Lyra blushed at his comment. She had so many different pairs and colors of the same gloves that it was good to know that he thought they were nice. "Okay." She nodded.

She slowly pulled off her gloves--and it had been a while. The fresh air against her palms immediately made her shut her eyes and and faintly smile. She opened them again and said, "All you have to do is put your palms out and relax."

Lyra watched as he unfolded his hands and put them in front of him on the rock. She took a deep, silent breath. Anything at this moment was possible. He could be a murderer. She didn't believe that one bit though. She hoped she didn't end up somewhere seeing him hurt. She had only just met him and things like that seemed... too deep for her to know.

She closed her eyes and thought about happy things. She lowered her palms towards his, her fingertips grazing his hand for a moment. She paused hovering above his palm and her face heated up. It was almost like she was about to hold his hand but there was purpose in it.

Her palms fully collided with his, and she gently grasped her fingers around the rest of his hand and part of his wrist. She could feel it. The black, darkness. It was seeping into her now, and swirling through memories. She remained quiet and still. Moving would disrupt her focus.

Eventually, an imagine finally came into view. It was blurry but slowly sharpened after a few seconds passed. It.. was... her?

She saw herself walking with Katsuo. They were in a field somewhere, alone. It was dark outside, but there were a lot of stars. This had to be the future. They sat down together on the grass, and looked like... they were flirting. Lyra tried her best not to rip herself from the imagery early but her body temperature was definitely fluctuating. Lyra sat with her hands spread out by her sides, when Katsuo place his hand gently ontop of hers. Lyra glanced at his hand that was ontop of hers now, and when she looked back up at him, he had the most stunning smile.

She had never felt anywhere near whatever emotion this was bringing out of her. He leaned in, at a tortuously slow pace, until she closed her eyes and he did as well. The next thing Lyra knew, she was watching Katsuo kiss her.

She started freaking out on the inside. The image rattled a bit, and so she tried her hardest to remain stagnant. The last thing she saw, Katsuo reached his other hand towards her cheek and Lyra lost it.

Lyra's eyes pierced open wide, and she let out a small gasp. What is she going to do? How is she going to deal with this? Does she lie? She can't tell him. This is insane... he'll think she's making the whole thing up! Oh god.

Lyra was in trouble. She was sweating frantically and it was visible she was extremely racked up right now. Katsuo was going to ask her what happened and if she was okay any minute now, and her mouth could only hang in silence.

She couldn't lie. She wanted to, really she did. But Katsuo was going to see right through anything she said in the coming moments, because of her behavior. She was never good at hiding her emotions. Now wasn't going to be an exception no matter how badly she wished for it to be.

Katsuo was admittedly a little nervous and excited at what Lyra might see, but he tried his best not to show it outwardly. For a short while, there was no response. She was probably still viewing whatever bit of his past or future her power had to offer...

She suddenly opened her eyes, as if waking up from a shocking dream. She looked completely racked up from it, which alarmed Katsuo.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He placed his hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her. This had to be something she saw when she used her power on him. "...What did you see?"

Lyra felt Katsuo's hand on her shoulder and she shook a little bit. She looked into his eyes and her mouth hung open. The look on her face was distinctly surprise and not of fear or sadness.

"I.... I.. I'm okay. No worries. Um..." Lyra paused. How would she tell him this... there's no way she could get away with minimal details. Her face completely melted. Her cheeks must have become the color of an apple. "Um um um.. okay.. so I saw.. the future."

That's as far as she could get before her mouth was open but no words were coming out. She was desperate to let him know but at the same time literally there was nothing more insane than what had just been shown to her. Lyra was highly conflicted.

"I... We... You and me.. were... walking. Yup. Walking... and... um. Stuff. There were lots of stars.. it was really pretty." By now Lyra was just dragging it out. The inevitable was that she was not getting away from this situation. It already happened, and it was something she couldn't even forget about if she wanted to.

