It was rather late in the afternoon, spring had sprung but it was still a little chilly outside. Gwyn sat at his favorite cafe sipping a cup of coffee. Something that may have seemed like an odd choice given him being known for having a sweet tooth. But then, he was many things that surprised most people due in part to his mischievous disposition. The fae/dragon hybrid however was in a bit more of a serious mood on this day in particular. Complications in his love life were becoming cause for concern. Aricia, his lover seemed to have the world falling around her. There had to be something he could do for her, the depression wasn't helping her very much at all. So he waited, opting to come to a reasonable solution to help her. Though it wasn't a matter of what to do, but how to go about doing it. Then he also had some news of his own to share with her as well.

He took a long sip and glanced around nervously, waiting for her to show up.

Waking up today was a struggle. If it wasn't for Gwynny, Aricia would have never woke up. She would have stayed in bed for the entire day, perhaps several days. She couldn't bring herself to really do anything anymore. She was even starting to act pathetically, like chugging down loads of wine and then cutting herself with her many knives. She hoarded more knives recently just to indulge in her terrible self-harm habits. The sensation of blood loss from a clean cut on the limbs delighted her in short bursts. There was that enjoyment one moment, and then it quickly faded away to the void that was her emotional state.

The blood dragon's smile looked particularly forced today as she arrived at the cafe. Gwynny was already there drinking coffee. She felt a pounding headache. It was a hangover from all of the wine she drank. She even vaguely remembered sobbing her eyes out as she laid on a bed of blades. She might have sent Gwynny a message or ten. She couldn't really remember. She sat down in the seat across. Her grin twitched uncomfortably as she kept trying to force herself to appear happy. Or at least like she wasn't a total trainwreck right now.

"Gwynnnnyyy~"

She forced herself not to yawn. Despite how perfect her makeup and hair was, she literally only woke up like a half hour ago. She couldn't bring herself to not look her best. She could feel her mother yanking her hair for not being in tip-top form. She hid the temporary bags under her eyes with foundation and mascara. Thankfully her eyes were always red, so she didn't have to worry so much about that front.

"It is so great to see you! I love you, Gwynny!"

It was taking literally all of her existing power to even bring up a fraction of her usual bubbly nature. This was just not working.

His ears perked a bit at the sound of his name. Normally he'd fly up and into her arms(chest) without a second thought but he couldn't this time.
She sounded happy, but he knew better than that. Especially as he watched her approach him and took her seat. Everything was done just right to hide any appearances that she frankly looked like crap And that greeting kind of sounded like crap, frankly. He knew it was because she didn't want to burden him with her problems, but by not telling him anything she was stressing him even more. The fakeness was painful to say the least. Who even talked like this? The glass dragon fae had to help her break the cycle.

"Hey there Ari. I love you too," he smiled at her. He was happy to see her up and about at the very least. He'd drag her around town and home with him if he had to. Now he just needed to get her to open up and tell him what was up. He wouldn't just lay into her though, he loved her too much to do that. And she was already halfway being treated like a child by her own family.

"How are you really feeling Ari?" there was a hint of genuine concern in his voice. He took another sip of his coffee. There was really no reason not to cut right to the chase. she was hurting too much for him to simply sit by and do nothing.

Aricia's smile faltered almost immediately as he asked how she was feeling. He could see right through her, couldn't he? No amount of makeup or fake smiles would hide this depression. Her metal claws tapped nervously on the table as she thought about an answer. Where to start? She felt her insides about to explode from the emotions bottled up with her. She couldn't take the poison plaguing her system. She needed to let the venom out because it made her sick. She could practically vomit and have it not be from the hangover. However, this meant opening up to someone she never wanted to upset. She found herself looking nervously into her lover's eyes.

"I...am not okay."

Her lips lightly shivered as she softly uttered the words. Tiredness seeped into her expression as her eyes narrowed. She allowed her tired eye lids to relax instead of forcing them to be wide open. She ordered a quadruple shot latte with lots of sugar. Clearly she was not doing so well.

"Gwynny....I don't feel comfortable talking here."

Despite no one paying attention to them, she felt a sense of paranoia. As if all of the eyes around her were staring at her. Judging her. Seeing how much of a damaged clown she was. She hated that feeling. She wanted to cling to Gwynny somewhere where it was safe. She went back to forcing a smile as she received her order. They didn't need to know the inner workings of her torment. Only her lover needed to know that.

Before, her thoughts were to hide it from him. Now? Anything to stop this horrible feeling inside of her.

His expression became more serious when he got his answer. The good news was she took the first step in telling him that much at least. He was anticipating further explanation, but she was hesitating to say what it was. The table he'd picked was somewhat isolated in the sense that no one else was around it however there were still people in the cafe. Their location was more private in the sense that one could spill petty gossip about a mutual friend. Aricia's troubles were definitely not best discussed here, the latte confirmed that much. He was just about to offer going somewhere else she asked him.

"I'll go wherever you want."

He stood up from his chair and lifted himself off the ground with his wings. His hovering was notably less energetic than usual. A sign of his own mood and feelings regarding the current situation. He glanced around before taking her hand to lead her out of the cafe. Regardless of the situation though he'd stick by her through it all. That's what a decent lover does. He paused for a moment however as his thoughts suddenly hopped to something else.

"Er...should we leave after they make you your latte? You really look like you need that," his bright blue eyes darted about as they often did when focus was broken. But they finally focused on her awaiting a response.
