The last few months for Steven had been a mix of good and bad. His last weeks of he previous school year had been exceptionally busy and stressful with the amount of school work had been annoying, but he had been rewarded in a way by heading back to the states for awhile to visit his cousin before having returning for the beginning of college life on Manta Carlos. The first month back had been settling into things on the island of magic and the supernatural once more but Steven felt as if he was once more, and getting use to his new lessons. It was today that Steven had finally found himself with spare time since he had come back.

Steven found himself in one of the islands parks, a local he always tended to enjoy. So where to get some exercise and sunlight after how much time he normally spent inside. Finding a seclude spot, Steven took of his jacket and unbuttoned the top couple of buttons of his shirt. Steven started with a jog, back and forth between where he had dropped his jacket and a nearby tree. Warming up his body properly, before stretching out his muscles to prevent hurting himself.

It was then Steven worked on more then just his body alone, pointing a hand out. A light blue ray burst forth and moving his hand it slowly built up into a frame of ice, not much more the two horizontal poles, connected by a third at the top of each of them. Leaping up, Steven grabbed the centre pole and held on. A difficult task for an object made of ice. However Steven managed to do so, and pulled himself up starting a set of chin ups. While simultaneously continuing to use his power over ice to prevent the frame from melting away.

With a pencil lightly balancing in her hand and her thumb on her chair, Evangeline could be found sitting on a bench in the park sketching away. Today had been extremely long, and if there was anything she loved to do when stressed like this it was come to the park and start to draw. Drawing remained the love of her life, and it made her immensely happy to indulge in after a stressful day. As such, she was currently deciding on what, exactly to whip up on today in particular.

By natural instinct she simply chose ti begin sketching the landscape around her. Manta Carlos always seemed to have such beautiful scenery, so the parks made a good subject for her use. However, as she sketched out the outline in pencil she began to realize that she was rarher in want of a human subject. Yes, landscape was always nice, but she did need some practice drawing people, and she thought this piece in particular would look nicer with a person in it.

Then, she saw it. Not too far away was what appeared to be a man exercising. Even though she had no idea who he was, she soon decided that his figure and general appearance would be a perfect candidate for her painting. Without a second thought she began to incorporate him in, sketching him out mulyuple tines before deciding on a pose that satisfied her. With that, she reached into her backpack and pulled out an array of new tools: colored pencils and paints. She began to thumb through both in an attempt to decide which one to use, growing quite distracted with the process.

Steven continued the pull ups until he finished the set he had decided on. Letting himself drop from the bar of ice to the ground on his feet heavily. Streching his arms out again to let them relax after being used so much. Sighing he looked over the frame of ice and could see that it had been starting to crack in places. He had been trying to keep it solid but without over using his abilities to do so.

Even so he could his mind cool. With his hand he pointed at the ice and with a few blasts of fire it started to melt away. The heat rising inside just enough to push away the effect of having been using the ice powers so long. While also warming his hands again. Even so he was sweating from the work out, so wipped his forehead off with the bottom of his shirt. Scars underneath showing breifly as he did so. Before heading over to his jacket to grab a drink.

It was then he notice someone a little way off, appearing to paint? Or maybe draw he couldn't tell from the distanct and the fact her hand were obscured by what she was working on. Looking around him, he noted that the scenery was nice but the direction she was looking clearly had him in a more central. He hoped he hadn't walked into the scene she had been working on without noticing her. Grabbing his jacket, he threw it over his shoulder pulling a bottle of water out to drink as he moved towards her.

"I hope I didn't spoil your scene." Steven said once he reached her, unaware that she had actually been just as focus on him as she might have been on the surronding he had been part of. "I didn't notice." He added still thinking he had simply walked into where she had already been viewing without realizing.

Evangeline was so completely absorbed in her drawing that it took her a moment to realize that she was actually being spoken to, or even that she'd been approached. Instead, she continued to delicately start adding paint to her creation, beginning to flesh out more dimensions and give it some color. It wasn't until she looked up that she realized the man she'd been drawing was now right in front of her. She then started, and placed a hand on her chest.

"Oh - Oh, goodness. Hello!"

She felt extremely embarrassed at having not noticed him at all, and a small amount of color tinged her cheeks at the thought. How could she have been so careless? She had no idea what sort of question he had asked her either, as she hadn't been able to process it correctly. Something about... a scene? And he hadn't noticed something? Was he referring to her painting? That seemed most likely, but what about it?

After a moment, she decided to simply her canvas around and show him the painting she'd begun working on. It featured not only the surrounding scenery, but him right in the middle. The color deepened as she realized she had no idea if he would consent to being drawn or not, and sincerely hoped it would turn out alright.

"I - I hope you don't mind that I was drawing you. The scenery was beautiful, but I thought it would look nice with a person in it, and you seemed like the perfect one."

