(i have room in this thread for two - three candidates)

"So, folks, I've already spoken about the drill... you're going to wait for me to segue in, and introduce you guys, and I'll start to facilitate the debate and try to keep it under some sort of regulation, okay?" Jefferson eyed his watch, reading a pocketbook in one hand and sitting on a plastic chair. There were only two decent chairs around - two couches - and he had offered them to the guests already. The two couches sat facing each other, with a mic in between the two.

He listened to the beat of the currently playing song - a lively tune, meant to drum up interest for the upcoming segment. By his own mental countdown, he had a minute and a half, and he let his guests know as well. "We'll begin in a minute and thirty seconds. If you have anything you want to get out of your systems first, feel free to do so."

The song went on its course, and his watch began to tick down, until the song started to fade and he turned his attention back to the consoles. Five. He adjusted his mic and his chair to face the guests.

Four. He finalized the mic's position.

Three. He reached out back, a finger on a switch.

Two. He leaned back and pulled his mic closer.

One. He smiled, and

Zero.

With a flip of a switch, the show went on-air, and Jefferson switched personas. "Okay, you all better listen up - you all better listen to the Lord when he speak, okay?"

Lord Jefferson West was in his element. They were on air, and the radio waves felt just like a strange bath of radioactive fuel to him, bringing him to greater levels of energy. His guests might probably be disconcerted by his brash live-it-loud on-air persona, as it was a large contrast to his earlier manner. But they'd still understand him, unless they weren't well-equipped to process dialogue.

"It's election season and y'all know what that means, people - there gonna be a lot of people around asking in every way possible for your votes. And the competition is fi - erce! So here I was, here I was thinkin', 'hey, what if I got them here?' I get an audience, they get an audience - and everybody's happy 'cept those poor folks who couldn't get this time on-air."

He turned around, flicking another switch, abruptly turning the other mic on. If anything was caught in there and broadcasted by accident, well, not his problem. It was all a part of both broadcast and politic that people had to be aware. "Okay, it is time to meet yo guests! Candidates... your time to shine - introduce yo selves!"
