Appearance Description:
Olive skin, brown eyes and black hair that's wavy (She straightens it usually). She stands a short 5'2" and weighs around 200lbs. She often dresses professionally, wearing skirts and blouses or dresses; paired with turquoise jewelry. The only indication that she is not human is that she has somewhat pointed ears.
Personality Description:
Kasa is a patient and strong-willed to the point of being stubborn; she is outgoing and passionate about what she teaches, always willing to put time aside for her students. Despite being an academic, in her personal life, she is superstitious. For example, she won't point with her fingers, she'll point with her lips towards something because if you point at something in nature according to traditional legends, it will lash back out at you for disrespect. This can make her appear a bit quirky in how she acts. She can get mildly bitter about indigenous people treatments but she tries to not let that cloud her judgment and tries to be good-natured and approach life with zeal.
Species Abilities:
Skinwalkers are able to shift into any mundane animal, they are extraordinarily fast and dexterous and able to mimic the sound of any human voice or animal if they've heard it before. However, a Skinwalker cannot shift without a full pelt or skin of the animal they wish to transform into, they are not physically strong and their bones are a bit weaker than the average person. They can be discovered by their eyes since they reflect similarly to an animal's in the light since they have better night-vision. They also cannot share their true names or else they will fall under the control of the one who learns it if they speak it within earshot. If a Skinwalker attempts to use the skin of a sentient being it is considered cannibalism and the Skinwalker will turn into a Wendigo.

- Tense relations with Spanish colonists leads to her husband dead, escapes with her elderly mother and young son to the Hopi tribe.
- Makes deal with Ma'ii / Coyote that leads to her getting longer life.
- A loooooong history of playing tricks on the Spanish and Americans.
- Watches over her family until around 1790 when separated during Hopi Mission relocations.
- Readjustment period for the next two centuries, adjusting to an average American life.
- Ends up on Manta Carlos after receiving an acceptace letter.
Kasa was born in 1510 near the present day Utah / Arizona border, 30 years before the Spanish had contact with them to a Human father and a Skinwalker mother who pretended to be human. She lived the average Navajo (Diné) lifestyle. She was a simple farmer, married to a lovely hunter at 18 and had a child at 20. Around the time she was 26 was when the Spanish had made their way to their territories When her tribe started to see more tense relations with the Spaniards three years later is when she started to seek spirits for aid and assistance. Around this is when she learned from her mother her Skinwalker ancestry and together they would cover for each other as they played tricks on Spanish troops that tried to come close to their tribe.
One night there was a confrontation between the Spanish and Diné that led to a battle. Kasa, her 10-year-old son, and mother escaped to the south; her husband lost his life along with many others in the fight with the Spaniards.
Two days later she ended up with the Hopi at what later would be called Oraibi village. They stayed there for a few days before setting up a home a small distance from the rest of the village so they could use their Skinwalker skills with little worry and teach her son. It is around this time she made contact with the spirit Ma'ii - Coyote. The Trickster spirit offered her a small increase of life for every time she played tricks against the colonists to scare them away and protect her people; a bit apprehensive at first, but with enough pushing and convincing by Coyote (who was mostly just bored and was just looking for someone to make things interesting) she accepted his deal.
She would play tricks with the abilities she had on the Spanish soldiers and Jesuits for many years while her family lived outside the Hopi Village; seeing her mother passed away, her son grow into a strong young man, marry and have kids of his own and eventually passing away as well. She would remain on the outskirts, people in the village thinking she had died long ago, secretly keeping watch over her family until she was separated from them during the turn of the 18th century when many Hopi were relocated into missions.
She continued to induce havoc among Spanish troops and towns, eventually American ones as well for most of her life before she slowly started to introduce herself into their society by traveling back North. Studying from afar, being forced into a mission, escaping, doing plantation farmwork, even being part of the Apache exhibit on the Chicago World Fair (not proud of it, but desperate for the cash.) Eventually, she becomes adjusted to American life, having gone to school and college. She has just recently moved to Manta Carlos from California after receiving a job offer to their Starlight Academy.

Skinwalkers originally came to be from performing an evil act while dabbling into black magic; while one can still become a Skinwalker this way, most are Skinwalkers from having it passed on by a parent.
