Are you implying I am a clutz?

'Yes.', he said, his smile showing tips of his teeth, as he grabbed his tray, turning around to face her again. 'And I do believe I have acquired enough evidence in the last hour to completely back that statement. It's undeniable.', he was still smiling, and there was no malice in his tone, so he hoped she wouldn't take him wrong. At that moment, Spirit came between them, carrying his own special tray in his teeth.

As he was not really a wolf or a dog, Spirit didn't eat only meet, and even when he did, he despised it raw. He judged everything by the taste, just like humans did, and thus eat pretty much everything, just in very large amounts.

'Lts g', he tried to say, his mouth full of plastic, his head trying to balance it all out.

'It appears there is no place here anymore.', William said looking around the room. 'Let's go to the roof. There's less people there now when it's colder.'

Her ear twitched at him. "Oh ho?" She expressed. Her brows were brought closed and eyed William briefly. "Careful when treading on ice, you might slip or worse even." She blissfully warned. She didn't mind his nit picking at all, but now it motivated her to prove him wrong. All while having fun.

Savannah glanced down at Spirit, she was amused by his efforts. "The roof? Isn't that a place usually for couples?" She mentioned with a grin while beginning to slide herself towards an exist. There was a look of fire in her eyes as they met William's.

"I suppose I could make this an exception, a will of my gratitude for showing me round thus far." Savannah mused with a snicker. Her tails were swishy quite happily from side to side, a clear sigh she was enjoying herself.

'Tsk, don't even go there.', he said, opening the door to the roof for her. 'The last time I slipped, I was 18 months old, and still learning to walk.', he joked. 'I'll have you know that I trained almost every sport you can think of, and have a too good of a balance for that.' Just out of spite, and to prove her point wrong, he suddenly turned on his feet, barely moving any other part of his body, and that somehow got him in front of her, still holding the door, but now with his back, and from the other side of the door frame. 'You see?', he laughed, tilting his head towards the stairs.
'Come on. I'm hungry, and I want to finish my lunch before the break ends.'

The roof? Isn't that a place usually for couples?

Indeed, once they got there, there were some couples on the roof, snuggling beside each other, hidden in corners and worlds of their own. Nobody paid them much mind as there were also larger groups of friends, all hanging around happily.

'Don't worry.', he reassured her. 'Unless we start kissing like there is no tomorrow, not unlike those two,', he pointed at one of the couples, 'nobody would automatically assume we are together. All kinds of people come here, even the teachers sometimes.'

Being two steps ahead of them, and not really having to bother with conversation, Spirit already went on, and find a place for himself. Starting on his food, he patiently waited for William to come over and sit down, before looking at him. Young man laughed, opening the Cola he bought, pouring it in the bowl-like dent in Spirit's tray. He himself opened a Sprite and looked at her from the ground. 'Come, sit. You don't have any drinks there. Want the third can?'

For a moment she though he was bluffing to merely impress her, but he backed himself up by showing off. She was ahead of him, the next moment he appeared in front of her and held the door open. She wanted to call him out on his confidence but it was appealing in a way, at least he stood for himself which was well.

Savannah followed in behind William up the stairs, the roof was a little more crowded than she thought. Still at least there was plenty of room for group privacy. William had pointed out what passes for couples, eating each others faces. "Quite adventerous." Savannah lightly commented as she looked over at the couple in question.

She shrugged, it didn't bother her too much to see something such as that. Her romantic life was rather uneventful, she had distanced herself from boys especially to keep her true identity a secret. So Savannah has never 'gone out' with a guy.

They had found a spot for themselves, she watched them for a moment before sitting after her invitation. A fizzy beverage will do, thank you." She said. The fox girl made herself comfortable, her tails curled and wrapped themselves round her, sitting in her lap cross legged.

"Do you sometimes bring others here to this nest of a roof?" She hinted eyeing him slightly.

Do you sometimes bring others here to this nest of a roof?

'No way.', he said, laughing as he gave her the last drink, a bright-orange Fanta can, as it was all that was left on his tray. 'I'm too new for that. In all honesty, I found about the roof only a few weeks ago, when some guys invited me to come here with them. It's kinda interesting if you think about it.', he said, taking a sip of his Sprite. 'They showed it to me, so I can show it to you now. I guess that's how experience works, or something.', he took another sip, before opening his sandwich and biting into it. 'Man, I'm feeling old.', he chuckled. 'And I'm only 18.' He took a look at her from the side.

There were some questions here that you just didn't ask. 'What can you do?' was a biggest one of them. Some people don't feel comfortable with their powers, or they simply don't want to talk about them. Thus, you don't ask, not if you won't to avoid being burned to the ground, or, even worse, be asked questions you don't want answered. 'Why are you here?' was also one of the questions you just couldn't ask. 'Where are you from?' was just his personal addition to the list, since those questions usually end with 'And you?' and he really didn't want to think about it, his home, let alone talk about it. The tattoo on his back, a sleeping creature nested between his shoulder blades itched silently, reminding him of the way he said good-bye to his old life.

