Admittedly, she had not quite known exactly what to get as a gift. She had gotten a list detailing many things, from toys to food. After wandering from store to store, trying to find a perfect gift, Ania simply decided to get a nice little box full of many different kinds of tea. Coming home, she wrapped it neatly, but was a bit unsatisfied with the way the box almost looked ... empty. Thinking for a while, she settled on making a few miniature cakes, ranging from chocolates, vanillas, caramels and even a festive candy cane cake. Decorated all in their red and white frosting, Ania was pleased with the way it had come out, and the tea and cakes were all arranged in a particular order. Wrapping the box with the most festive paper she owned, the blue and red cat papered gift was adorned with bows and ribbons. Stepping back, Ania stuck a pretty dinosaur sticker on the top, for good measure.

Taking her gift to the designated meeting room, she perched herself on a chair, hovering over her medium sized box. She had been pleased to discover that her partner had been William, a person she had met previously in the taskforce duty. At least she didn't have to wander around the room looking for someone she's never met before.

<div align=center>William had been happy when he'd seen who he'd been paired with, he'd met Ania before, and he'd liked her, she was nice to him. He'd spent a little time mulling over what to get her, he wasn't good at buying things for other people, but in the end he'd picked up what from afar looked like a little ball of fluff, it turned out to be a little plush toy of a black cat with white paws and a white muzzle, there was a little blue ribbon tied around his neck, the little glass eyes stitched onto his face matched the blue of the ribbon.

He'd unfortunately had trouble with wrapping it up, William had never really wrapped presents before, and instead of wrapping the toy up he'd more or less wrapped himself up, the sticky tape had ended up getting stuck to his hair, he'd panicked and well, it'd all gone more or less downhill from there. He'd bought a little gift bag instead, it was much less messy than wrapping paper, and far less complicated. Wrapping paper caused strife, William made a mental note to never ever use it again, that had been frightening. His eyes flickered over to the girl, and he smiled a little, waiting until he caught her eye to shuffle over.</div>

Catching sight of her secret santa, Ania waved, a pleasant smile slipping onto her face. She had been waiting with barely contained excitement; Christmas was Ania's favourite time of year, because it meant she could give things to people and make them happy. Hopefully her small contribution could make him a bit happy. Picking her gift box up, Ania bounced up to her friend and held out her gift.
"Hi~! I made you this! I hope you like it!"

<div align=center>Bill waved back, shuffling over to the girl. He liked Christmas too, he liked putting the tree up and he liked opening his advent calendar. It didn't feel the same when you bought one yourself, though, it wasn't special. He only had a very small tree in his dorm, he'd put it on his chest of drawers, but it was covered in tiny little candy canes, or at least it had been, he'd eaten most of them. He smiled brightly when she greeted him. "Hello!" He chirped, holding a hand out to pass her the little gift he'd bought for her.

He took the parcel from her, and thanked her softly. The boy giggled softly at the paper it was wrapped in, it was cute. He set to carefully opening it, his face lighting up as he lifted the lid. "Ah! Thank you so much." Everything was arranged so neatly that it made Bill happy to look at it, he would have liked to drink all that tea now, it looked fancy, there were a few different flavors in the box, ones he'd never tried before. "You must have spent so much time on this, everything looks so pretty and nice."</div>

Once the gift she had made was safely out of her hands, Ania set to tearing open her gift bag. A squeal presently followed when she fished a little cat toy out of the bag. Hugging it close to her chest, her eyes were bright as she watched William unwrapping his own gift.

Bouncing a bit, her hand came up to stroke the cat's head. It was a soft plush, much like a real cat's fur. She would probably end up carrying it around with her. "Ahhhh! I wanted to make sure it was a good gift. I'm glad you like it, I only had that paper left." Squishing her new toy into her chest, Ania couldn't help but laugh. "This cat is so pretty. I love it so much. Thank you!" Ania couldn't restrain herself much longer, and wrapped her arms around William's waist."Thank you! Thank you, thank you!

