Warren walked out of the academy and looked to the sky. He couldn't see Sunshine, so he mentally called out to her.

"I've just been flying around the island for a few hours," she said. "Do you wish to join me? I can come back and pick you up."

"Maybe in a bit. I wanna take a seat in the courtyard for a little while. I haven't done that yet." Warren sat on the bench in front of him.

The faint hum of nature mixed with the background noise of active school life created an ambiance that was peaceful to him. He closed his eyes, letting the air of calmness wash over him. As he was starting to doze off, Sunshine's voice filled his head again. He shook his head to rid his mind of the drowsiness. The two engaged in an aimless conversation, though Warren kept his eyes closed.

Lizzy

Lizzy was sitting on a bench, alone. Her eyes glowing with the unmistakable orangish-red glow of her powers. If one were to look up, they'd notice a small bird, with a water ballon firmly in it's beak, its eyes glowing the same color as Lizzy's. Yes, she was possessing a bird. And yes, she was looking for someone to drop that water ballon on.

Circling above the courtyard, Lizzy finally spotted her target. Warren. The same Warren who'd ruined her prank in the lounge, and had a weird voice in his head. She still needed to get him back for that, and this was the perfect opportunity.

Slowly, the bird began circling above him, looking to drop its payload. Thankfully, Warren seemed too caught up in something else to even notice. Finally, the beak opened, and gravity did the rest. The water ballon making rapid progress towards its intended target. Very quickly Lizzy released the bird from her possession, before turning to watch Warren. This was gonna be good.

Warren and Sunshine were asking each other obscure trivia questions to see which one would fail to find an answer first. The fact that they shared a body should've meant that this wasn't a contest at all, but they both had a certain advantage: Warren had much more knowledge of human life, and Sunshine had an absurdly good memory.
"Okay, my turn," Warren thought. "Which "orange" came first: the color or the fruit?"
"Neither," Sunshine said, "because I'm orange, and I was born thousands of years before language was even developed on your planet. Therefore, I came first—"
Warren gasped. Water had just been splashed on him from above, drenching everything from his knees up. He sat in stunned silence for a bit before relaying what happened to Sunshine.
"Good thing I'm on my way back," she said. "Looks like I'm gonna have to spear someone through the chest."
Warren disregarded her joke. He looked around for the culprit, eyes immediately falling on Lizzy, who was also sitting on a bench. He stood and approached her.

Lizzy

Lizzy couldn't help but laugh as the ballon hit its mark, soaking Warren from head to toe. She quickly snapped a photo of the aftermath. Of course, her celebration of her revenge was short lived, as Warren began making his way over to her.

"Oh, hey Warren.." She said as he walked up."Geez, what happened to you? You look like a drowned rat." She said, while she gave him a quick look over, a fake look of concern on her face.

Warren stopped in front of Lizzy and crossed his arms. "Hello, Lizzy," he said. "I was actually hoping you could answer that for me. I had my eyes closed, and it took a little bit for me to realize I had been attacked with water. Did you happen to see anyone else around here?" He was ninety-nine percent sure that she did it somehow, but decided to hear what she had to say before making accusations.
Meanwhile, Sunshine was talking Warren's mental ear off. He had tuned her out on his way to Lizzy, as she was just making exaggerated threats, but he decided to tune her back in.
"Would you be willing to take that offer now?" she said. "You'll dry off faster if you're in the sky."
"That actually sounds like a good idea," Warren thought. "Okay, please come pick me up."

Lizzy

"Attacked huh?" Lizzy asked. She wouldn't call dropping a water ballon on someone an attack, but if that's what he wanted to call it, so be it.

"Mmm, a few people. But I wasn't really paying attention, so who knows." she said with a shrug. Did Warren think she was watching him or something? She had been, but only because she knew he was about to get drenched.

Warren deliberated. He had no reason to not believe Lizzy in this moment, but she had a reason to do it: revenge for cutting her previous prank short. She certainly seemed like the type to do such a thing, but again, there was no evidence to implicate her.
Just when Warren was deciding to let it go, he heard the flap of Sunshine's wings. The metallic phoenix flew over the school building at a pretty low altitude and began circling above Warren. The wind from her flaps rustled the leaves of trees.
"Hey, Sunshine!" he yelled out loud. "Do you think you could look around the area and see if anybody's moving away from here?"
Sunshine opened her beak and her voice echoed, but it didn't seem like she was yelling. Her voice was just naturally loud. "Are you sure you want me to do it?" she asked. "I might do something I regret!... Sorry, that's not funny. I should stop making jokes like that." She ascended and flew in a larger circle.

Lizzy

Lizzy grinned. Warren couldn't prove she was the one that did it. He had no evidence against her, and he clearly hadn't seen her possess a bird, so she'd was basically home free.

"I mean, it wouldn't be that hard to prank you, if I wanted to, of course." Lizzy said, clearly trying to rub it in. She opened her mouth to continue, when she heard loud flapping, much louder than any bird she knew of. Hearing something fly overhead, she looked up and saw a big flying.. thing. She wasn't quite sure what it was, though Warren soon answered her questions.

"That's Sunshine?" Lizzy asked, a bit surprised by the sudden arrival of the voice in Warrens head. She'd always assumed that Sunshine was more or less a part of Warren, rather than a giant flying bird thing.

Warren smiled at Lizzy. "Yes, that is Sunshine," he said. "I'm actually the one who named her, you know, because of her color and how she glows. The glow is much more noticeable at night." Before he could explain how he and Sunshine came to know each other, the phoenix in question circled back around and reported her findings.
"There are some people hanging around the area," she said, "but none of them were reacting like they'd just thrown water at someone."
Warren sighed. "I guess it's not really that big of a deal. I'll just have to be more attentive next time to maybe catch someone in the act." He briefly consulted Sunshine, then turned to Lizzy. "Hey, do you have a fear of heights? I was just about to take a ride on Sunshine and was wondering if you'd like to come along."

Lizzy

Lizzy stared at Warren for a few seconds. "You're not actually serious." She said, yet she got the distinct impression he actually was.

There were a fair number of reasons Lizzy didn't want to take a ride on the back of Sunshine, such as the fact she was fairly certain Sunshine wanted to kill her following her first meeting with Warren, or the fact that Warren still suspected her in the "attack" and Sunshine definitely seemed like the type to take revenge for those sorts of things.

"I'll pass." she said, deciding not to take the risk. She was perfectly fine where she was, on the ground.
