Everything was going more or less according to plan right until Maylynn sat back down.

Enelen's eyebrows went up, his eyes fixing on the massive pile of paper as he cleared his throat.

"Unless you have a natural talent for speed reading, there's no way you'll be able to finish that pile in the time I have left in my office today. While I ask that you not share it around--especially to any students--I have no issues with you taking it home and working through it at your leisure." And if Maylynn did plan to speedread it... well, then that would just be impressive on its own.

Oh, was he not supposed to sit here until he was done? He cocked his head over to Enelen. Yes, he could read fairly fast, but at the same time; he most likely wouldn't get it all done in the time that it seemed he had. "Oh, I can do that too." He wasn't one to keep his 'homework' waiting, so that would mean that he would definitely be staying up and reading this all on one sitting. "I'll read it all by this time tomorrow though, so you won't have to wait long for me to learn the materials." He smiled swimmingly. "But thank you for letting me have the option." He bowed his head shyly, unsure if he was supposed to leave or not. "Also, Sir, I'm rather good at organizing things, if you were in need of that type of assistance." He grabbed his stack of papers, even though his weak arms were not very good at holding them all up. "I will keep in touch." He bowed again without dropping any papers, as he walked out the door and left for his dorm.~

It was, all things considered, a fairly good first meeting. They'd covered the basics, his new TA wasn't a complete idiot, and he wasn't going to have to spend the first few weeks of class making the boy forget everything he'd learned about magic. Small miracles, and all that.

"Then I look forward to seeing you in class in a week. Just like with students, if you aren't sure on something, you're welcome to drop by my office for clarification. If I need anything before class starts, I'll send word, but this is an introductory level course, so I don't expect we'll have much trouble." Things tended to be easy in courses like this one.
