This was nice. Not enough did Henghai get to go out with a co-worker for a relaxed conversation. This was just what he needed for how stressful his job could get sometimes. Despite the continuously calm and cheerful expression he always put on and the relaxed persona he played, being a teacher was still hard work. The school gave him so much responsibilities to keep up with, and with him also having a husband and child to take care of, sometimes it felt like he was spread too thin. He needed more time to spend with people outside of school and his family.

That was why he appreciated being able to spend this day with Kasa, a history teacher from Starlight he got along with. She was easy to speak to, but also demonstrated a sense of humor Henghai could appreciate. That was why he invited her out to a café out in the city. Somewhere relaxing where they could sit and talk about something that came to mind.

Henghai was enough of a regular at the café to know when it quieted down. Upon entrance, he could see it was downtime. Not many people were inside, and staff looked somewhat bored at the lack of work to do. Relaxing classical music radiated throughout the café at just the right volume that Henghai would have no trouble with his hearing. Since he came early, he ordered himself some cookies and tea, then chose a seat near a widow so Kasa could see him almost instantly before coming inside. To make things easier, he took his two-legged humanoid form so he could comfortably fit in his chair. Now, all that was left was waiting, but passing time was easy when he had phone games to distract himself with.

This was nice.

Kasa felt she was adjusting to this new place nicely. School work could get busy and overwhelming but she's made some decent friends and acquaintances since her arrival; like Irso and Titus. Now she was off to meet with another, Henghai. She didn't know too much about Henghai. He seemed like a very cool and collected individual. She learned that he has medical experience and that he has a family; he seemed sweet.

Kasa looked at her phone as she walked to the cafe that he recommended. She had never been there before and needed to rely a bit on a GPS to find her way around. "Turn left at the upcoming street." rang the robotic voice through the phone's small speakers. She followed the directions and got the next set, telling her that her destination was going to be on the left. Kasa closed out the phone and paid attention to the storefronts until she reached a quaint cafe and almost immediately spotted the elemental. She smiled warmly and waved to them through the window as she walked inside. "Hello, Henghai. So good to see you again." She hung her purse on the back of the chair as she pulled it out, "This is a nice place you've chosen." She'd compliment, lips tugged into her usual, go-lucky smile.

Henghai did not need to wait long, it seemed. Outside of the window, he could see a waving Kasa. A surge of excitement traveled through Henghai, like a child giddy to meet up with a friend. He managed to keep that hidden under his calm demeanor, but the quickness at which he put his phone away and waved back showed hints of his actual feelings. Nevertheless, he was happy to know she found her way to the café with what looked to be no trouble at all.

Once she was inside and seated, Henghai returned to normal, ready to have a nice day out. "It's nice to see you as well, Kasa, and I appreciate it. I go here a lot around this time when I need a soothing place to grade papers or just think. Here or the park. Depends on my mood." He gave a light laugh before continuing. "So how're you? You didn't have any trouble getting here, did you?"

She listened to Henghai as he described why he liked this space, and she could not help but agree. The large window lets in plenty of natural light and the subtle smell of coffees, teas, and treats were welcoming to the senses. Kasa hung her purse on the back of her chair and made herself comfortable in the chair. "I am good, and it was nice and easy to get here. I didn't realize it was so close." She would admit with a chuckle. "I might need to stop by here on grading days." She would say as she examined the little cafe. "So how has your day been treating you so far? Well, I hope." She would rest her folded arms on the table casually, an air of calm and a content expression.

Henghai had to admit, the sunlight was a bit of an issue for him. He had on contacts to help him adjust to the setting of diurnals, but it was still unpleasant for him to deal with. Glasses would have been more comfortable for the occasion if he was not so concerned with keeping his usual appearance up.

"If you ever decide to do that, I'm sure we'll encounter each other some more." He gave a small laugh.

"Other than being nocturnal, my day's been nice. Everything's been nice, actually. I've been preparing some stuff for my son. His birthday is approaching and I want to be as prepared as possible." His smile widened at the mention of his son. He did not want to be the dad who would never shut up about his kids, but with such a special day arriving soon, it was hard to hide his excitement.
