The tall, dark-skinned boy entered the cafeteria, the usual noise of the student body drowned out by his earbuds blasting music. Of course, always earbuds; Alpha had a strong relationship with music, one that wouldn't disappear probably ever [and so expect them in many posts]. Being the new kid in school was never fun. Not fun at all. Having to walk into the lunch room, get your food, and hover around for-damn-near-ever to get a seat that wasn't in the bathroom and then ending up wasting time and never getting to eat...... Well, always one of the hardest parts of being new. Seeing everyone talk and hang out with their friends, and then just.... Not having a relationship with a single entity there, especially if you weren't the anti-social type.

Thank Doge in Heaven Alpha was pretty anti-social.

The rather quick boy had been one of the first into the cafeteria, meaning he easily had a pick of the tables. He got his lunch [which he most likely wasn't going to eat], walked to a seat bathed in light [for the warmth, duh] and just plopped down, pushing his tray off, adjusting his tiny uniform tie, and sat, easily scaring many off with his resting bitch face and imposing figure.

It allowed him to just.... Sit and watch everyone. Remember the bit earlier about being the new kid in school? Imagine being the new kind in a school where most people weren't even human and everyone had freaky abilities of some sort. And then there was you, with a tiny grasp of your full potential. An embarrassing grasp, really; probably less than what some elementary school-ers had that'd been born and raised on the island. Alpha just hated the idea of having to try and explain all that fluff to some prodding schoolmate.

Thank Doge in Heaven Alpha was anti-social.

Astria was just walking out of line to try and find a seat when she stopped suddenly hearing a rhythmic sound on the air. Very lightly but it was there. Music of some sort. An interesting kind she had never heard before. She walked towards the sound dodging people, chairs and tables while holding her orange plastic tray with spring water, seaweed crackers and fruit salad and sunflower seeds. Eventually she ended up behind the head of a guy who was just starting to eat. He had some sort of thing a ma bob in his ears and that is where this music sound was coming from. She could just make a little wind to bring the sound closer to her ear but instead she bent over beside him and placed her ear next to his where the whatchamacallit was in his ear to get a better listen.

Alpha was just minding his business, unaware of the inhuman being interested in what he was listening to. His food lay untouched in front of him, his forehead resting against his head as his fingers tapped out a beat on the table. The beat matched the one currently thrumming from his earbuds. He sighed, before twitching slightly as he felt the heat of someone near the side of his face. Which meant they were way too close.

He flinched back when the girl's skin touched his own, ear to ear. Scooting to the side and turning to her, his eyebrows furrowed dangerously. What.... In the hell? He didn't even try to think of why she'd do that. He figured weirdly creepy stuff like that happened all the time..... But, it was something to be pulled out at the root.

"Are you lost? Last time I checked, it was rude to touch a random person and invade their personal space like that. And I don't know you." He looked the cute girl over, his teal eyes examining. Well, she she looked normal...

Startled by this guys sudden reaction she jumped back dropping her tray. A loud crash rang through the cafeteria and all eyes turned to us. Astrial opened her mouth to say something but had no idea in hell how to react to this. She could cry, and she wanted to, not really knowing why this guy just turned and yelled at her and why his first words of introduction where not "hello, I'm...", so of course he didn't know me. Personal space??? What the heck was he talking about? Finally she stammered in a meek voice "Lost...no...yes...food place...eat. Follow music to you." Her face became hot, burning and her slightly Elfish ears turned red and then her whole body flushed a bright pink colour. She looked down at her dirty clothes and was deciding to run or let out a siren scream for help cause she didn't know what to do. Her ears then started to ring in her head.

He watched as she dropped her tray, unflinching as the crash rang louder than he thought it would. His eyes still examined her even as he felt many sets of eyes on him. Alpha was able to ignore them for like a minute before he turned and snapped at them. "Does everyone have an eye problem? She dropped her tray, no reason to stare." He grunted before turning back to her, considering her for a second.

Well, either extremely foreign or not human. He figured the latter; in this place, probably one in every two students weren't human. He sighed, before motioning her to sit. If she didn't know the norm on human interaction, wasn't quite her fault. "I apologize for snapping at you. It's normal for two people who've never met to stay a bit away from each other and not invade each other's personal 'bubble'." He shrugged, before realizing.....

She probably didn't know about the personal bubble. It was like trying to teach a very smart baby how to be normal. If the baby was a small.... Human-looking girl. "By personal bubble, I mean the small space around everyone. Imagine it like an invisible bubble around you. It would be rude of me to invade your personal bubble if I wasn't more than a new friend. Or, I was invited to, like when giving a handshake." He held out his hand, smiling slightly at her. "Make sense? My name is Alpha. I'm a Sophomore here." Hopefully, he didn't make all that too confusing.

She took his hand and shook it trying to make heads or tales of all this. His yelling, her dropping her tray, people staring and him talking about some sort of invisible bubble of space. Space had stars, not bubbles, and planets and stuff, she thought. What the heck was he trying to explain to her. He seemed to be calmer now which was good cause she only got yelled at if she did something wrong. Like the time she took her mothers heirloom of beautiful whitish pearls and broke them by accident. Oh boy did she get yelled at. She had just thought they were her moms normal jewelry. I had to spend weeks looking for more pearls to replace them that were the exact same color of white as the ones that got broken off and lost.

She meekly asks, "Are you done with your loud voice now? I'm sorry, I don't know what i did but I'm still sorry." People had turned back around and the noise of chatter in the cafeteria picked up again. She used his hand to help pull herself up to standing. Well, he's smiling so that must be a good sign. In the state of confusion she attempted a smile at him and it probably came out as a lop sided half smirk.

She seemed to not understand what he said. Alpha could tell easy enough from her face, which still seemed confused in more than one way. He sighed, before shrugging mentally, dropping it. She'd learn soon enough, most likely, and from someone better with words than he. Either way, it was out of his hands. He was supposed to be enjoying a quiet lunch consisting of no eating and pure music....

His earlier suspicions were confirmed when she said she didn't know what she did wrong. He snorted in slight amusement; yea, he sucked at this whole "introducing non-humans to the human world" thing. Alpha decided to just drop the whole thing and go with a simple "You got too close to me." Short and easy to understand..... Hopefully.

He looked down at the mess of her lunch and pushed his over towards her, shrugging lightly. It was drastically different, consisting of a single pepperoni pizza, a can Dr. Pepper, small bag of chips, and a single chocolate candy bar. "Not as healthy as what you were going to eat or even near tasting the same, but you can have my lunch if you'd like. I'm not hungry at the moment." He removed one earbud, the one closest to her, and turned his music back on. He doubted she understood the gesture [which just meant he'd talk and answer questions if she had anyway], but couldn't hurt to try, right?

With that, he went back to his book, not offering another word as he continued reading where he'd stopped, which was just shy of the middle of the book. And it was a pretty large book [Roots, which he was reading for the third time for some reason].

She looked over his food and opened the bag of chips and she tasted them. Salty like seaweed. Not bad. The wedged shaped thing with meat on it she wouldn't touch and she had no idea what was in the cold cylindrical container. And what was the long thing in the colourful wrapping. Well at least she liked the chips. "Wow these are salty," she says to him, "is there some juice or water I can have?"

She was watching him watch her. She wondered what he was thinking. "Oh and what kind of music was that that was playing on your machine? It had a good beat but the way they sang stuff was very different than from stuff I'm used too"
