Rayana had not paid attention to the younger vampire since she had pushed her out of the way. She had other matters to attend to. She was looking at the surface of the small lake, eyes void of anything resembling emotion. Even for her, such a hit could have been deadly. It had done nothing more to her heart than bruise it a little. Had it been Cordelia in her place, it probably would have killed her. Cordelia was a vampire of only a few years of age after all.

She raised her hand and clutched the open wound as if to prevent her black blood from escaping her body. She wasn’t breathing, but she didn’t need to. Rayana could feel the blood seeping slowly in her lungs as well as out of them as a matter of fact. The black haired woman turned her gaze to the younger one, empty eyes looking back at the blue ones. If she wanted to say something, the elder would have to clear her lungs, doing so would be messy. She needed air to speak after all.

Turning away, she let herself fall into a wet cough, some blood splattering her hand. Thinking nothing of it, she nonchalantly wiped her hand in the grass next to her. It did no good at getting it all off her hands though, because they were still tinted black.

‘’Why are you caring now? I seem to recall you harbouring a well of negative feelings towards my person.’’ She replied in an uninterested whisper. ‘’I am as alright as I can be in this state.’’

It certainly hurt like hell, but she wasn’t about to admit that. Vampires actually were killed with blows to the heart, and this was nearly one. Rayana drew her knees up to her chest in a wince, crossing her arms on top of them. She had returned her gaze to the lake. She had avoided the second question on a pride basic, not that she was offended at the notion of Cordelia helping her, she just didn’t believe her state required external help. Painfully pushing herself to her feet although managing to only look stiff while doing so, she stumbled lightly when she stood straight.

‘’Let’s get out of here.’’ She suggested, making no move to help Cordelia get to her feet. ‘’He could still be watching.’’

Just as stiffly as she had stood, the elder started in the direction of the school, even if she would have to walk all the way over there. It was still better going there than going to the city. She could easily imagine the reaction the doctors and nurses would have to having a vampire in their public hospital. Their take at her being a vampire surely would not lead to anything good for her. Their reaction would probably be amusing to watch, but she was in no mood to laugh at their puzzlement at the moment.

‘’I suppose you must have questions.’’ She said without turning.

Cordelia was even more nervous when Rayana spat out blood. She swallowed, looking at the older woman who she honestly hated. But even so, no one deserved this. Not even someone who wanted to take over the world.

Alright, maybe that kind of person deserved it. But the twenty-year-old wasn't sure about how the elder was on that subject, since, after all, she had defied Aage.

This was so very confusing...

‘’Why are you caring now? I seem to recall you harbouring a well of negative feelings towards my person.’’

She sighed softly. Why did she even have to bother explaining herself? She hated doing that. "I do. But that guy is going down and I can't let him get away with hurting you," Cordelia said. "He'll just do it to others and eventually, one of those others will be someone I care about. So I'm stopping it now."

Had that explanation even made sense...?

As Rayana stood up, Cordelia was going to protest, but bit her tongue. Once the elder stumbled, though, she wouldn't keep her mouth shut. "You should rest," she stated. "Walking will only hurt you more. If he's watching, let him watch, I'll take care of him. You're not going anywhere in that state, and that's FINAL!"

She was definitely a mother and could totally pull off ordering patients around in a hospital. Oh, life was going to get fun.

And Rayana was walking now. Cordelia growled quietly, walking ahead of the elder and in front of her now. She walked backwards so as not to keep her back to her. "I do have questions, but now is not the time," she said. "Right now, you need to wait for the bleeding to ease up and rest! Why are you walking anywhere?!"

Rayana didn't care the other hated her that much. The elder laughed bitterly. It sounded just as hollow as any other bitter laughing.

"If he is watching, than there is no hope for us." She replied looking at her. "If he is watching, then hew is only playing cat and mouse."

Determined not to be stopped, she looked ahead just above Cordelia's shoulder, not looking at her at all. She was walking as straight as possible, looking as regal and as prideful as she usually did. Except for her usual grace that was rather absent.

Unfortunately for Cordelia, rayana was a mother as well, one that did not take kindly to be ordered around. So, the order was sompletely ignored. The growl she didn't ignore though and replied by a snarl showing her bloodied fangs.

