Lucan Abernathy

They'd appear from a flash of blue and smoke, the smoke quickly vanishing, teleporting the other side of the house has been the best option, away from the main entrance. Grinning at her, he'd quickly open a window, through which he'd slip through and then help her through if she needed it. "Thanks for coming, I've been itching for a party, bloody hell summer break is to short, gotta enjoy it."

Lucan could already hear the sounds of the party, he'd been careful when tracking one down, making sure it didn't have any big sound systems, nothing with big electronic systems that could bother her. He'd straighten out his close and slide to her, gently bumping her with his hip, "shall we go see if we can get into so trouble?" he'd ask with a fanged mischievous smile, not even intending for the fangs to show.

He'd lead her from the back room into the party itself, the college students not even noticing the newcomers, they were busy with booze and each other. "So, think you can keep up with me hun?" he'd ask teasingly, "I can be quite the dancer when I want to be," and he also had a good tolerance for alcohol.

Xarrah was really excited to be going to a party. Her friend Lucan had invited her to crash a college party and she couldn’t pass it up. School was starting soon and summer hadn’t last anywhere bear long enough. She slipped through the window, taking Lucan’s offered help. “It’s gonna suck when school starts.”

Xarrah laughed excitedly “Oh we’re gonna get in so much trouble.” She eagerly followed him to the dance floor, being extra careful not to bump into the tightly packed college students.

“Pfft, I’m professionally trained and deadly dragon it’ll definitely be you trying keep up” She said smirking trying to scoot him towards the makeshift dance floor.

He'd chuckle as he was scooted toward the dance flood. "I've been sneaking into these kind of parties since I was fourteen," he'd grin as they reached the dance floor, "try to keep up," he'd say challengingly.

Agile and flexible, his body would move to the music as they started, the other party-goers having mostly partnered up. "Seems you're doing pretty well Xarrah," he'd say, flashing a playful smile, "we'll need to come to these more often, even when school starts."

A college student would walk past them, a tray of drinks in his arms, stopping briefly to talk to someone. In a flash Lucan had grabbed one of them, the tray's owner to busy flirting to notice. "You want some?" he'd ask his friend, it was just a wine cooler, nothing strong.

Xarrah snorted and started to dance with Lucan “That doesn’t count you could’ve learned to dance bad” She was very competitive and would not allow him to out stage her.

“Pfft, i should be say that you” She moved a bit closer as the party started to get more crowded. She had snuck into the party but she didn’t know anyone there. Being a senior, she didn’t recognize anyone who maybe graduated the year before. “Most definitely, give it another year and you wont have to sneak, you’ll have your own free pass”

Xarrah stopped dancing and looked from the drink to Lucan weighing her options. She shrugged her shoulders and held out her hand. One drink wouldn’t hurt right?

Grinning he'd step close as well, people around them moving in, "things are picking up, don't wander off Xarrah," he'd chuckle, "hate to lose my favorite dance partner." She was his only dance partner, one of his few friends, and she likely knew that.

Taking of the lid, he'd offer her the fruit flavored drink, "take it slow, to much and you'll get sick right away." He'd step to the side, gently pulling her with him as a very drunk couple stumbled through the dance floor to get the other side of the room.

"Welp, there they go," he'd say as the couple stumble off into a room, he felt something gently tapping his leg, glancing down he saw his tail had appeared, focusing he made it vanish. Clearing his throat he'd turn back to her, "whatcha think so far?" he'd ask, referring to both the drink and the party.

Okay so Xarrah had a problem with staying in one place for too long. That didn’t mean she got lost... actually she did tend to stray away from the group but still. ”Okay, I got lost that one time, okay one time, and in my defense I’m short and it was crowded.” She didn’t mention the fact she had a terrible sense of direction and she was to busy trying to follow the stream.

It’s not like she hadn’t seen a wine cooler before, she knew it wasn’t heavy alcohol. With the way her metabolism worked she doubted it would stick much but just incase she took his advice. She drank a few sips and scrunched up her nose. It definitely didn’t taste like the flavor on the bottle. ”That doesn’t taste anything like the flavor label...that’s a rip off, make sure you get your money back Lucan.”

