Claire Dayen and Attel Minwater
This time of the year was special to her. She enjoyed the slow change in between winter to spring, as it signified that slowly, she would be able to not have to sleep inside. Though she still slept outside as snow fell around her, it was still winter, so some nights were a little too cold to cuddle up with Attel and the other wolves. Coming back from the school, this would be her first try to sleep outside again. As she held onto Attel's fur tightly, she scoped out the area. It was rather quiet, but then again, school had just gotten out. Attel would always wait for her by the tree line, eager to get out of the view of so many sceptical eyes. Many were a bit concerned that Claire had a 6 foot wolf as her only real friend. There were a few others, that she enjoyed to be around, but no one got her as well as Attel did. Sniffing the air, it was smokey, with a hint of tree sap, from what she could smell. "I sense someone else today." Attel said calmly to Claire, as his head looks to the left. "Then let's go investigate it." She smiled as the words come out of her mouth. "As you wish." He turned to the left slowly, to make sure that she didn't fall off of his rater large back. "I can feel it too. There are some of ours." She said with a glare to her left, as she tried to see if she could spot the source of it.

She had been at the school less than a month and she could already say with certainty that, among her favorite places to be, other than her room (which was pretty nice, but getting used to a bed was rough after living most of your life living in the wilderness) was the great forest that seemed to surround the school.

After class she could be seen frequently fleeing into the forest with a pair of wolves at her side, one blacker than night, and the other whiter than the whitest snow. They had appeared with her on the island one, half dead and mumbling incoherently. They would not allow her to leave their sight, nor would she leave them, so that when they finally come to, they were together on the island they had been trying to get for the last thirteen years.

Now she ran through the woods, Zephyr and Valor never far behind whenever she could. The changing of the seasons always brought to her, a sense of melancholy as she loved the chill bite of winter that seemed to waken her, the moment she stepped outside, however so too, did she long for spring when the world came alive again.

Though it was still cold, the chill did not bother her as it did others. As evidenced by the jeans, over the knee black boots, and dark blue tank top she wore for protection against the chill.

She loved running, the wind and her wolves her constant companions. The freedom it gave her as her legs pumped beneath her, carrying her wherever her heart desired, the scent of nature returning to her, but another scent stopped her dead in her tracks, her wolves beside her, before she was able to finish taking a breath.

"Someone is coming," Zephyr snarled, black lips curling over ivory fangs.

"It seems like two wolves, though others are following slowly behind them." Attel said to Claire, informing her of the things she didn not so easily pick up on. "And?" She felt as if the wolf she was ridding one was hiding something. "A human." He added on after a long pause of silence. "Hm." Claire pondered the thought, that she wasn't the only girl, or person, that was one with the wolves. "Seems to me you have some admires." Attel chuckled in his huffy voice. "Seems so." She giggles for a second, but then lowered her body into his fur, sensing them coming closer.

"I want to see this person." She tells him subconsciously, not wanting the to hear if they were close. As he heard, he sniffed around, darting his head or the right as he picked up their scent. Going through a large amount of bushery, Attel, as well as Claire, spotted them. She stayed low still, engulfing herself in his fur, wanting her wolf companion and ruler of the wolves (at least beforehand) to settle this awkward meeting.

Zephyr and Valor stood up beside their girl, though if one were to look very closely at her, they would see she was in no way human, though she had lived among some during her travels. She stood next to them, she would not leave them to face this possible thread alone.

Zephyr felt his pack brother bristle, this wolf was a King among his kind, yet he was no ruler that he, Valor, or his precious young one would recognize as their ruler.

Speaking up, he growled, "We have no quarrel with you, what is it you seek from us?"

As she heard the wolf utter a few words to them both, Claire stood proud and tall for them all to see. Choosing to focus on the human looking person, she glared down. Though Claire had some words that she wanted to say, it was Attel who spoke.

"The young human atop my back wanted to see for herself who or what was lurking in our forest." Though it wasn't entirely true that it was their forest, Claire had lived in it for the past few years. This was her home, though she wasn't opposed to sharing it, even though Attel's tone and words made it seem like that.

"I do not want to cause harm, in fact I was just interested." Even though she was fashioned with a baggy black sweater and dark blue, ripped jeans, somehow it fit with her two different lifestyles. Fitted with it, she wore her favorite black combat boots, as well as a flower crown that her wolf friends had helped her make. Of course, they had only collected the flowers. "It isn't everyday that I see someone on this vast island that would rather spend time with the wolves than humans." That thought had always amused her. Though this girl looked more at home with the wolves, having two by her side, perhaps even thinking of herself as one, she had trust. Of all the animals she had come across, ranging from rabbits to foul, mixes, she had either scared them or cared for them in order to gain their loyalty and friendship to her.

