Trees were great. Vex liked trees. Trees would have been nice while she'd been the big stripy cat, but as little flufferbutt trees were a different sort of great, and the trees were here now! So that was great. Trees, trees, trees, so many trees! Big trees, mostly. There hadn't been itty bitty trees for a while. Ooh ooh! A bush! With all sorts of interesting fur fluffs caught on the thorns.
Vex wiggled underneath, still closer to walking than crawling, with some ear-care so as to not get hooked on anything stabby. Stabby wasn't good.
Oooooooh water! Vex splashed through the cricklet, bright-cold right up to his ribs and tickling throat and squishy under-chin, and then sand shifted to pebbly rock and a stocky yellow rocket powered up onto the far bank to shake rainbows into the shadows. A few scrubs on tree bark, some squirming on scrubby grass for back and belly, and Vex's fur was super spiky and flecked with debris but not quite dripping anymore.
On into the dark! There were so many interesting smells. How could he even start to follow them all?
