Compared to the other estates that dotted the nicer parts of the city, Yskaandrar manor was decidedly quaint. Much smaller and without as many comforts, it was as simple as Oriana would allow herself to live. Up in her study, she sat in a comfortable chair and enjoyed her morning tea. She was reading a tome, a history of the Yskaandrar clan, with names and parentage listed. A rather odd call had reached her some days before. A member of hr clan, a certain 'Coaxoch' had resurfaced after apparantly leaving the family some decades before. And now she was wanting to reconnect.
Oriana had been skeptical at first. It was a bit convenient after all. But given her own issues with acceptance within the clan, she couldn't make snap dismissals. If the claims were legitimate, she would appreciate the welcoming back of a family member who wasn't brought up in the anti-outsider politics that had been pervading the clan the past decade. So she decided to extend an invitation to the manor to this supposed prodigal cousin. And in the meantime of waiting, she would do a little research.
Once she was satisfied that the name Coaxoch at least existed within their recors, Oriana allowed herself to wait until her guest arrived. She instructed one of the staff she had hired to let Coaxoch in through a side door, rather than the main entrance. No use kicking up a fuss with the rest of the clan. Oriana sipped her tea thoughtfully. Hopefully, she could get on this clanmate's good side before the naysayers sunk their talons into her.
