Eein Dresden

His hand knocked on the door, he'd come for the sparring match, it was something he'd been looking forward to. As a dragon he was naturally a bit fighty, it was just a part of him, so he'd gone ahead and challenged the leader of the community to one.

The young dragon leaned back on his heals as he waited, the corner of his mouth letting out a bit of misty cold breath. He was ready to test his strength, his parents were gone so he felt that he needed to stay strong for his new guardian, for all of them.

Fweiu opened the door and grinned, towering over Eein. The fact that he wanted to spar with her was adorable. Admirable, too.

"Eein!" She said, almost shouting with delight. "You're really going through with this! C'mere~" She would pull an arm around his shoulder and drag him through the house towards the backyard, her excitement getting the better of her. "We have a great spot in the backyard. Plenty of space if I don't go all the way into my true form."

Not many young people in her clan were brave enough to seek out the chief for such a thing. No - more often than not, she sought them out, wandering by where they fought, giving them tips and instruction if she liked them. These days, she rarely had time for even that.

She had been looking forward to this ever since Eein challenged her.

He'd flash his usual small cocky smirkish smile as he was dragged through the house and to the backyard. "Right," his dragon form was small for the community, but he'd still fight, plus he had a few tricks up his sleeve, "it's been too long since I've sparred with anyone." He'd sparred with his parents of course, with them gone he had to turn to the other dragons.

Pulling his coat off he'd toss it to the side and out of the way, stretching a bit and looking her up and down. "Sure you can keep up with someone young?" he'd tease, flashing a grin, a bit of cold air coming from his mouth. He'd been looking forward to this.

"Element abilities or just normal sparring," he had his freezing fire, but he'd also been developing his weather manipulation and electricity abilities.

This boy was trash talking his chief. Incredible! Either he genuinely didn't know, or... what was the English saying again? Something about massive balls? She needed to brush up on her idioms.

"Big talk for such a little boy." She messed with his hair, almost affectionately, before letting him go. Then she led him into the backyard.

Eein had a good question. "Let's start without the magic gimmicks. I'd like to see what your fundamentals are like." They may have had different magics, but they had basically the same kinds of bodies. So she could teach him better this way.

Eein Dresden

A more experienced opponent, he didn't know how old she was but she was likely old, seen many fights. In truth he didn't expect to win, but he'd enjoy it none the less.

Nodding he'd stretch a bit more, filled with excited energy that he was eager to release. Breathing out he'd let out a tiny bit of blue flame, he liked using his elemental abilities but they'd perhaps switch to using them later.

He'd take a simple stance, not unlike that of a boxer, good for defense but also for attack. The young dragon would start to move slowly, approaching his opponent, trying to read her, this was going to be fun.

So he was attacking in this form, first. Fweiu held out her hands, in a gesture that seemed to say 'come on, hit me already.' And she seemed amused. To a casual viewer, she might have seemed relaxed, or even like she hadn't put her guard up.

But she was ready. If Eein did not let himself get distracted, if he knew better, he might notice that she was in a fighter's stance. Light on her feet, hands ready to deflect and counter, legs bent shoulder-width apart. Her body was like a coiled spring. She was ready to exploit any opening in his defense, planning to grapple and pin rather than strike.

If she really injured him she'd need to pay for the healer, after all.

Eein Dresden

Eein was young, strong and a bit cocky, this could bee seen in how he went on the offensive against her. If this was a real fight he'd perhaps be a bit more cautious, but he was excited to get started, test himself against her.

His footing was good and strong, to keep himself balanced, overall he had a good stance. Once in range he'd go in for a strike, a simple punch nothing fancy, his body leaning into it, but his body remaining ready to defend if needed.

Fweiu didn't know whether to be pleased or disappointed. Pleased, by his apparent knowledge of these things despite his upbringing, or disappointed, because she wouldn't get the chance to teach him humility so quickly. She parried the blow comfortably enough, before falling into a more traditional stance. She was light on her feet, and though she was still in human form her hands evoked the image of claws, ready to grasp or tear or strike.

Before he had time to process this she would make her move, leading with a low kick (or a stomp onto his front foot). If he tried to push her away or hit her, she would grab him - and if he tried to back away, she would give him a bruise for his trouble.

Eein had missed this, the thrill of sparring of fighting, especially against a stronger opponent. He was young, strong and full of confidence, he'd been looking forward to this.

His opponent parried as expected, she went to stomp on his foot. The young dragon stayed calm, his hands shifting to claws, they'd lash out to grab at her leg. If he managed to grab on he'd let himself fall to the side, one of his legs sweeping at his opponent's free leg. He intended to pull her down, where he could get on top and pin her, or let his claws do their work.

It didn't quite work out that way.

When Fweiu felt the claws dig into her leg, Eein would notice that her skin was becoming a lot... less skin-like. Scaly, even. She wouldn't budge when he tried to sweep her feet. When he looked up, he would notice that Fweiu was bigger, about nine feet tall and covered in scales in a hybrid form. She wasn't going to do this yet, but if he was going to partial shift...

It wasn't smart for Eein to go low like that, because now Fweiu could just get on top of him. Now, she would have the advantage, with more weight, more strength, and many more decades of experience. She was going to put him in a submission hold and tell him to yield; it would hurt until he did.
