Dreaming...

Raye entered the ballroom through the entrance on the second floor. She looked at the windows that led to balconies, the staircase, the paintings on the walls... this room was just so beautiful!

She sighed, looking around the empty room. She began to walk down the staircase. Once at the bottom, she sat on the bottom step. I wonder if I'll ever meet the right guy... she thought to herself, leaning her chin on her hand. She sighed once again, and stood up.

Raye was about to start dancing, but heard one of the doors open. There was no way she would dance if someone else was in the room, no way no how.

"H-hello?" she said nervously, playing her fingers, looking around. "Is anyone there?"

"No way," Raye mumbled to herself, but unfortunately, it echoed through the whole room. Her cheeks became pink.

"They need to fix that echoing..." She was completely unsure of what to say, and was sure she was only embarrassing herself. She decided to walk over to where the boy was sitting.

"Hi... I'm Raye. What are you reading?"

So he liked to fight? And he practiced on other students? Raye felt a little nervous now, but didn't let it show. She didn't want to seem like a wimp or anything. She turned her gaze to the ground. "My power is water... some ice... not the greatest thing in the world. It's actually kind of dumb... but it comes in handy sometimes." Raye smiled slightly. "What about you?"

Raye took some comfort in his statement, but not much. She wondered why is was there if he didn't have powers, but kept quiet, thinking her question might come off as rude.

She looked around the room as well. "Yeah... it's huge. But I guess with so many students this school has to have to have a place this big when there are dances or parties or whatever, right?"

Raye smiled slightly. "I thought it would be a great place to get away too... I think everyone probably thinks that, though, because no one is usually in here... at least, the times I've been here." She looked at the ground once again, unsure of what else to say.
