The soft drone of the student body milling around in the lounge did little to disguise the pathetic pick up lines one male was using. And when we say pathetic, we mean PATHETIC! Pick up lines that were so horrific, it really was a wonder that he hadn't been slapped yet.

Mike was the proud owner of these pick up lines, and would use them on any girl who dared walk by, much to the morification of Alana who had joined him on his hunt for a girl. The wheelchair he sat in must have been working it's magic, girls tried not to hurt his feelings when they got a glimpse of it. But today it wasn't working all that well.

"No luck so far." he sighed, leaning back in his chair and running his hands along the wheels. "It seems that I won't be getting a date for this evening. You're a terrible good luck charm." He shot a glance at Alana who glared back at him, angry that she had been dragged into this quest.

"Couldn't you have gotten a boy to come along with you? He'd probably be better suited at this then I am." Alana complained. She loved Mike but he could be annoying at times. She absolutely hated how he dragged her along on these 'girl safaries'. "My friendship towards you can only go so far."

In response Mike waved her complaint away, turning towards another girl who had walked past his wheelchair. Pitching his lines was a favourite activity, and Alana must enjoy being able to spend quality time with a friend as magnifice as himself. At least, that's what Mike thought.

Her lavender hair was down from it's norma french roll, and thus made rather lovely curls around her face. Her customary black and gray pinstripe fedora was pushed forward on her head at an angle, covering one of her violent blue eyes.

Her black, tiny bat wings portruded from her back, through two holes in the back of her brown graphic tee. However, the shirt was a bit baggy, and hid the fact that she had a small .44 tucked in the back of the waistband of her jeans.

Heavily eyelined eyes looked around the room, but she saw nothing particularily interesting, and thus began to wander aimlessly. Her lips move to pucker, and she began to whistle, with a very talented whistle, and raised an eyebrow at any who decided to give her a look. And that raised eyebrow caused them to shrink away.

"Ooh look, here comes another one." The look on Mike's face was usually reserved for some kid at christmas. Except Mike was a million times more perverted then any kid at Christmas.

"Uh oh, dead girl walking." Alana his her face in her hands, unable to watch the torture that was her friend being turned down, again.

It hadn't dawned on Mike how scary this new girl looked, or how oddly familiar either. But how was he supposed to know the history that followed her. "Hey Angel, did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?" He asked, eyebrow raised suggestively and a cute grin was smeared on his face.

Hey Angel, did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?

She froze mid step, and placed her foot down, turning to face whoever had just spoken. Her fedora hid one eye from view, but both drifted over him slowly, sizing him up. Then she smiled. But it was almost a chilly smile. And had her past completely followed her here, people would have ran. But it didn't.

She cocked her head to the side, lavender waves following gravity, and said with a strange smile, "Awe, thanks for the compliment babe," in her clear, heavy Brooklyn accent, "But you're a little too short for me." Then there was a click, and in the blink of an eye, Frankie's .44 was in her hand, trained on Mike. She used her free hand to tilt her fedora back to reveal her signature eyes. She made sharp eye contact with him and then recognition flitted in her eyes. And she burst out laughing. She uncocked the gun and in one smoothe movement, had it back where it was supposed to be.

"Mikey Nedd! How ya been?" she asked, still laughing. She hooted a few times, then got herself under control, shoulders still shaking.

"I could ask you the same thing!" Mike turned a confused look at his old friend at the same moment that Alana uncovered her eyes. The poor little nymph didn't like weapons. He eyed the weapon, knowing she wouldn't use it on him here. Thankfully.

"To bad, I just wasted a perfectly good pick-up line on you." He openly pouted, throwing his boyish good looks into the light. "What's a guy to do?" Aimlessly running his hands along his wheels he couldn't help but let his eyes wander as a shapely blonde walked by. "Daddy let his little princess come to the big scary school all by her lonesome?" Looking back at his friends he shrugged. This was weird. After several years of living out of Brooklyn he had lost his accent, and Frankie had known him long before the chair. It was surprising that she could even recognize him.

