"Sol? That does sound neat. Though, I've never been to any floating archipelagos... or... to the void, wherever that is."

Wei shifted again to make himself more comfortable. Just from watching him move around, it was clear that he was the kind of kid who seemed to have problems sitting still for more than a few minutes at a time.

"What's it like there? Where I'm from, its like an oasis in a desert. It's like we live in a bowl, and there's this beautiful lake, and there's trees and everything." He gestured the shape of a bowl with his arm, swooping down a little before turning back up.

"But sometimes, when there's not enough rain, he lake dries up, and all the plants die."

"Oh that makes things much simpler!" Lorencia said, snatching the brochure. "This looks so cool!" She skimmed through much of the brochure, only interested in what it offered and not much about its history. But when the topic of fire magic came up, her focus was recentered on Roland.

"Fire is actually my secondary attunement," she nodded to herself before continuing. "And Devias has ice! Wow, it would seem like you could be the mediator between the two of us. I mean you have both of our elements to your disposal!"

Devias listened to the other student describe where they were from. It was safe to say, "It sounds like life can get tough for you there. Sol is a calm place. Tranquil and surrounded by magic. We don't have a sea of water. The islands float around in space, held in place by the Void's magic. We traverse the islands either through magic bridges, or portals."

"And the views are just amazing!" Lorencia chimed in. "Because of the vast amounts of magic there, almost every plant has at least a little bit of it, which is what they use to grow."

Devias nodded. "We don't have a sun or stars in the void, so the plants had to make do with the ambient magical energies there. The animals also have traces of magic inside them. Like the plants, they have also come to rely on the Void's energies."

"Yes, we can visit whenever we wish," he grinned, "it will be interesting seeing things from other worlds. It'll be fun," he decided to use the word fun as it was often used by others.

Roland chuckled a bit, "I suppose I could," between his calm nature and his elements he could do such a thing. "Though I'm hoping to focus more on my healing spell," his mini fireball changed to a small glowing multicolored orb, "good for minor wounds, so I plan on training it, making it stronger."

He couldn't help but overhear the discussion about the two's homeworld, "sounds a bit similar to my home, Avalon. It's an enchanted island, a part of this world, but dislocated, isolated." He had never seen the outside world till he came here, "it has large clans of mages."

Wei tilted his head listening to their description of their homeland. It sounded like such a magnificent, magical world, that he couldn't imagine living there. Despite his own magical ability, he didn't think he'd be able to fit in in a world that was filled to bursting with it. Plus, imagining islands just floating in space gave him the heebie jeebies.

Even considering that he liked to run on rooftops, imagining infinite space in every direction made the idea of falling feel so much scarier. It was scarier when you had no idea how far you would fall.

"Whoa... that sounds so cool. I'd be terrified to live somewhere like that. It sounds like its so easy to just fall off the side and plummet..." He shuddered.

The conversations merged into one at that point. "Avalon, you say?" Devias attempted to recall anything about such a place. If there were mages there, then it was likely they were in contact with ancient Void Walkers. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to recall reading about such a place. "I'll have to look into that in Sol's archives. If there are that many mages, then I'm certain our ancestors might have found their way there."

"Once they learned how to bridge our world with others, a lot of the old geezers went out to explore what other worlds we could discover." Lorencia explained. "Not all of them returned, but those that did wrote a lot a great deal about the worlds the found. They even took some plants and animals to our world to see how they reacted to the environment."

Devias nodded. He was clearly happy talking about their world since he was just as fond of spreading knowledge as he was learning. "But to address your concerns about falling," he turned his attention to the other student. "Falling out of the islands can be potentially deadly, but it does have a 'floor' under all the landmass. That floor is made up of intense magic, and would do more harm by overloading your body with it, than actually impacting with a solid surface. But to us, since our blood has been normalized to its energy, it doesn't affect us that much, but extended exposure could still cause complications."

"We've both been there before. You feel so light there, like floating on clouds. It was a part of a test to see if we mastered the basics of magic."
