The wind blew threw his hair, his grey wings propelled him forward. He turned and smiled at the sight of Valerie, her dragon form was magnificent, truly beautiful, purple like her eyes, a sight to behold.

He fell back and flew besides her, she was still getting used to her wings, he knew her family was teaching her how to fly, but he always made sure to make time to fly with her, "your doing amazingly dear."

This didn't feel as magical as it should've.

The dragon gracefully flew through the air. Her wings flapped in a steady rhythm. Stars lit up the night sky; streetlights lit the city down below. Next to her was her vampire boyfriend, much smaller and with eyes filled with wonder. He admired her external beauty often and wasn't quiet about it in the least bit.

But what did he really see?

The traumatic thoughts soured what should have been a nice evening. A gesture of love. Yet Val felt more doubt than anything. There was a hidden sadness to her eyes.

She was jolted out of her mind by the appearance of a bridge. She saw one of those connectors that brought two buildings together. It was right in front of her face. She swooped over last minute, her body twisting as she leap over the hurdle with grace. Her wing clipped a bit. She roared and shakily landed on a building. She laid on her belly. Her body curled up as her wings lowered. She had enough flying tonight.

Van watched her, he saw something in her eyes. He knew things had been hard for her, to suddenly be free from centuries of slavery must be shocking. Then the bridge cane, she moved up, while he went through, he was able to glide through the support wires.
He saw her clip her wing, and land on a building. He landed beside her, he approached her, placing an arm over her slender neck, "I know there's much to adjust to.....your rediscovered abilities....and your freedom, abd I can't promise that it will be easy, I can promise that I will always be here is you need me." He understood that there would be moments where she'd need to deal with things on her own, but Van was patient.
