The sea. Lyssa had always loved the sea. She'd decided to come to the rocky shores of Manta Carlos this afternoon to soak up some sun and spend some time alone. She wasn't here to think; quite the opposite, she was here to clear her mind. Everything was always so clouded lately because of her depression, it was a cycle that was hard to break.

Lyssa sat on the sand and stared out at the rolling waves and sparkling ocean. She watched kids run around in the shallows, lovers strolling hand-in-hand, people just generally enjoying the day...and just let her thoughts dissipate into nothingness.

Finally. Her head was quiet.

"No no no no, HELP! HELP!" shouted jophiel desperately swinging his arms at the sides of his miniture wood plank that he was using to float on the water, but the tides of the ocean kept pulling him back. Oh how he dreaded the idea of being pulled into the ocean with nothing but the dark waters surrounding him for miles, stranded....but in reality he was close-ish to the shoreline, certainly unknown to him that he was in no real danger.

How'd he get himself in this situation? Simply he was trying to help a turtle that had wandered far off the beach into the edge of the woods that he roamed around in a lot. He was naturally an animal lover so he felt that he had to help the turtle back into the ocean. Unfortunately the turtle was a little injured and couldn't crawl back on its own, so jophiel made a makeshift raft with a rope and nail in the sand.

Of course since sand isnt stable, jophiel miscalculated the fact that the nail would simply lop over and leave him in the water after the turtle would swim away.

HELP! HELP!

Lyssa shook herself from her thoughts - or rather, lack of thoughts - as she heard someone crying out and looked towards the source, out in the water. She got to her feet and ran instinctively towards the waves.

Now, typically, Lyssa was one to enjoy seeing trouble happen. But when someone's life was on the line...that was a different story. She wasn't about to let someone drown when she could easily do something about it.

Once she hit the water, Lyssa saw the boy and waded towards him. Her feet were still touching sand by the time she reached him, and she was only about chest-deep in the water. Oh. He was just...short.

"Relax," she said as she reached out and grabbed the boy to keep him afloat. "Flailing around like that won't help. C'mon." She started pulling him back to shore.

Jophiel saw the girl that came to him, she was very pretty and actually came to help him out of the ocean!

Once on land jophiel came up and hugged her "Thank You Oh My Lord I Thought I Was Gonna Be Eaten!" he said to her and then sank to the floor in defeat, he hated his fear of the ocean and wish he was a bit braver about it but he could help think of the fact that there was no air to breathe, it was deep and dark, and no one No One would find his body down there.

Lyssa stiffened a little and raised an eyebrow as she was hugged, watching him sink pathetically into the sand beneath them. Now she was soaked for no reason, her jean shorts were plastered uncomfortably to her legs and her t-shirt was dripping and clung to her feminine figure.

She sighed and pushed her fingers through her blue and purple hair, the ends of which were wet with sea water. "Eaten? Please. You're not appetizing enough to be eaten," she huffed.

"I hope not in the case of the ocean." jophiel said a little morbidly before getting up and dusting some sand off of himself, he looked at lyssa noticing she was all wet and such.

"Oh my apologies...um...I could assist you drying up a bit, here lemme just." jophiel took off his cloak that he had on and fanned it a bit before wrapping it on lyssa's body, "Um...sorry for you getting all wet to save me um...how could I repay you? My name is jophiel by the way." he stated with a little nervous tone trying to think of a way to help lyssa back.

Lyssa shuddered lightly; it was still winter, and despite the sun, the water had been cold and the air made her feel even colder. She sneezed once as he put his cloak around her and pulled the fabric over her shoulders. He would be the first one to blame if she got sick.

She gave him an annoyed look as he introduced himself. "Lyssa," she replied, reaching up and wringing the water from the ends of her hair before shaking it out. "Lunch," she said after a moment, realizing it was that time of the day and she was starting to get hungry. "You can buy me lunch. That would be sufficient repayment."

Jophiel smiled and nodded "Right, I can make a good pie in the school's kitchen area. Everyone loves my pie~" jophiel said with confidence, remembering the past where in his enchanted woods he'd make such pies for anyone that got stuck in his woods, however using the school's equipment and such was a little strange but he manages.

"Is there maybe a particular pie I can make you?" he asked

Lyssa made a face. Pie. "I'm...not really a fan of sweets," she replied, glancing away from him as a child shrieked in the distance. She was still on alert. It was just a kid screaming because another kid was chasing them around on the shoreline.

"There're plenty of cafes around here," she pointed out, putting a hand on her hip. She did specifically say buy her lunch, not make her lunch. He was going to have to put up some cash in exchange for her saving his life.

"oh....umm..." jophiel on the inside was a little panicked, he had no money, for petes sake he was born and raised in the woods. But he couldn't bear to not repay the girl somehow, dishonesty wasnt an attribute with him either so he decided to come clean and maybe work something out.
"I uh don't have any money ha ha." he smiled nervously shrugging his shoulders up and blushing a bit
