'Kitsune', he said in almost in awe, his breath heavy and panting, as he laid on his back, his head turned towards her, long hair untied and lying on the hard floor, and eyes wide open, and curiously looking at her from the ground. Spirit's head was also heavy on his chest, his left hand buried deeply in the fur, petting it as the creature slept, stopping him from catching his breath again, so he just laid there for the minute, thinking.

'I used to love that stuff.', William said, his lungs filling with air again as Spirit moved his head to the William's stomach. He may not be a puppy anymore, however, he still remembered how it felt to simply eat, play, and sleep, just to wake up so you could do it all over again, and he liked to remind himself of that from time to time, especially because, as a creature of spirit, born from the power of his summoner's soul, he was never really supposed to know such things.

'Japan, all that stuff about their culture. Mythology. It seemed really cool at a time.', he carefully turned around, Spirit's head now lying on his back, as he looked at Savannah from a different angle from before.

'Why did you lie?', he asked. 'It's not as if I'd be surprised. Much. I mean, you have ears and all.', he didn't dare laugh, unsure how she would react. Suddenly, the bell rang, marking the end of the lunch break, but he didn't care anymore. His food still laid beside him on the tray, half-forgotten, half-ignored, as he finally answered her question.

'I don't know. Five hundred? Six? Thousand?'

Noted. It's interesting.

She sat, she listened and she watched. Savannah learned a little more of William. Was it ever cool? Maybe the local folks it was, but not all stories of the kitsune were good. Many played out that the kitsune was a trickster, they would tell lies, eat the souls of the man or woman they picked. Somehow she was glad that she didn't hang around in Japan for a long time.

Then William struck a nerve. It was her fault anyway so she couldn't be mad it him, though it did annoy her. She let out a huff, setting aside her plate. The bell rang, but neither of them moved from their spot. Did she have to answer his question? Could they just forget about?

Her thought was interrupted by his guesses of age, each guess opened her eyes a little more with a smile. He wasn't mad, that was good. "Close, I have walked this plane for a thousand and two hundred and seventy three human years thus far." She somewhat proudly told him with a hand on her chest. It's been awhile since she's told anyone her age, mostly because humans would either run or laugh at such a response. Starlight Academy was far from human.

"As to why I lied? It might just be habit, when you've lived among the human populace all your life it's natural to assume anyone that looks human, is human." She answered with a shrug, trying to make a big deal of it. This all brought back a memory, one she was going to share.

While recalling the memory she wiped her tears dry. "One time a young lad who I'd often visit in a village would ask me every year why I didn't age, I told him that I never eat." She said out loud with a gentle sigh at the end.

The roof slowly began to empty of it's occupants. "It appears my appetite has relished from our discussion. What is on your schedule now?" She asked, looking down to William. The bangs of hair at her sides drooped as she looked down at the boy, ears fluttering too.

'I can skip.', was the immediate answer to the question about his schedule. 'It's English, it's not that important.' This, somehow, seemed to be. There was something there, something about her she wouldn't quite share and he couldn't quite guess.

'One thousand, two hundred and seventy three years.', he said, trying to get his head around the number, fast. Somehow, it wasn't that hard. It was just that it was such a large number, no matter how you put it. Heck, it was such a large number that she had probably seen most of the things they used to learn from History. Maybe he could ask her to help him with his History report then. Later, of course. 'One thousand, two hundred and seventy three years.', he said again, this time in awe, continuing his original train of thought. 'That's a lot of years, Svannah.', he looked at her amazed.

'That's ought to earn you some respect here.' He understood why she lied. He understood, but he also saw that there was no need for that. Alongside the unspoken rules of the questions not asked, there was also the one about the answers others didn't want to share, for, honestly, you never knew what the other person simply wanted to forget. So, when somebody asked something you did not want to answer, you simply said so, or, he remembered his first day here, chuckling, 'look awkwardly at that butterfly sitting on the memosa'. True, there were no butterflies or memosas here, but there had to be a way to present the fact that she really needn't hide to Savannah.