"Don't you growl at me miss." She said in a cold tone.

Wait for the bleeding to stop? Was she so ignorant as to not identify her injuries. The bleeding would not stop on its own, that she was sure of. It would probably continue to bleed until she was completely dry. That would be unpleasant.

"But we do have the time, launch those questions and I will answer if I can." She replied. "I am walking towards the school, because I need to get there."

Simple answer, simple question. She was in no mood to give long explanations. She could not go to the city because the hospital would have an adverse reaction to vampires, she was sure of that and well, the farther away from Aage, the better.

There were a cvouple of words that could describe Rayana, one of them was stubborn. Then, of course, there was violent, easy to anger, prideful, regal, caring, cruel amongst other things. So, it was not a young vampire that was going to intimidate her.

"I can't really go to a normal hospital now can I?" She said in a slightly mocking tone.

Crossing her arms across her chest, she hid the view of the wound form the other's eyes and she continued to walk. This was beyond her ability to heal since the bones had not only been broken, but blown to bitss. Some of it had repoaired, but now instead of small shards, she had larger shards.

She'd have to get them back into place if she wanted to heal the wound.

"If he is watching, than there is no hope for us."

An eyebrow raised. "And why is that?" Cordelia asked. If he was watching, then what was there to worry about? It was only watching. And if he did anything, the twenty-year-old could take care of it. Even if she was young... she could totally handle herself. She could keep Rayana safe, too, she was sure.

"Don't you growl at me miss."

"What do you want me to do?" Cordelia questioned, eyes narrowed. It seemed that even when she was worried about anothers health, she was still the same old Cordelia. "You didn't listen to me. Did you expect me to purr or something?" She paused. "And don't order me around."

Honestly. She would have hoped the elder had more sense than that.

"But we do have the time, launch those questions and I will answer if I can."

She just stared at the woman. She was silent, uncertain if she should really ask right now. Talking would only help her to loose energy, wouldn't it? Well, whatever. Rayana had said for her to, so if anything happened, it would be her fault. "So, is he a partner or something?" she inquired. "Taking over the world together? Why won't you help him if that's the case?"

"I can't really go to a normal hospital now can I?"

That tone hadn't been appreciated. "Don't take that tone with me," she said, giving another slight growl. Haha... it was amusing to annoy Rayana. She couldn't help herself! "I know you can't go to a regular hospital, I'm not an idiot. Forgive me for wanting to help then."

With that, she just turned her gaze ahead, sighing in slight frustration. Some people...

She shrugged off her lack of worry as the unintelligentness of youth.

''Because that would mean he would be only playing with us. I prefer not to find out.'' She explained.

Even if Cordelia considered herself to be enough skilled to protect Rayana from Aage. It certainly was a misconception Cordelia would have to desillusion herself on that point, Aage hadn't survived that long without being good at something. Rayana herself didn't fancy to try herself against him. And that was saying something.

''I expected you to respect my dignity and not say a thing.'' She replied evenly.

Carrying herself with total nonchalance, although there was a definite tense of her muscles. Then there was a snap of a few bones that only paused her for a second, it was a small piece of bone in her chest getting back into place. Not pleasant. She only gave a small blink at the sound before continuing.

''My partner?'' She answered sneering. ''Far from it little vampire.''

It seems as if her question had highly offended the elder.

''You still have much to learn of the world. Nothing is as it seems.''

That last one was not said in an offensive way, simply a fact.

''No black or white, only shades of grey.'' She whispered for herself.

She seemed absorbed by some thoughts that were running through her head. She had met one of the few shades of white... So long ago, and he had not come for the vampires. That she was nearly sure of. Why would he care for those such as herself. Rayana didn't hear her last sentence, she was lost in her thoughts, pushing one feet in front of the other, looking ahead unblinkingly.

''He is part of the darkest shade, one that does not bother to spare those who are innocent, one that only cares for himself. Why would I want to associate with such a being.''

Once the younger vampire was not looking at her, a sad smile graced her lips. She took a silent step closer and simply grazed a claw on her shoulder.

''I'm sorry for that.'' She simply said.

In fact, she wasn't really, at least the young vampire was still alive.

