there.

"Hope we all get along!"
"Hope we all get along."

As if they had rehearsed this part of their introduction before, both of them bowed in unison, with Devias giving a small, reserved bow and Lorencia going all in, making a deep bow like a ballerina at the end of her routine. They were also in unison as they rose. "Nailed it," Lorencia whispered to Devias, quite proud that neither of them fumbled.

Roland looked up from his book as the new students appeared, a boy and a girl around his age, one energetic, the other calm. He couldn't help but notice that the girl was attractive.

He gave a calm smile, rose from his seat, and approached the duo, "hello, I am Roland Knightkin." He bowed as he always did, "I am also new to the island." He gently took Lorencia's hand and kissed it, "welcome to Manta Carlos."

After introducing themselves, the teacher told them to take one of the empty seats. It was there that one of the students introduced themselves and kissed Lorencia's hand, to which she reacted with a chuckle. "Oh my, someone's already trying to charm me. Nice to meet you, Roland. Thank you for the warm welcome."

Devias turned a blind eye to the boy after acknowledging his introduction with a nod. They took two adjacent empty seats in the middle column. Class hadn't yet started it seemed, and so Lorencia, who was seated closer to Roland asked, "When did you start attending school here?"

His calm smile never left his face, "charm you?" this had become a common assumption when he greeted people. "I don't think I have the ability to really charm someone," he said in his strange yet pleasant accent with a chuckle, "you are lovely, but I largely greet everyone the same." He grinned a bit, "that said, spending time with you does sound pleasant."

"I arrived about a week ago," he grinned and chuckled, "I suppose I'm still a bit new to be welcoming other arrivals." He had always been very kind, willing to help others, "I haven't been able to explore the island yet, there seems to be much to see and do. Perhaps we can explore some of it together."

Wei was fast asleep. As the two walked down the aisle, one of them bumped his desk, causing him to wake up. It was slow and sluggish the way he sat up and rubbed his eyes. To anyone in the room who wasn't familiar with the place, Wei looked like he absolutely didn't belong. His arms and face and legs were all covered with thick fur, and his face had the natural flatness of a monkey, though much of it was covered with wild blond hair,

He was small and thin, clearly Chinese and most people would identify him as being female, since he wore the girl's uniform.

He blinked blearily and yawned, showing impressive fangs, and turned to look at the two people he definitely didn't know. "Mmmn... you guys.... you must be new huh?"

"Oh really?" she mused aloud. A couple of people back home had said the same thing about her being a pleasant companion due to her bubbly personality, while some say it because of attraction. It had become somewhat of a game to guess which category people fell into.

It seemed Roland was nearly as new as they were, which would mean all three of them could be close friends if the older students didn't like them that much, Lorencia reasoned with herself.

While she was chatting with Roland, Devias took it upon himself to address the other person speaking to them. Adjusting his glasses, he replied, "Yes, we just officially transfered here today." Judging by... his(?) sleepy look, he missed their introduction. "My name is Devias Hel'Sarie, and this is my cousin, Lorencia Hel'Sarie. Pleasure to meet you," he said.

Devias reached out his hand to shake the monkey-looking person when Lorencia grabbed him by the elbow. "On one condition, Devias comes with us!" she told Roland. "I'm not going to leave his side, because he has to protect me, right, Dev?"

"You know you don't need me to do that," he said in reply, once again re-balancing his glasses that had come ajar from the sudden jerk.

"Come on, you're basically my older brother in this world, act like it!" She gave him a scolding look, and Devias could only sigh.

"Okay then. I won't let you. You've got tests to study for."

"Hey, I didn't mean--" She took a breath when she saw Devias' smile, "Very funny, but we're going, and I'm dragging you along with me!"

"If you say so."

When he was released, Devias sat back up straight and turned his attention to the monkey-person. "She can get a bit... eccentric."

He smiled happily, rolling a small fireball between finger and thumb, an old habbit of his. It was true, he did find her attractive, but he would have been friends with her no matter what, "of course, more the merrier. We can head into the city together, look at the shops."

He let go of the fireball and had it float, "there's quite a bit here, I've been reading about the island." He grinned, "anything we can think, the island likely has it." The mini fireball began slowly circling him, "they even have a station circling the planet."

Wei watched the three people just talk to each other, smiling placidly as Davias tried to explain the excited nature of his sister. Or, wait, didn't he say cousin? Well, cousin then.

"Well, I'm glad t'meet you both. I'm always happy to see new people. If you need anything at all I'm your guy."

He stretched and leans over, clearly more interested than he was before, now that he's woken up a bit more. "So where are you two from? Somewhere neat, I hope."

"Oh yeah, Dev said something about a space station up there. I'd love to up there in zero gravity and just float around! But I guess getting there wouldn't be that easy." Ignoring the fact that maybe only those with the proper training could ever be allowed up there. Although, all she would really need is to visit the place once, and she can go back and forth whenever she wanted.

Eying the fireball floating around Roland, Lorencia raised a finger to steal it away from him, but Devias was quick to put her hand down, saying, "Don't. You'll set this classroom ablaze." She stuck her tongue out at him but conceded without much resistance.

Devias turned back to the other student to answer his queries. "We come from Sol, a floating archipelago in the Void. It's not the best place for outsiders to stay in for an extended amount of time however. It takes some getting used to."

Reaching into his bag he pulled a brochure for the station from his bag, "it says that they have a teleportation spell so anyone can visit." He handed it to her, "it looks fascinating."

He grinned, "you have fire magic?" Make the fireball float above his hand he offered it to her, "fire was the first spell I ever learned." The mini fireball circled Roland's hand, "I have an ice spell as well."