Lyra covered her face in shame. Maybe hiding while she spoke would help the words fall faster from her lips. "Katsuo..." That was the first time she said his name outloud. It felt... weird. It felt intimate. Lyra just scared herself into oblivion.

"Uh. So there was a field we sat in.. I'm not sure where that is.. and you sorta... took my hand or.. something.. and we kinda... we kinda... kissed." As soon as the sentence finished she shut her mouth tight and dug her face even more into her hands. She was completely embarrassed.

She had no idea how Katsuo would react, or feel. He might be even more embarrassed. Like--they just met today, and THIS is the vision she has of all things? Just jumping gaps like that? Sure it couldn't have been too far off, but still! Her stomach twisted in the silence and she really hoped he didn't hate her.

She wasn't usually able to effect the future even if she saw it, but who knows maybe it's changed now? Unlikely but... how could it not? Lyra couldn't see this going there now, even if.. she wanted it to.

Katsuo listened as Lyra began, slowly, but surely, to explain what she saw. Was it embarrassing for her? Maybe it was something uncomfortable for her to talk about? Something seemed to be holding her back. Whatever it was, Katsuo would listen patiently... That was, until she mentioned the way he took her hand. Which seemed very intimate. It now felt like the subject of her vision was dangling above Katsuo, though it was out of his reach.

Then it dropped down from above and hit him. The way they held hands, and the way she seemed so flustered said it all. And then, she confirmed it. They kissed.

Sometime in the future, he and Lyra were going to kiss.

What she just said clarified and brought to the surface everything he'd started to feel towards her. At that moment, he realised something. He really liked this girl. All the signs she had shown during her explanation- the actual kiss, along with the way she covered her face in embarrassment- suggested that she just might feel something back. His face felt so hot it must have been the colour of a tomato.

He tried his best to push that thought far into the darkest corners of his mind, but Lyra's explanation of the future was too convincing. He couldn't stop himself from saying what he was about to say, but he had to be sure.

"Lyra... Does that mean you... Like me?"

Lyra slowly moved her hands off her eyes, to look at Katsuo. His face was the same shade that she expected hers to be. This was tortuously embarrassing. Her hands lingered over her mouth now as she waited for his response. She almost felt faint just from anticipation alone.

Then he... asked her if she liked him. Lyra's world froze for a moment as she blinked furiously. She tried to hide now by her bangs that fell passed her eyes.

"I.. I... I'm sorry. I.. never had a vision like that before. I know we just met and this is absolutely crazy. But.." She still didn't answer the question. She had to answer the question.

"Um." She bit her lower lip gently. "Y-Yeah.. I like you."

For sure this was way too much for him and he was going to freak. Who wouldn't--this whole situation was so random! Lyra was in full panic mode because she might have just ruined the first interaction with somewhere here, but more importantly someone she did actually like more than a friend. Everything was new to her and the rush in her veins spilled out her emotions without her even getting a choice. What were all these feelings...

Maybe if Lyra didn't have such a bad poker face she wouldn't freak people out with her reactions.

The heat of the moment was overwhelming her. She grabbed her fluffy thin hat, and pulled it off. She needed air everywhere she could get it. The top of her head was a poofy mess, and her ears popped out into the cold. She tilted her head downwards and stared at the rock she was sitting on. She couldn't look at him right now until she knew what was going on...

Katsuo nervously waited for her response; The suspense was so thick he could almost touch it. It dangled over him again, barely beyond his reach, waiting to drop on him. At the same time, however, he understood why Lyra was so hesitant. This whole experience must have been embarrassing beyond measure, and it showed in her face and body language.

Then, after a short pause, she said it. She actually liked him back!

If it was even possible at this point, his face would turn even redder. This was a new experience for Katsuo. And honestly, it relieved him a whole lot. It was as if the huge weight of suspense had just been lifted off his shoulders. What was once intense nervousness and suspense was replaced with nervousness and excitement. Somehow he managed to speak.