The girl didn't seem to hear him at first ad Steven had been about to speak again in an attempt to grab her attetion, only for her to turn what she had been working on towards him for him to look at. While her cheeks flush seemingly embarrassed by something. Mentioning that hope he didn't mind that she had been painting him. While the painting was impressive that wasn't what caught his attention the most. Her words had.

Reaching a hand up to his head, Steven scratched his scalp nervously. "That's amazing. I don't mind but I wouldn't exactly call myself perfect for art." The words she had used had taken him off guards not exactly use to be on the recieving end of compliments and more prone to try and throw them out to other instead. "I'm flattered."

If he known she had been depicting him in her art, he would have not interrupted her and let her continue. "You're welcome to draw me anytime though. I like admiring art so how could I tell you not to." He asked rethorically.

A small laugh escaped Evangeline at these words. He seemed surprised in a way, and it amused her.

"Nonsense! You look just wonderful, you'll make the drawing look lovely too."

She carefully turned her canvas back around and began to analyze the work she'd done so far. She was always her own greatest critic, and today was no exception. Annoyed with the way she'd done some of the lines, she reached down to fumble in her bag before pulling out an eraser. Now that the man was closer she could see his features better, and there were some things she wanted to correct there as well before moving on to more color.

His next words rather made her curious and happy. An admirer of art? It had been a while since she'd encountered anyone on this island who loved art in a similar manner to herself, so this was rather exciting. With a cheerful smile on her face, she looked back at him while she continued to fix her work.

"Admiring art? Ah, are you an art lover too? Or even another artist?"

It was Steven's turn to blush this time, when the girl instead of mocking his modesty, doubled down on her compliment that she was great for her art piece, before turning it back towards herself to keep working on it. "I wouldn't call myself a connoisseur by an meaning of the word. I admire hard work and talent in any discipline. From the academic to the aesthetic." He explained, neglecting to mention how such a mind set left him nearly incapable of focusing on any one field long enough to reach the level of skill as others. A jack of all trades, a master of none, summed up Steven quite well.

"I'm not really another artist, but I have occasionally used my abilities to cheat it." Steven said, placing his hands together and rubbing both of them. Some steam poured off his hands, as one hand created ice and the other fire. As he pulled the pair apart between them was a small and slightly dis-formed facsimile of a rose made from clear ice.

Evangeline shrugged mildly at this, a small smile still on her face. Well, she didn't quite mind if he didn't consider himself any kind of "expert" on art, the fact that he seemed to appreciate it in general was enough for her. She also rather liked that he appreciated hard work in general; she'd always enjoyed the company of people with that sort of personality. A small, contented humming noise escape her as, for a moment, she became entirely distracted by her painting once more.

However, she looked up with interest as the other began to demonstrate his own abilities. She had never seen someone use both fire and ice before, and it intrigued her greatly. In fact, a happy little laugh escaped her as she saw the rose emerge from his hands.

"How pretty! Even if it's quote on quote "cheating", I do still find it lovely."

She then had an idea - why not do the same with her own abilities? As such, she set her painting aside and pulled out a blank sheet of paper, on which she began to sketch a rose. It was slightly hurried, causing it to be a bit messy, but she decided it would work either way. As soon as this sketch was finished she took a deep breath, hovered her hand over the drawing, concentrated, and - there it went. A somewhat deformed model of a rose was now sitting in her hand, which she held out to him eith a smile.

"Well then thank you." Steven said with a chuckle. It was nice that she still liked it cheating or not. In fact so much so that she suddenly pulled out something new to draw on and went about doing so. Steven watched with a quizzical expression in the sudden switch from her main picture to another. A question that was answered once it appeared she had finished. Pulling a rose of her own from the page.

Steven eyes widened in shock, obviously he knew his own powers by now but what she had done was amazing. "You can make art real? Thats incredible." He told her as she held out the rose to him. Steven hand moved to her, exchanging between their hands the rose creations. Thinking it was a shame that his wouldn't last for long but at least it wasn't summer anymore and it might have lasted until she found some way to keep it cold.

Realising what her power was now, his head snapped back to the main painting that he had been in. "Don't tell me you could pull me out of the painting though. The world only needs one of me." He said half joking, half curious if she could use her power in such a way.

Hearing her ability complimented caused Evangeline to laugh a little out of embarrassment. She gently pushed her auburn waves out of her face and fiddled with the strands, looking rather flustered. Once she took Steven's own rose she shivered slightly at how cold it was, but nevertheless stared happily as she examined its details. True, it was cheating, but this was still fascinating to her, not to mention so delicate and sweet.

She nodded when he questioned whether or not she could pull him out of the painting, setting her rose aside on the bench and pulling it over to her. "I could, actually! I've experimented with pulling living things out of paper before. I don't know that it would do much, though - humans come out sentient, but not really sapient? They mostly just walk around, stare at stuff and make little noises - kind of like a little pet. I can do animals, though!"