She watched the drunken college students scurry off to a room. She was not incredibly surprised out the outcome of the party. Even high-school parties got like this sometimes. Although the parties her family had normally had some kind of ulterior motive if it was more than just family and friends. ”It’s not that bad honestly, the musics a but loud but thats to be expected. What about you? How does this scale to your other parties. Probably better since I’m here, because i’m awesome”

Lucan would chuckle just a little at her reaction to the drink, he didn't drink often, but once in a while he'd have one at a party. "It's flavor sorta comes out as you get used to it," he'd take a drink of it, it certainly wasn't the best thing in the world, definitely better than beer.

The half demon would grin, "smaller than some of the ones I'd sneak into back into London," he'd chuckle, "but yes, having a friend definitely makes this one better." He'd take another sip of his drink, "and you're funner to dance with."

The party and the dancing would continue around them, drinks going around, "the magic stuff is definitely different," he'd say, glancing at a tray of drinks that changed every few minutes. A drunken college girl appeared from the cround, leaning against Lucan and whispering something to him, Lucan would actually blush just a bit and give an embarrassed smile, the girl quickly moved on though spotted a friend of hers in the crowd. "Anyways...yeah...interesting party," he'd say, returning to his friend, having escaped a drunken seduction attempt.

Xarrah was pretty sure that he was wrong. There was no way that the liquid would ever taste like any kind of fruit. Fruits were supposed to be sugary sweet or sugary bitter but delicious morsels of food. "I guess I'll just have to take your word for it" She said looking around at the other party goers. Next year she'd be in college, technically an adult by normal people's standards but still a kid by dragon standards. It didn't help that she was a small dragon at that, at least compared to some of her older siblings. Still she couldn't help but be excited for what college and adult life would entail.

She flipped her hair back over her shoulders pompously "Yeah, im pretty sure it's just me though you don't have to lie to make your other friends feel better" she was of course joking. Even though she had been on the island for a year she didn't have many friends. The island itself took some getting used to and it didn't help that her powers sometimes distracted her or fried other people's devices. "Eh, you get used to it after a while, honestly I kind find it amazing when i meet a normal being, like someone without any powers or abilities. It's like...how?"

Xarrah definitely heard what the girl whispered in Lucan's hear and howled with laughter. She just couldn't imagine Lucan doing anything of the sort, but still....she that wouldn't stop her from teasing him. "You seem very popular...and i'm a big scary dragon I wouldn't mind if you left me to ....go entertain one of your suitors.....i'll be fine" she managed to get out between all her laughter.

He'd chuckle, "I grew up around people without powers....thought I was one for a while," until he sprouted a tail an a priest tried to kill him, but that wasn't a story one would tell at a party.

Lucan would actually blush a bit at his friends laughter and comments, in truth it was a little tempting to go with the older girl, but he'd stick with his friend for now. "Yes...well...," he'd clear his throat and stick his tongue out at her, "that'd be rude of me, running off when I asked you to come."

The half demon would take another sip of the wine cooler, his face still a bit flushed from the encounter. "Besides....looks like she's already found someone else," he'd say with a shrug, and went ahead and finished his drink. "And I'm here to dance and have with you before school starts back up."

Xarrah was very shocked to hear that, while she knew that it was common for people to come to the island from places lacking powered people, it was still hard for her to imagine. She smirked at his blush, she didn't know why her friend was so shy. In fact, sneaking into the college party should have made him the exact opposite. He had to have talked to someone to know that it was going on.

"Eh if you want i can go play wing man, i'm sure there are a few girls who don't mind your face" She finished the sentence with barely contained laughter leaning on the closest person as she struggled to breathe. This person happened to be Lucan, and she thought nothing of it as she started to catch her breath.

"Pfft, we can dance after school starts up, senior year isn't going to be that tough, besides i have to work on my music career. I refuse to get a manual labor job to support myself."
