Double Axel, Anyone?

Whisp was excited, she hadn’t been at school long and had already found a person with similar interest. She ice surfed all the way to the skating rink to get there faster after she was sure she knew the way. There was just something exciting about sharing the thing you liked with someone else. She had thoroughly enjoyed watching musicals with Huilu and hoped this would be like that. She walked in to the ice rink, having brought her own skates started to look for Azuncena.

Once she spotted her she walked over to her “Azuncena!” She called out waving and walking over confidently. She might’ve been a bit new to life outside her community but this was something she knew inside and out. “Im glad you could make it.” She sat down on the bench and started to change into her skates.

Whisp nodded “Yeah, I got directions on my phone it was pretty straight forward.” She probably would’ve gotten lost had it not been for google maps. Then again she could’ve flew around until she found it.

She looked down at her skates “These ones were a gift from my dad.” Whisp didn’t understand the whole skating outfit thing. She assumed that people would dress warmer to be in a cold environment but from what she’d seen on Tv they put on less. She herself didn’t have on a jacket or anything to keep warm. She didn’t cold at all.

“You could save up? Though I admittedly dont understand the point if the flashy outfits.” She finished lacing up her skates and stood up, remember to keep the rubbers on the blades.

Whisp nodded, leg warmers and skates seemed like a good think to save up for. She'd never actually tried to wear leg warmers, she assumed there were something that went under your normal pants. "If it's expensive it might be made of material that doesn't rip easily when scrapped across ice. Either way, maybe you could make one?"

She nodded excitedly, taking the rubbers off her blades and stepping onto the ice. She was very careful not add extra ice on top of the ice already there. "Besides skating what kind of things do you like?" She asked Azucena curiously. She was skating backward so as to look at the other girl while she was talking to her. This was a bit different than she was used to but it was the generally the same.

Whisp nodded, she of course still didn’t underatand the whole thing but she’d support thenpther girl. She was much more interested in getting into things outside her comfort zone. Ice skating was fine, but she did that back home. “Oh my gosh, I love romance novels! It more so now that there are more accurate supernatural ones found here. There was this one book about the love story between a dragon and a member of some Fae court. It was great.” She didn’t exaclty know how she felt about that. A lot of people back home felt dragons shouldn’t date outside the community.

She tried to think of the band Azucena mentioned, it might’ve been a demon. “I’m sure I heard of them although I think the leader is a demon. I think at least. I haven’t really listened to much music.” She smiled excitedly at her trick, she was glad she had met someone skilled in her favorite sport. “Have you tried water surfing? I saw a few videos and I want to know if it’s as fun as it looks?”

Whisp nodded in agreement. The island was definitely home to some strange romance novels. She would be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy it completely. “Camping sounds like fun though, anyways If you’re not the type to get cold easily I was thinking of learning now. I understand if you’re not interested seeing as you might grt super cold.” She had to constantly remind herself that not everyone was immune to cold. Even dragons from her community got cold.

She quickly looked around to make sure no one was close to them begore skating a bit closer to the other girl. “Do you have your eye on anyone cute?”
