"From the Sixteen-Hundreds." Legion looked at her a minute.

"Obviously, you don't believe me. And, actually, there is no way to prove it. So, I'll just have to accpet that, and deal with it." He looked at her for a moment, and entered the gas station they had seen from a few yards back. He found the Gatorade, and stocked up. Legion went to the counter and paid with cash he had gotten from an ATM machine. He didn't have an ATM card, but with his dagger, he managed to jimmy open the lock, and take a couple hundred dollars.

"From the Sixteen-Hundreds."

At this, Adelina just couldn't stop herself. She burst out laughing, leaning over and clutching her stomach. Oh, boy, that was funny! The things crazy people could come up with these days! It was more than hilarious. A lot more than hilarious. "Pfft, yeah," she said sarcastically. "And I'm the Easter Bunny!"

She shook her head, giggling a little bit still. She decided to humor him. "So what were the 1600s like? Hmm?" she asked, trying to fight back the rest of her laughter.

She just stood there as he bought Gatorade, watching. This was way too amusing to go off subject with. Way too amusing.

Legion ignored her. Who cared if she didn't believe him. "I have nothing to prove to you. Here I was, trying to be nice to you. Fixing your sword. But you don't seem to care." He looked at her, fire and anger flowing through his veins. "No wonder you're bitter, and depressed. Try being nice once in a while. It might help, maybe." He left the gas station, leaving her behind. He didn't care what happened to her.

"... Here I was, trying to be nice to you. Fixing your sword. But you don't seem to care."

Little guilt was felt when he said that. He had been the one that wanted to invade on her life. She didn't need kindness. It wasn't required. It was his fault for wanting to cheer her up, not hers. But, then again... Adelina never blamed herself for these kinds of things. It was always someone else.

"No wonder you're bitter, and depressed. Try being nice once in a while. It might help, maybe."

Oh no he didn't! He had not just criticized her and left her there. Well, that had been rude.

The seventeen-year-old grumbled a few words under her breath before she stomped out of the station, following him. He was in for it now. "Oh, yeah?! Well let's see YOU be nice when EVERYONE you love DIES!" she shouted at him. She hadn't mean to shout out pretty much her whole past to him... oops. "You're not the one who keeps getting everyone killed off, little by little! You wouldn't be any different if you were me!!"

He turned around to Addie. Everyone stopped in the street to look at them. "Try saving your family from a bolt of deadly lightning, and ending up here! Leaving everything behind! Try leaving your girlfriend behind, without her knowing what happened to you! How about leaving your whole family, everything you cared for behind! I barely know anyone here! I was nice to you, but you had to be rude to me! You had to scoff, and not care. You treat me like dirt, I'll treat you like dirt!" He turned, and took off to God knows where.

Adelina wasn't going to let him run away. This fight was far from over. "Oh, yeah?! Well at least they're still alive and can live knowing that you gave yourself for them!" she screamed. "Why don't YOU try having your husband jump in front of you and get killed by his own MOTHER! Why don't you try accidentally killing your own child because his grandmother used him as a SHIELD!"

No matter what, Adelina would always think that she had it worse off than everyone else. A lot of bad stuff had happened to her in her life... and the good never seemed the last for long.

Legion turned one last time. "They're dead, genius! They died over three hundred years ago! I never knew what happened to them! You know what...I don't care anymore." He turned, and left, for the final time.

As soon as Legion got back to the school, the Principal came up to him. "You," the Principal said. "Avyre, is it? Ah, it doesn't matter. You need to be registered, don't you?" Legion looked at him, and nodded slowly. In a matter of minutes, Legion was registered in the Academy.
