Enter the Washout[Open]

Ignus's lamp had washed up on the beach some time earlier in the day. He was simply too preoccupied with trying to remember the warp panels to get to Sabrina's gym to even notice he'd finally hit land. It was early evening when he finally did. The outside may be small but inside the lamp was spacious. Like an oddly decorated apartment. The djinn grabbed an apple and exited his domain in a huge plume of fire. Before he even checked his surroundings, he stretched. Being cooped up in his lamp riding currents in the ocean for several years warranted such action to say the least. Especially taking into account that his element was fire.

"Alright, where the hell is this?" he asked himself as there was no one to ask. He was on a beach and there were signs of civilization that much was clear. His ears twitched at the sound of someone approaching his general direction. His tail lashed as he turned to face them. His scowl growing ever larger at the realization he was going to have to interact and interactions with people might lead to a contract."You live here? Where am I?"

He sized up the woman that he had addressed as she answered his questions. She was alone and by his old world standards rather scantily clad. He had to factor in that time had moved on outside and this was a new era. Clothing aside, she was young and quite attractive. She also had a magical aura about her though he couldn't determine its exact nature as of yet. For now though she would do for a guide though the djinn would still remain wary about her.

"Manta Carlos Island," his voice trailed off as he attempted to recall any memories of such an island. This place was completely new and unfamiliar to him. She was a student, evidently somewhere down the line women had finally forced men to see them as equals to some degree. Her answers seemed sincere enough though. I'm Ignus, Ignus Agni," he omitted his species as a precaution if she hadn't figured him out based on his lamp.

Ignus was debating on how and if he would break it to her that he was a Djinn. Probably not, was his initial thought as he retrieved his lamp and attached it to his waist. Then she just asked him straight out about it after introducing herself. She had even noted his lamp as further proof. Then again, only an idiot would believe him if he outright lied about it. He wasn't about to do that though.

"I'm not granting you three wishes if that's what you're getting at," he scowled. It was almost always the go to question when he was first awakened. But then he came out on his own, so for the moment he wasn't anyone's Djinn yet.

He arched an eyebrow, would he like some assistance? Of course he wanted some assistance, he'd just washed up on the beach of some unknown island. And some hot red head just offered him assistance. What kind of idiot turns that kind of help down? "I just washed up here earlier today," he said with a frown,"So I suppose you could be my guide."

"But like I said, I'm not granting any wishes," he said it in a tone that implied he could even though he couldn't. He still was getting a vibe she was more than just a pretty face, potential new master or partner? Either way, for now he'd test her to see if she was actually worthy.

He listened to the wish that he couldn't grant even if he wanted to. Her humble request was simply to find true love. What was she stupid or something? Probably a hopeless romantic spoon fed too many happy ending fairy tales as a child. She just stood there eyeing his lamp, playing with her hair. He inhaled and exhaled, purging himself of any negative input he might have regarding her wish. "Oh well, at least you're not willing to wish for something so horribly irresponsible," he forced a smile as every terrible scenario of that wish played out in his head.

So there was a city not very far off at all. Ignus knew he was probably going to be on the island for some time so learning the island was going to be a must for him. Plus she offered him food, he couldn't argue with that. Or maybe he could, as his conscience caught up with him. He pushed those feelings down, opting to see if she would actually make good on her promises. "Are you sure? From the look of things you just got here and it would't be right for me to just put you out just like that. Especially during your own free time," the words came out before he could stop himself. It looked like he was going for his conscience regardless.

She was confused at his hesitation when he attempted to politely turn her down. He was confused that she was this willing to help. Of course, his bad masters were more numerous that his good ones in times past. It was the reason he opted to just go dormant than deal with petulant royalty. Harmony had given him her assurance that it would be fine.

"Smiling at me like that, damn you. Blind kindness like this is how people get mixed up in bad shit. Oh well, this will probably work out for both of us in the long run," he grumbled despite the fact that he took her hand. In spite of his harshness he was slowly taking to her. It came from a place of mild concern for the stranger. Not to mention, the djinn was still testing her in a way.
