Jaden almost frowned upon seeing the look in his eyes, but didn't do so. "And why does he watch over the school?" she asked him. She then shook her head, deciding that her last question wasn't important, and that it didn't really need an answer. "Nevermind. Anyway, if you can't go to the school, I'm sure there's somewhere else you can go. There's a lot of places around here."

"Its not safe anywhere..It would honestly be better if I stayed out here and froze to death...Maybe that's what i'll do..." He trailed off.
He took a step farther away from the girl. "I'm sorry you had to meet me..."

Jaden shook her head. "And what good would your death do?" she asked him. "No good at all. We're going to find some place that's not at the school, and we'll stay there until the storm passes. Got it?" Her voice was firm, but she obviously cared. She hated to see people die, especially if she could prevent it. And she was sure this was something she could prevent.

She shook her head again when he said he was sorry for her having to meet him. "Don't be, I'm glad I met you," she said.

"Are you truly?" He said coldly, his face masking the fear and depression once more, though it remained there all the same. This girl cares... He thought to himself. She really cares...Maybe this time it can be different..... He felt warmer inside, though. He felt that he could open himself up completely. That he could let her see and know everything, without being afraid of being hurt. But no...He could not risk such a thing. Not after what had happened before. He had only tried to open up once in his life, and that was when he was hurt the most. He would not dare risk the rest of his heart being broken...But..But this girl was different. She really cared...Really truly cared.... Alright, he thought to himself. Everyone deserves a chance, I know that better than anyone. So I will give her a chance to be different from them...Who knows...Maybe I can finally break this God forsaken curse....And be with someone who loves me truly....Despite my constant mistakes...

" 'Kay, I guess....Where did you have in mind...?" He asked her, trying-- and failing-- to hide the affectionate tone he held.

"Are you truly?"

The fourteen-year-old nodded her head. She was truly glad that she had met him. A new friend, another opportunity to change and not allow that old school control her. Besides, for some odd reason, when he had come around, her acid had stopped leaking from her fingers. "I'm truly glad I met you," she said again, offering an honest smile.

" 'Kay, I guess....Where did you have in mind...?"

She chose to ignore the tone of his voice, but that smile of hers remained. She looked around, biting her lip and just thinking for a moment. Well, if he couldn't go to the school, then somewhere outside would have to do. And she was sure there was a cave or something in these mountains; she had seen one, actually. That would keep them out of the snow and ice. "Well," she started, "I think there was a cave a while back. I think it'll be good enough." She slowly started walking in the direction it had been, looking back at Aeta over her shoulder.

"A...A cave?" He said, trying to hide the fear in his voice. He turned and looked down the mountain, and saw a man in black climbing up the mountain towards them. "M-Malkuth..." He started to shake, and fell back, scrambling in the snow to slide farther away. In moments, the man was at the top of the rise where Aeta had been standing, his sword in hand. "And so the beast finds a new victim," He said with spite. "Aeta, would it not be easier if I slid this sword through your neck?" He laughed, as Aeta scrambled back farther. Malkuth looked over at the girl. "Let me deal with this monster, and you'll be safe, girl," He growled, advancing on Aeta quickly.

Jaden turned around when she noticed he was uneasy with that. When she heard what she supposed was a name, she looked back down, noticing the man climbing up. She had a really good idea this wasn't good. She watched as Aeta scrambled away, and when the male had a sword and threatened to kill the boy she had just met, her icy blue eyes narrowed. Her fingers started burning somewhat, just getting ready to use her acid. It was by choice this time, though.

"He's not a monster," she said, sticking up for him. "So I see no reason for you to have to put that weapon of yours through his throat. Perhaps I haven't known him long, but what does it matter? Give me one reason as to why you consider him a monster and want him dead."

"There is only one reason to kill him and only one reason is needed," Malkuth took a step closer to Aeta. "Nero has ordered his end, and anything Beloved Nero wants he gets, without fail. This boy is a menace to the abyss and must be killed now while we can control him. If he breaks Nero's Curse, then there is no way to stop Ezvan's Ascension...." He took another step closer. The darkness swirled up around him. "And I have been watching you two," he murmured. "If you try to use that acid on me it will only bring pain to Aeta. So you had better find a different way to attack, if you want to die..."

"Nero has ordered his end, and anything Beloved Nero wants he gets, without fail...."

Jaden rolled her eyes, obviously not liking that answer. "So this Nero is a spoiled brat, then? Always gets what he wants, no matter what, to the point of wanting someone killed? Sure sounds like he is." She knew saying that might get her hurt, seeing as how this man had called Nero 'beloved'. Not like she cared, really. She glanced at Aeta, not liking that this guy was walking closer to him.

"And if this Nero is a spoiled brat, it must mean you're a puppet that actually does what he says... why? Do you actually agree with him, or is it for other reasons? What, were you promised power or the like?" She shook her head, mumbling a few words under her breath. She just kept her eyes on the two men, knowing she would end up helping no matter what this guy said.

"If you try to use that acid on me it will only bring pain to Aeta. So you had better find a different way to attack, if you want to die..."

The young female shrugged her shoulders. "I don't need acid to fight, you know. And, well, apparently you think that me fighting you will result in my death. How do you know that?" She unsheathed her sword. If fighting with a sword would hurt Aeta, then she wouldn't attack with it; she would just block.

Malkuth laughed. He had already planned out a hundred and thirty three different variables for his strategy, but he had not thought of a little girl fighting him. He was completely and utterly taken off guard, and it made him hysterical. He turned, facing the girl. "Then I'll let you have what you so desperately want. I'll fight you first, and kill Aeta after this skirmish..."