"Lyra... I'll be honest. I like you a lot too."
That was when she took off her hat, revealing freaking pointed ears. Kind, extremely cute and bubbly, and an elf to boot. If this had happened 2 years ago when he first arrived at Manta Carlos, he'd think he was dreaming!

"You're... an elf.... That.... is... Awesome...."

Lyra's eyes slowly looked back up at Katsuo. Her face looked shocked, honestly. Her mouth hung open a tiny bit, and she couldn't believe what she just heard. He liked her too? And.. a lot? Lyra felt like she was stuck in time. She didn't move, all she could do was just sort of stare in awe.

Relief washed over her soon enough and a burst of happiness spread to every inch of her body. Her ears perked back up a little and a smile managed to crawl it's way onto her face. Even though she still looked like she was beyond disbelief.

"Wait what...?" She paused a moment. She realized he didn't even know she was an elf and so the comment flushed her face again.

"Oh I had this hat on the whole time.." She mumbled to herself. "It's.. awesome?"

That's a first. Lyra never heard anything about her ears being awesome. In an earlier time, all anyone ever did was make fun of her for it. Everything at this moment was breaking barriers. Katsuo liked her despite her doubt and he thought her being an elf was cool. She was trying to take it all in but she felt such weird power surging through her.

Lyra shifted in her seat a few times, restless. She didn't know how to react to any of this. She hadn't felt this before. She just couldn't hold it all in, she was ecstatic. She moved herself to sit closer to Katsuo, and she hugged him softly.

In almost a whimper, she spoke, "I can't believe you think that's awesome.." Lyra sounded like she was going to cry but she held it back. She wasn't sad, not even one bit.

Katsuo's nervousness just earlier was beginning to fade. Lyra now knew he liked her as well, and while there was shock written all over her face, the smile that formed showed him that she received it well.

"Yeah, I do. Being an avid reader of fantasy novels, I've always wanted to meet an elf someday." He was so excited at this point, and his grin, though more sheepish, was back in all its glory. He honestly felt like a kid who just met freaking Superman. Except he'd met Supergirl instead and she'd just asked him out.

Then she hugged him, and he hugged back. Her embrace was soothing and he loved it. To be honest though, he was surprised at her disbelief. She sounded like she was going to cry, which worried him a little.

"What's the matter? Is it something I said?"

Lyra held on to the hug for a while, after Katsuo returned it. A smile painted itself more and more across her face as his warmth pseudo paralyzed her. It might be the most cliche thing, but Lyra could not have wished for a better first person to have met.

She squeezed him lightly, before slowly drifting back to sitting up. She didn't want to trap him or draw it out long enough for him to wonder when she was going to stop. It was really nice feeling though, and even though Lyra's face was still rosy, she felt a lot better.

Things really were looking up. This whole situation turned from normal, to crazy, to torture, then to... heaven? Maybe that was too strong of a description, but that's exactly what she had felt like through it all. She thought about the vision again, and her stomach did flips and more heat filled her face. Maybe she shouldn't think about that now, but she couldn't help it.

What a hurricane this felt like. It all happened so fast, and to think that her power is what lead her here--down this particular path. Lyra didn't believe in fate, but there was definitely something else that guided people somehow. She looked at Katsuo with a silly, sincere grin. She didn't know what to say now that it's all been laid out on the table.

She did know one thing for sure, though. In almost a whisper Lyra breathed out, "I'm.. really glad I met you Katsuo."

Katsuo relaxed again, it seemed like she was just enjoying the moment. He thanked whatever deity existed that they got to meet the way they did. When he entered this forest, he expected to have some time to himself relaxing. Instead he got something so much better.

"You know what, so am I."

As cheesy as that was, that was all he knew to say at the moment. He paused, again taking in the surroundings. This was nice.

Since things had gotten to this point, he figured it would be okay to... ask her out.
"So... There's this restaurant that recently opened. Would you like to... try it out with me?"