However, despite all that, there were also questions you could ask, otherwise you would never get to know another student in your life. 'How about you? If I may ask. How old are you?'

She giggled in his response, now she wondered whether he was lying or not. While William spoke she tucked into a few pieces of her salad. She was unaware that William was new to the school as well, but clearly old enough to know his way round. The salad stopped rolling in once he heard of his age, she happily snorted at him. He thought he was old, well he was in for a surprise!

The salad plate was laid to rest on her lap, the Fanta that was given now was held in both her hands. With a slight fiddle she got it open and sipped. And then her dared asked for her age, she narrowed her eyes and grinned.

"They say that a woman never tells their age." She pondered. The Fanta came to her mouth again with another sip. "From when I last remember, I was nineteen years of age. That must make me a frail old grandma." Savannah exclaimed with a burst of laughter. Realising how loud she was she clamped a hand over her mouth, which only added to the intensity of muffled sounds.

After her moment subsided she continued. "I have read that I may live on for several centuries, well at least that's what the mythology says about my, curse." Her eyes rolled, it sounded complete nonsense, it may be complete nonsense.

That must make me a frail old grandma.

'Well, you do have a strange way of speaking. Like you were from the last century.', he chuckled softly, taking a huge bite out of his sandwich. When he wanted to, he could eat just about much as Spirit. 'But, that wasn't what I meant when I said 'old.'', he added, a solemn look on his face now. 'I meant... Inside. Like... I've seen a lot of stuff or something.' He sighed. 'Perhaps a better word would be tired.'

I have read that I may live on for several centuries, well at least that's what the mythology says about my, curse.

'Sounds tough.', he said in a soft voice. 'I don't know much about my power either. For all I know, it might be the same for me.'

Spirit knew that it wasn't like that, being the summoned creature, but he said nothing, letting him comfort the girl, in case she needed some encouraging words.

'I'm sorry about asking.', he added in the end thoughtfully. 'I was just making small talk, but I know there are people who are uncomfortable talking about certan stuff. Hell, I'm one of them.'

Strange? Her? Last Century? Was he trying to wind her with a bombardment of teasing? She did titter along with him. Just before William spoke Savannah sensed the atmosphere and mood change, her usually smile faded away as a result. What did he mean inside? By things you saw? Things you experienced?

The mood continued to feel heavy as William continued. She felt there wasn't too much of a need of an apology, but it didn't hurt to receive it. "It's okay, I guess we all lose a piece of ourselves when we come here?" She figured, not wanting to go into details at this time. Shortly after she put on a smile again. "And I have a feeling you'd get exhausted of my presence if you spent that much time with me." She joked.

Savannah resumed her salad with a smug look.

He sat still for a minute, then bitinto his sandwich again. He didn't smile, but he said in a playful tone: 'I really don't think so. I lived with Spirit for so long, and you are nowhere near his level of anonoying.' The creatures ears twiched, and he raised his head growling. William gave him a chalanging look, and soon of they were, wrestling on the ground, their food all but forgoten. At least they didn't spill it all over the floor-or roof in this case-as they usually do.

As they wresteled playfully, Spirit's attack all teeth and claws, and William's fiests and hard punches (yet, there was still a wound to show on both), the words he left unsaid echoed in William's head.

I lost nothing coming here. If anything, I gained the piece of myself back.

I made a big revamp to my character's history and what not, though she is still the same person William has met.

It was like William answered what she wanted to hear. It said a couple things about him. The bond between Spirit and William was that of inseparable behaviour, that was something Savannah would envy through out all her years now and those to come.

She watched the two rough and tumble, this was nostalgic. It was nice to have a companion with you through all your adventures and troubles. Someone to turn to for comfort and warmth. A small trickle of a tear ran down the side of her cheek, Savannah was blissfully unaware of what her eyes were doing. Her attention was captured by William's and Spirit's actions.

What she wanted to say was, "Do that with me." Of course, that would be selfish of her to ask of such a thing. It was a rule as such she tried to keep in the past, never to interfere with another's relations to the point where they would have to make a choice they did not want to make. There were also simply some people she could not be with, whether it be because of their status, their loyalties and even their faith.

"I must confess, for I have committed a sin before you." She started, with a weak smile and watery eyes. "Well, it's not entirely a lie, it may be true that I appear the human age of nineteen, maybe a year older or younger. Preferably younger." She said laughing at her self. At the end of her fit her nose sniffed and had to catch her breath.

So, she gave William a question. "But, how old would you like to think I am? This power I now call a curse, before it was a pleasure. I am a Kitsune, my origins are of asian culture. My birthplace was in Japan, I have travelled most of the known world by foot, horse, carriage, boat and occasionally the mechanical inventions of the humans that allow them to soar into the sky."

She did this for two reasons, one was to ultimately reveal a little more of herself to William and second, it was for her own amusement to raise her current mood. Selfish? A little. Harmful? Hardly.