Valor snorted, their forest, last time he had checked, which had been yesterday, the forest belonged to the school, not to some lame wolf like this guy, and was about to say so, when Zephyr gave him a stern look, warning him to be quiet.

Kukri saw the other girl and felt herself being studied and she didn't like it, she didn't want humans, she just wanted her wolves, but this girl, she looked like she had lived them all her life too, or at least part of it, she trusted that one enough. With a grace belonging to the fey, she stepped forward and smiled saying something in Irish, and her wolves whined.

"My name is Kukri Wolfchild, these are my brothers, Zephyr Bloodking, and Valor Farseer. I must beg your pardon, we were led to believe that these forests were ruled by the school, that they had no Alpha," yet she opened her green eyes, daring the wolf she stood before to challenge her, she showed no fear of the wolf, that had he the desire, could kill her in an instant.

"As the borders of these lands bear no marking, it can only be assumed that they are either free for the taking or that they are free to all, the latter seeming the more likely of the two. We bear you no ill will, nor your kin or kith."

She looked at the girl trying to decide if she was a friend or a foe. She had never had a friend before, she had lived with her wolves her entire life, its why she came out here every chance she got, because here was where she was most at home, here with Zephyr and Valor in the wilds was the only home she had ever known.

She would not be driven from here, and the determination, the will, and the sheer stubbornness and defiance shone in the emerald depths of her eyes. She would not be chased away again, never again. Not after she had come this far, not when she had finally reached the place she had spent most of her life trying to reach.

He could tell by the sudden change in the wolves' emotions that Attel had of course upset them. Upset, she tugged on his fur with both of her manly hands, she didn't want to be enemies with them. 'Calm your tone down.' She said subconsciously to her furry friend, then took her gaze down to him, though he paid her no mind. As she saw the girls' lips move, she was took back as she didn't understand the tongue. Thankfully, her wolves were able to translate. "Nice to meet you all, Valor, Zephyr, Kukri." She struggled to say their names properly, as they were not exactly common ones.

"Welcome. This is Attel Minwater and I am Claire Dayen." She added on, calming her usually tsundere and closed off attitude. It was different when she was dealing with her own. "They are the schools, as they have no been handed to Attel or me." She clarified, as she was right about Attel's words upsetting and confusing them. "He just calls this forest, as well as really any area his, as he was used to being alpha, and has been for a time now." That was true, as most of the common wolves just accepted him as the alpha, mainly for his size and powers.

Attel glared down at the girl, as their similar colored eyes met together. She was test him, as if she thought he would do anything. He scoffed, closing his eyes and turning his head away from them. He was smarter then that. "They are free, we just usually expect that most don't live here, unless they are animals or like me." Claire said as she straightened her back, wanting to feel taller than her 5"3, even though she was on Attel, who was too tall. She looked back at the girl and smiled lightly, wanting to show that she wouldn't hurt them, her in particular.

Zephyr had recognized the other male as an Alpha, that much was clear, but he had been an Alpha too once, a long time ago, in a different land. "I know the feeling, I was an Alpha once, long long ago."

Through his one good and remaining eye he studied the girl, she was young, yet she had bonded with the wolf, that now stood before them. What had she meant when she said, 'like her?' What was she? He looked at his own charge, his pack sister, his and Valor's reason for living.

Retuning hers and the wolf's gaze he nodded his head, "Thank you, we, again, mean you no harm. We are merely running," he said gesturing to the girl who stood beside him.

Kukri nodded, resting her hand on her wolf and turning back to the girl, she smiled, her green eyes warm, though they were still guarded. "Thank you, it's nice to meet you, Claire and Attel."

Attel wasn't surprised that one of the well kept wolves had been in the same position has be had been. If only they could both be alpha. Though he did enjoy a good fight whenever he could, he could tell that Claire was trying to stay on even ground with their new found acquaintances.

Claire noticed one of the wolves observing her. She stayed calm, keeping her gaze just past the girls' head. She didn't want to let on that she knew he was staring. He could stare all the wanted, it wouldn't frighten her at all. "Running?" She wondered the statement to them. "Do you all live here, if so, where?" She asked, wanting to know if they were around Attel usually stayed. By a cave, with a pointed rock and a small pond to the right of it.

She was glad when the girl smiled back, it made her happy, even though she was still unsure if she could trust them to let her guard down. Even if she did, Attel wold be here to rip off all three of their heads if needed.

Kukri nodded, "We live at the school, we arrived here not long ago," she said in response. The girl had doubt in her eyes, she knew what that was like, most her life had been spent running from the people who wanted her dead, every shadow, every person she met was someone she didn't know was friend or foe. It was why she had been raised in the wilds of the world.

At the girls question to running she nodded, "Getting used to this place is something that is not easy, running in the woods is one of the few things that calms me down, so I come out here with Valor and Zephyr whenever I can."