'Good thing we are not humans here, then.', he said slowly. 'We are al vampires, and warewolves, and half-a-century-old-yet-still-look-twenty jerks, and, well, look at me. I got a part of my soul walking around on four legs eating anything he can see, and if you were to trust him, I could summon a bit more, maybe even two or three.', he stopped for a moment, deciding it was a good time for a joke. 'Not that I would want to, though. I mean, can you imagine a two or three of Spirit's walking around? The Academy would be out of food in two days max.'

He thought about just leaving it there, however, it just didn't seem enough. 'Come on, eat your food. There's no need to be so uptight here. You'll see. You... You don't lose something coming here.', he returned to her earlier thought, speaking the words he left unspoken then. 'On the contrary, it just might give you something back.'

Skipping a class? Was he truly skipping it because he wanted to or for another reason? Whatever it was Savannah wasn't going to protest in the slightest, it made her happy that she could continue to speak longer.

As William went on to get his head around the years she would snicker each time he mentioned how many years it was. "You make it sound like I'm an old hag." She said with laughter. Her body rocked back and forth lightly, clearly enjoying the moment.

"Respect it does, if I were to meet any of my own kind I would be well received as a kinsman. During my travels away from my homeland I've yet to meet another of my kind." She told him. Not meeting one of her own didn't phase her, Savannah lived how she wanted and that was good enough to settle for.

William listed the many types of beings to be encountered. There were probably enough to fit on many sheets of paper, she got the idea though. That was the thing, everything but humans were here. At least that was what they are led to believe.

Savannah pictured the image of multiple Spirit's, it was amusing.

Then William said something rather, different. Savannah lost her smile, he was being sincere. How adorable. "Perhaps, perhaps." She started, staring off into the sky.

"There are many things I can not do any more, simply because of time and advancement." She shrugged, nothing she could do the change it. "In only a century the humans went from beating each other metal sticks to living together in monstrous towers. Silly humans." She rasped. Savannah retrieved her salad and had a few more bites from it.

"If there's something that I'd want back, it's an adventure. Now, is that something achievable here?" She challenged, pointing her fork at William with a eager smile.

'Never.', was his immediate response to the 'old hag' comment. 'Really. Never. Don't even think about it.' Somehow, he went from feeling old, tired and mature to being a kid amazed by the world, not that there was anyone around who could track the change now the Spirit was asleep, and not that it was really a surprise, for, how can you feel anything else sitting by someone who has lived for a thousand and some more years? He still wanted to help her somehow, feeling that she was sad, however, he could not hide amazement in his eyes and voice.

'And who knows, maybe one day another kitsune will find his way here.', he said softly. 'Until then, you can just sit on your tail and gather your respect among the others of your other kind-strangers to the world. Wellcome to the race.', he smiled, for it was the truth. They used to be human, born and raised, but the minute they discovered their powers, they changed into something else, similar, yet still different. And they should be proud of that. He knew that he was. He knew that he was happy.

'Yes, I can imagine it would seem like that to someone like you.', he looked her into eyes and smiled again. He smiled a lot as of late. He didn't used to do that. 'I'm fairly sure they have classes even for that. And if not, you can always go explore the Forest, or the Sea. The grounds are quite big. You'll find something for you there. If not, you could always try bungee jumping. I heard that was fun.'

Williams words only added to the humour. "Very well, I will pretend to be of age relative to my appearance." She mused. Savannah continued her fit, she hadn't laughed quite like this in a while. It was quite a nice sensation to experience once again.

She stopped all of a sudden at the quiet voice of William. Meet another kitsune? That would be nice, but Savannah caught on the word 'his'. A small click of the tongue came from her in response. Her once happy mood had faded in that instant. That one sentence annoyed her, it wasn't William's fault though.

"You, you are too adorable and sincere for your own good." She begun raising her head. "I'm surprised no woman had leached themselves onto you to feed off that kind heart of yours." Savannah wanted to tell William to not pry into her personal life, but she found him to sweet to swat off. Even she was susceptible to sensitivity.

