Sitting just off the ice, tying up the laces of his pink ice-skates, Tristin gazed around the cold lake area. His white hair matched the powdered snow that dusted lightly across the grass, tied up in a high pony-tail. It was cold, yes; something he did not enjoy, but he still liked winter, which meant he just had to deal with it.
Wobbling slightly, he stood up; throwing his boots under the bench he had been sitting on. Cautiously, yet eagerly hobbling down to the lake where people skated, throwing snowballs and doing figure-eights. It had been a while since he had last skated, the boy was determined not to make a fool of himself and confidently stepped onto the ice. The first few strides were uneasy, and then he got a handle on things and was soon skating along the ice just as well as anyone else there. His cheeks and nose were blushed with pink from the chill, even his ears. This dragon would spend time later, warming up next to his fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.
But he felt lonely amongst the people, whom all had friends, or partners to frolic around with. What was he to do but skate idly along for what, an hour? Join a snowball fight? Bug a random person to death? His skating halted for a moment, and he stared down at the ice below him. With so many people around right now, shouldn't the ice be breaking or something? He would dread something like that, falling into chilled water as the ice broke underneath. He duck his skate into the frozen surface for a moment, pursing his lips before continuing to skate around the outer edge of the frozen lake, slowly.