"But seriously, what brings you down here? And why are you wandering aimlessly around the lounge?"

Alana sat quiet through the exchange, knowing the friends would probably have a lot to catch up on.

Frankie laughed again, and struck a pose. "What can I say? I'm just that good looking." she was half joking, but she knew that she was a good looking girl. She chose to ignore the wasted, especially since she'd just pulled a gun on her old friend.

She shrugged. "Meh. I convinced him that it'd be better for business if I were gone." she raised an amused eyebrow as he eyed the shapely blonde. She tried very hard not to laugh, and managed succeed, barely.

Frankie grinned at his question, and spread her little wings, fluttering them a bit. And then she disapeared. And reappeared. "I prefer to show, rather than talk." she stated easily, and cocked her head again, adjusting her fedora, "What about you?"

"A lot prettier then that little scrap I used to play with back in the Bad Old City." He narrowed his eyes playfully, teasing her had always been fun.

"How'd you manage that? He was absolutely devoted to you. I've never met a girl so spoiled." Mike grinned sheepishly, noticing that she had caught his wandering eyes. "Leave me alone, I'm still dateless for tonight. Unless of course, you'd like to fill that position?" He raised his eyebrows and waggled them suggestively.

"Hmm, so that's why I could never find you during hide and seek. Cheater." He replied with a smirk, twisting his hands. "Let's see, I got a little bored in the hospital after the accident." A ball of light formed in his hands and shimmered as the young man twisted it into the shape of a rose.

"Ta-daaaa. Seems life is destined to make a ladies man out of me."

Frankie grinned, reaching out and ruffling his hair. "Yeah, well, the scrawny little squirt I played with wasn't much better." she retorted, and then laughed when she remembered what her dad had said once. "He said the only reason he let me play with you was because I'd cry if he didn't let me."

She shifted her position, moving so that she wasn't blocking his view of all the girls in the room. "Never underestimate the power of a spoiled daughter." she added simply, to his comment of her being spoiled.

And then she ruffled his hair again, "And hun, as sweet as you are, I think I'd rather get shot than go out with you." she said it gently, in a teasing way, but she was serious. She didn't want to go on a date with him. She avoided the comment of her cheating in hide and seek.

"Well, if that's all you can make, then I'll say yeah, that's probably all you're destined to be." This she also said in a slightly teasing tone, since she didn't mind taking him down a knotch or two.

Then she shifted her glance to Alana, and raised a hand in greeting. "Hi there. I'm Frankie."

Mike pretended o brood over the rejection but once again the boyish smile caressed his face. "No matter, I can see I'm way out of your league anyway." He retorted, a teasing glint in his eyes.

"Oh believe you me, I can do a lot more then that-" Mike protested but was cutt off by Alana.

"Alana." She replied, taking the offered hand and shaking it. "Question, was he always so arrogant?" She couldn't help but smile at Mike's protests.

"I wish you woul stop calliong me Mikey, it's simply not the name of someone as macho and good-looking as I." He puffed his chest out just as a red-head walked by. He pitched a line at her but she only smiled that pity smile he was so used to.

"Well, if you ever need a seat!" He called after her, much to the enjoyment of Alana. She loved watching him get shot down, as if it might stop him from being such a womanizer.

Frankie nodded and laughed. "Always. Mind you, it was easier to take him down when he was a scrawny little shrimp." she frowned, for a moment, a cheerful frown, but a frown, all the same, before smiling again, "That, and he wasn't so girl oriented back then. Just full of sh.." she coughed, "himself."

"I wish you woul stop calliong me Mikey, it's simply not the name of someone as macho and good-looking as I."

She snorted. "Aww, poor wittle Mikey." she reached out and ruffled his hair, giving a nod to the redhead. "See, prove it to me, and I might think it over, Muffin."