Her grumpy mood passed, her facial expression relaxed. "As for what you suggested, maybe I'll find myself a spot in the forest and urinate my territory." She joked with a hint a malice. It seemed like such a crude thing to do, but oh the impression it would give to the other animals that walked upon a mark. "I can bare not gazing upon the ocean, the salt water will only dry my skin and ruin my fur." She reasoned with pride.

'Oh, believe me, it is no surprise.', he smirked after hearing her words. 'I haven't always been like this.', he said, well aware of the change within himself, he was not stupid, nor was his spiritual creature, who made his job to track any kind of change in that department, afraid that what one happened could happen again. 'Up to the two months ago, I've been an emotionless block of ice for about two and a half years. No heart to be fed off there, believe me.', he said, looking up to the sky. He could still remember how it felt, being empty of any and all emotion, protecting his soul from all that pressure and loss by pouring it into one part that wasn't his own anymore, that walked and talked on its own and was more than ready to deal with everything he could not. He could still remember, and know that he hoped it was never needed again. Thus, the very idea of trusting his heart to a woman, just like that, was unthinkable.

'Somebody's a narcis.', he scoffed, raising his hand, and, without a second thought, messing up her hair, and petting her ears just like he did with Spirit's. They were much softer though, so he was quite careful not to hurt them by being too rough. He laughed good-heartedly, counting seconds until the very much expected reaction. 'Also, while we wait for my actions to catch up to your brain, for who ever knew that one you just met could be so rude as to mess up your perfect for, you do not want to go messing around the forest. There aredangerous things already living there.'

Hi, I noticed you started bolding your text, but constantly forget to ask, do you wish me to bold mine as well? Is it hard to read like this? Also, I very much like where this is going :D

She tilted her head to the side, was he being modest. Now at times Savannah can handle modesty, it depends what it was about. If William was doing so in this case, it would only give her more of a knack to tease him. She wanted to call him out, tell him he's lying. Instead she didn't say anything and merely listened. It was one thing she was good at, listening. Well, only when something or someone is worth listening to.

"Nar-what?" She began. His choice of word left Savannah unprepared for what was the happen next. She could have swore that his hand hadn't moved, but now it roughed through her hair and brushed her ears. Her body froze at the touch. William spoke again, she merely blinked at him as if she saw a ghost. Now that his hand left her head felt odd, she reached a hand up to rest it upon her head of hair. It then clicked. It felt nice, almost like being petted even if it was messy. She quickly patted and combed her hair with both hands while glaring at William.

"Dangerous?" She repeated and then tutted. "How dangerous hmm?" She challenged.

'Really dangerous.', he said, a solemn look finding its way back on his face right away. 'Dangerous enough for some students to never come back out of it, apparently. Or so I've heard. I haven't gone up there yet.'

He looked at her once more, deciding that his back were starting to hurt and that it was time to get up. He nudged Spirit carefully, just enough to make him rais his head, so he could turn, and sit by her, with a wolf-creature's head sleeping blissfully in his lap.

'I'm sorry about your hair.', he said, sitting once more comfortable beside her. 'I just had to do it. You looked too cute for a narcis.'

((OOC-I wrote cure instead of cute -.-' and posted it like that -.-' that's what happens when you don't chekc what you write))

Her ears perked up more and more at the sound of this forest, could it be really that bad? The fact he hasn't been there yet made her wonder even more. Her eyes trailed off as her mind wandered far. She never noticed William's movement as he came to sit by her. As her head turned round she jerked back a little, surprised.

What was this boy on about now. "Cute? I am a woman am I not? If I were a young maiden I would been swooned by the word 'cute'. That was many years ago."" She protested as she shuffled herself back to William. Pout she was going to do and pout she did. This was another thing she wouldn't admit, she liked the girly words aimed at her but wanted to represent her maturity at any given time.

She leaned into William bringing her face close to his. "I didn't give up my travels to be told by a young lad that a forest holds danger." She nagged. Savannah gazed at William for a moment before turning her head away, returning to her previous posture.

"I could tell you a story of danger, a story of a young woman who became a symbol, a symbol so strong it caused a powerful kingdom to crumble." Her voice had deepened and was shallow. Her grin was mischievous, but Savannah was not talking about herself.