''I expected you to respect my dignity and not say a thing.''

Cordelia snorted and laughed to mock her. "Pfft. Dignity. Trust me, I respect how you spoke to him back there. But just because you're royalty or something doesn't mean that I can't speak my mind, does it?" She looked at the woman out of the corner of her eye. If one wasn't allowed to speak their mind in a country ruled by a king or queen, then she would have started an uproar. She loved to break the law sometimes... but just sometimes.

''Far from it little vampire.''

Hey eye twitched. "I'm not little." She was twenty! That wasn't little!

Well... maybe it was compared to Rayana.

''You still have much to learn of the world. Nothing is as it seems.''

Cordelia was tempted to yell at her and tell her to explain already, but she held her tongue. She just grumbled something under her breath, something that sounded like 'get to the point'. She was a rather impatient vampire.

''He is part of the darkest shade, one that does not bother to spare those who are innocent, one that only cares for himself. Why would I want to associate with such a being.''

She snorted once again. "Oh, I don't know, maybe because you've acted like that before?" She rolled her eyes. "Honestly. Think for once! And why does he want to do this, anyway?"

''I'm sorry for that.''

At this, Cordelia blinked, looking at Rayana. "Um... ok then?" she said, an eyebrow raised slightly. What did she want her to say? 'Oh, that's fine, go ahead and make me bleed whenever you want!'? Ha. Like that was going to happen.

She let the other's laugh pass over her head as she did not care. Rayana was beyond a caring point at this moment. Vampires could not die from injuries like this one nor would they from lack of blood, but it certainly took its toll on one. She had to rely on her more than strong will to continue walking and standing at the moment. If she could just get in a bed and not get out of it for a few years she would be happy.

"I never said you couldn't. I had simply expected you to leave me alone and leave me whatever dignity I have left right now." She replied.

She meant by this that she didn't want to be helped, that she was perfectly capable of going There by herself and that she wanted to keep whatever pride she still had. Stubborn as she was, Rayana was sure she could succeed in her self appointed task.

"How do you even know I am not of a perfectly normal bloodline?" She asked, not recalling ever having told the other.

The black haired woman audibly stumbled but caught herself on a branch before continuing. She could not afford to look weak. Her eyes narrowed at the accusation, she had never acted the way Aage did, never. Aage was a cold blooded killer, one bent on world domination. One she hated with a passion.

"Never compare me to that buttface ever again." She told icily. "I do not act like that, I never have and never will."

That she could remember that is, but she knew that she had killed a whole lot of people, mostly innocent people, once, when she had lost control. Her only daughter had just died and in a suspiscious event no less. She suspected Aage had had a hand in it, she suspected him of having killed her precious Selena. The little girl couldn't even have been considered a child yet because she had been so young.

"He wants power, its as simple as that. he is a power hungry, egocentric, egomaniac, sociopath fool." She explained. "I do not act like that. I am 'under his orders' to undermine his plans abd projects and world domination and anniliation."

The air quotes, around the words 'under his orders', were implied and nearly hearable in her voice. It was plainly told that she hated that situation. There was a plainer explication, she was a spy, one that always made his plans go askew.

"If my people ever were to turn against him, he would be in a hell lot of trouble." She continued with a shark's grin. "But I have to destroy any support he might have in the vampire community first."

Yes, because many were too scared to go against the several millions years old vampire. Its not like he had any qualms against using the call to be obeyed, but such actions were frowned upon if not used to 'call' people to one's self. She had to gather a collective 'voice against him.

"You should know that i have amazing acting skills." She said. "Plus I do not kill for the pleasure of it, but each desth has a purpose."

She usually killed criminalstoo and thus did society a favor. Indeed, just like that obese man she had killed in the middle of a crowded boulevard, in front of a whole lot of witnesses and people. That one had been to gauge their reaction and she had been in need of some blood.

"He wants the world because he is an evil sadist." She then added.

Evil people never gave reasons for their actions, they were plain evil anc nothing more could be said. She had been feeling more weak in the last few minutes and thus didn't see a small obstacle on her path. Her feet caught a protuding root and she fell on one knee, groaning from the strain on her injuries. The black haired woman then fell foreward, one hand clutching her chest and the other arm supporting her weight and thus preventing her from completely falling down.

