His plan didn't work, he'd gotten to ambitious right away, and soon he was pinned and in a submission hold. He'd grunt and let out a frustrated growl, she had him, but he wasn't going to give in, he didn't do that.

He'd struggle against the strength of the elder dragon, he was stubborn and prideful and had made a promise to never back down. "Dammit," he'd curse quietly as he struggled try to get out of the hold, things hadn't gone as planned.

Fweiu had him pinned under her now-considerable weight. The way she was twisting his leg would definitely hurt. It wouldn't be enough to break anything, but all she had to do was apply a bit more pressure at the right angle.

She told Eein to yield, and he hadn't. So she wouldn't stop. "I'm not letting go until you say you give up," she said, amused. from where his head was pushed against the ground, he wouldn't be able to see her grinning. She remembered being like him.

"And I'm not just doing this to be mean. There's an important lesson here."

The young dragon would grunt and growl in frustration, he was angry at himself for being taken down so easily. "I don't give up," he'd again growl, this time from pain as he struggled to escape her hold, it was futile but he'd keep trying.

"I don't run," he'd press down, trying to lift her, he could lift a ton while in human form, though he wasn't sure how much she currently weighed, "and I don't give up." He expected more out of himself, demanded more out of himself, he needed to be stronger and smarter than this in a fight.

Fweiu let him struggle. He was about to lift her, but it didn't matter; she just needed to change her grip and her position a little, and he was helpless again. She could still break his leg at any time. And now, with the way she was holding it, it would hurt in new ways and different places.

"That is exactly the problem." Her tail would give him a thwack on the back of the head; not hard enough to hurt him too much, but hard enough to get her point across. "It's admirable to be able to continue where others would give up. To keep searching for victory where all around you there is despair. But there will be times in your life when running away or surrendering is the best thing you can do. Sometimes, your determination may earn you nothing but broken bones, or your death, or the deaths of people you swore to protect."

Eein would hear something different in Fweiu's voice, near the end. She wasn't smiling anymore. It was very important to her that Eein learn this lesson. Her grip on his leg would tighten, her claw-tipped fingers about to break his skin and draw blood. Firmly, she would tell him. "There is wisdom in knowing when to surrender. Wise up. Yield."

Dragons were prideful creatures and Eein was no exception, whatever he did he demanded the best out of himself. He'd quickly fallen in this sparring match and was now being forced to either give in or face consequences.

So the young dragon didn't want to give in, he wanted to keep fighting, but that wasn't a viable option. He'd growl in frustration, his teeth shifting into dragon fangs as he tried to think of a way out, he found none.

"Fuck....fine....I give....," a promise broken, though no life was in danger in this situation. His pride would definitely take a hit though.

Fweiu released him and rolled off of him into a cross-legged sitting position.

"I know that it hurts to do that," she said with a solemn tone. "But there are many things more valuable than your pride. And if the time comes that you need to choose between your pride and the things you truly hold dear, I want you to be prepared to make the right choice."

And not to make the kinds of mistakes that she did.

"But enough of that. Get up, let me show you a few things you can try next time around." Her tail would slap at the ground, pushing her up to her feet like a spring. She was ready for this to be fun again. "You had the right idea to go for my legs, but the way you did it could use some work."

Fweiu would start trying to teach him how to trip someone taller than him, and a few tips for how to fight someone taller or stronger in general.

He'd sit up with a frustrated growl, turning to look at her as she explained the lesson. It made sense he supposed, he didn't like the idea of giving up or running though. His parents had him run, they'd died and he blamed himself for it.

"Yeah....yeah that makes sense," he'd finall admit, like any dragon be was prideful, learning to put pride aside was a lesson he needed to learn.

Standing he'd look at her tail, "you're going to have to teach me how to do more partial shifting. Right now I can just do claws and fangs."

He'd ready himself again, actually liking the idea of her teaching him a few things, some improvements. "I knew I needed to use you're weight against you," he'd say with a nod, "trip and make you fall."

Fweiu grinned, a big and sharp and dangerous grin, when Eein mentioned he wanted to learn better partial shifting. Roldan had taught her an excellent few drills, and she was looking forward to sharing them.

But first, this fighting move.

"Again, you were right to go for my legs. But let me teach you a better way." She would return to her human form so they were closer in size to each other.

"Since I'm bigger than you, and I have longer arms and legs, I'm happy to just use that and keep you away." She demonstrated this, getting in just close enough to reach him and holding her arm out. It was much longer than he could reach. "So what you want to do is get in closer, anyway. That way, it's more awkward for me to hit you than it is for you to hit me." She got in closer, and pantomimed throwing an unthreateningly slow punch at him.

"And since you already want to be this close, you're just close enough to try something like this. Or like this." She used with the start of a few different takedowns on him, just enough to give him the basic idea, and put him off balance, but not enough to knock him over again.

"You want to try that on me?" She would let him do one of those once, at least, just to help him learn.

Eein saw that sharp smile, which he took as confirmation that she'd be willing to teach him. But he'd focus on the current lesson for now, partial shifting could be a later lesson, now he'd let her teach him better takedown techniques.

So he'd watch as she demonstrated them, listening as she explained them. They seemed simple enough, and would be very useful if he ever had to fight someone larger than him.

Then she offered to let him try it on her, he'd smirk a bit. "Oh definitely," he'd move in as she'd instructed, going through the takedown as she'd taught. The technique worked well, getting past her superior size to allow him to pin her.

"Yes....that's works," he'd say with a satisfied chuckle as he released her, he knew she was much stronger than him and could have probably broken out of the hold easily. "They seem easy enough," he'd say, thinking he should have known how to use them, a bit angry with himself for not knowing.