<div align=center>William let out a little squeak of surprise at the hug, giggled, and reciprocated it, patting her affectionately on the head. He was happy that she liked it, he'd spent a long time picking it out. The little cakes in the box she had given him looked good, cake was hands down his favourite food, Ania seemed to know that, which made him smile, he remembered telling her it. William liked it when people remembered things that he told them, it made him happy. "I'm glad you like it!" He chirped, his face lighting up at the girl's reaction, he liked making people happy.

He liked the wrapping paper, William was sentimental, despite his tidy nature, he liked to keep things like that, he didn't like to throw wrapping paper away, especially if it had cute little pictures all over it, he'd never once thrown away a Christmas card either, he had a box under his bed with every card he'd ever received within it. He felt guilty throwing them away, people had taken the time to write them for him, why should he throw them away? "I thought you would like it when I saw it, I'm looking forward to all this cake." A small, boyish giggle escaped him.</div>

Ania was pleased when she was hugged back. She felt so very happy now. She never really got to spent time with her family for the holidays, and friends made them so much easier. Drawing out of the embrace, Ania nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! I'm going to take it everywhere with me."When she had some time later, she would sit down and think of a name for it. Perhaps even a personality and a voice. She had a habit of projecting souls into toys, and always cried when they were lost or damaged.

"The cakes should be good! I learned many new recipes while trying to find good flavours. I've never had to make a candy cane cake before. That was different. Crushing up candy canes into dust was probably the most difficult thing she had done for a cake so far. She would probably never ever do it again, either.
I don't think anyone else has gotten such nice gifts. I'm going to treasure this cat forever! Well! Anytime you want cake I'm happy to make you some." Hopefully the toy was stitched tough, though, because the poor thing was going to take a lot of damage in it's life, going everywhere with her.

<div align=center>William was happy with that, he didn't really get to go and see his family during the holidays either, they didn't really want him there, so he didn't really go back. He'd been promised by Gabriel that he could spend Christmas day with him, even though the other boy didn't really celebrate Christmas at all, Bill was grateful for him being there. That was another way the two were similar, William tended to get emotionally attached to plush toys as well, a teddy he'd had since he was a young child tended to travel back and forth constantly between his dorm and Gabe's, he didn't sleep without it, and tended to panic when he couldn't find it.

Candy cane cake? He'd never had that before, that sounded exciting. "I didn't even know you could make candy cane cake!" He blinked, and tilted his head to the side, he'd established within his mind that she was a much better baker than him. "Those are my two favourite things." He noted, though you could only really get candy cane around Christmas time, in Bill's opinion, they should have been available all year round. "I don't think they have," he answered, "maybe you're just really really good at presents."</div>

"Yes! It's very, very sweet. And slightly minty." A scowl crossed her face; it sounded more like she was describing toothpaste. Very sweet toothpaste. Toothpaste cake? Is toothpaste cake even a thing? It would be interesting to try. A bit gross, but interesting. It was a bit difficult to make candy cane cake, especially with a shortage of candy canes. Herds of feral children often swarmed the candy aisles around the holidays, and she tried very hard not to look into their little eyes as she plucked a large box of candy canes from the shelf they were after. It was scary, to say the least.

"You're good at presents too! I like this present. I don't need anything else now." Cradling the cat against her cheek, Ania inhaled it's vague scent. "I think ... It's name is Henry. Yes. Henry Cat." A pleasant smile crossed her face as she named her new toy. Henry was going to be her best friend. Ah, a best friend as a toy. How .. lonely.

<div align=center>"That sounds good." William answered, "you'll have to give me the recipe." He wondered where she had baked it, he didn't have an oven in his room, and neither did Gabe (Gabe did have a bath though, which was probably the reason why he spent most of his time over there, there wasn't much room for him to sleep there, since the bed was only really designed for one person, but that didn't really stop him, it was just cosier that way.) William smiled as he told he was good at presents, and thanked her very softly. He was lucky to have been paired with each other, it was nice to be able to give a gift to a friend rather than a random stranger.

"That's a cute name!" He told her, "it suits him." The cat could be friends with Teddy, he'd never really given it a name, but he supposed Teddy was a name, it was short for Edward, wasn't it? Though if he thought about it, Teddy and Edward had the same amount of syllables, so it wasn't really a short name. "He can be friends with my teddy." He noted, pleased that she liked the toy so much.</div>