She tried to push herself upright, but she failed and fell back on her knees. Her black eyes blazed in anger at her humiliation, but she still kept looking foreward, not intended to give the other the pleasure of seeing her give up.

"I never said you couldn't. I had simply expected you to leave me alone and leave me whatever dignity I have left right now."

Cordelia rolled her eyes. Had Rayana really expected her to keep her mouth shut and 'leave her dignity alone'? She wasn't that kind of a person. She didn't usually keep her mouth shut at all. She would have thought that after the encounters she and Rayana had had in the past, the elder would know that by now. "Don't expect what won't happen," the twenty-year-old said simply.

"How do you even know I am not of a perfectly normal bloodline?"

"Would he want your help if you were?" she questioned. She was of a perfectly normal bloodline and when she had said something he ignored her. Maybe it had been because she was a young vampire, but still, if her bloodline had been something else she would think she would have gotten more respect. "One person can't take over a whole island, because as you said, Rome wasn't built in a day. So you must have some sort of connection."

"Never compare me to that buttface ever again."

She cleared her throat to show that wasn't going to happen. "You know I'll just compare you to whoever I want, right?" she said, hoping Rayana realized that.

"I do not act like that, I never have and never will."

"Riiight..." Cordelia said, just the tinniest bit skeptical. Well, maybe more the tinniest bit... but she was skeptical all the same.

"I do not act like that. I am 'under his orders' to undermine his plans abd projects and world domination and anniliation."

The vampire stared at her. "Then tell him to go screw off and don't take orders anymore," she said simply. It was what she would have done. Then again, Cordelia didn't really have much common sense. She didn't understand that there was a line one just did not try to cross.

"He wants the world because he is an evil sadist."

And that gave him enough reason? Ha. That made total sense. Vampires these days... ok well maybe of the old days, since he was old... well, either way, someone needed to stop him. One just couldn't go take over the world because they felt like it. Everyone would have to live in fear, and that was something Cordelia was not going to let happen. She had eternity, and she wasn't going to live forever just to be afraid of doing something a stupid old guy didn't like. "Then we've got to stop him," Cordelia stated as though it would be a piece of cake.

It seems Cordelia had not bothered to turn and it was fine by her. She didn't need help, right? Her unoccupied hand went from the ground to a nearby branch and Hauled herself in a kneeling position. Her back was straight, as it always was. She snorted at the other's question, well, it could be considered a statement too.

"Some sort of connection? None except I have the largest vampiric country under my thumb." She snorted.

She shook her head at the sheer stupidity Cordelia was displaying. Its not like she would survive telling Aage to go screw himself and unstick his head from the place where the sun never shines. He'd probably maul her to death and beyond. The result would not have been pretty at all.

"Yeah right, as if, and have him conquer the world in two days because he is angry? Have you no preservation instinct at all?" She asked the other vampire.

She gave a glance heavenwards, it could not be helped, this generation worth of vampires was worthless. They had no common sense and were not educated, what did sires do? Abandon their childe? That wasn't something you should even think about. Normally, a sire had to stay with the childe until he or she was educated properly. But it seemed that even the sires were not educated at all.

"That's what I am trying to do if you payed any attention to what I said." She replied.

"Some sort of connection? None except I have the largest vampiric country under my thumb."

Cordelia turned around now. She ignored the statement for the moment, wondering if she should rub it in the elder's face that she did need help. She decided that she would. "Do you need help getting up?" she asked with a smirk. She gave a moment for her to respond before continuing. "You have the largest vampiric kingdom, eh? And where is this kingdom?" An eyebrow rose. She had never heard of a vampire kingdom. Then again... her maker had never bothered to tell her much. That was probably why.

"... Have you no preservation instinct at all?"

A look of puzzlement came to the vampire's dark blue eyes. Preservation instinct? She had no idea what that was. That probably meant that she didn't have it... hopefully she could blame her sire for that. "And that would be...?" she questioned, that eyebrow still perked.

"That's what I am trying to do if you payed any attention to what I said."

She blinked. "Oh," she stated simply. "Well then how are we going to do it?"
