Don't Look Back in Anger

Gabe didn't think Bill was supposed to be drinking the beer, considering he was under twenty one but Gabe would be a hypocrite if he gave out to someone for underage drinking. He'd done it all the time when he was in high school and his early years of college.

Of course he still drank quite often but now he was legal. He thought perhaps he might grab himself one, but then he remembered that it probably wasn't good for him to drink for a couple hours after an outburst like earlier, just in case it stirred up any negative emotions again. When he was drunk and angry it was next to impossible to control his powers.

"Let's go to the bed, the mattress is nice and soft." Even if it was small, it was comfy. Gabe loved cuddling in bed with William, or doing whatever. Gabe took Bill's hand, even though it was only a couple steps over to the bedroom area, the dorm really was tiny. "Sleeping doesn't sound too good at the moment anyway," it was a rare sound to hear Gabriel Black talking about not wanting to sleep, generally he loved his sleep but right now he just wanted to spend time awake with Bill.

Gabe hoped the boy would open up soon, if not he might end up having to force it into a conversation. A private one of course, but a conversation nonetheless. He couldn't let whatever it was completely destroy Bill on the inside.

<div align=center>William grabbed Gabe's wrist of the hand he was holding the can in and took another sip from it. He shook his head a little, sleeping was a bad idea. He did want to curl up in bed though, if Gabriel could keep him from going to sleep anyway. Bill didn't think that'd be hard, Gabe could talk for hours if needs be, William would listen to him, he might not answer, but he'd certainly listen. He liked listening. "Don't let me fall asleep will you, babe?" He asked softly, falling sideways onto Gabe's shoulder and frowning a little. He was quiet for a few moments after that, his mind wandering somewhere else.

"I'll come with you when you go." He stated softly, a smile replaced the frown, and William sat up straight again, "I swear! I'll... I'll get better, okay?" He clasped Gabe's hand, staring up at him. "I promise! I'll stop being scared all the time.. And I'll stop being sad and I'll sort out my head and everything will be okay!" He sounded so excited about the prospect that the notion was more or less believable. "We can leave and get out of this place..." He beamed at the older boy, clutching his hand ever tighter and giggling softly.</div>

"I'll try not to tell you any boring stories in that case," Gabe laughed, "that would make you go asleep." He promised he'd try keep poor Bill awake though, "I always feel guilty though when you get sleepy and I've to try wake you, even though I know you want me to cause you asked me."

Gabe shook his head at himself a little, "why do I talk so much when I'm awful at articulating what I'm trying to say?" He stuck out his tongue at Bill. "I think you understand me for the most part though, which I really appreciate." Even though Bill was probably the person who called Gabe an idiot the most out of everyone, he also made Gabe feel like his thoughts and ideas were valued more than anyone else did.

'I'll come with you when you go.' "That'd be perfect!" Gabe smiled, he'd love that. Just William and himself against the world. His heart warmed when William promised to get better, he wanted the boy to get better more than anything in the world, he hated seeing the boy so down and upset. "I believe in you, William. I really really do. You can do this, okay?"

Gabe wasn't really considering the practicalities of the whole thing though, when he left the academy poor Bill'd only be in his early years of university classes and Gabe didn't want him to lose out on a degree, just to spend time with him. He didn't feel it'd be right to tear the poor boy away from his education, but this was all still a long way down the line in Gabe's eyes.

<div align=center>William's plan was completely impractical but he didn't think about that at the time, he didn't want to think about that. He'd found a solution to the future and if that meant pulling himself out of education early then he didn't really care. He was young and in love, stupid decisions could be regretted later and ignored for now. He shifted a little, taking the can from Gabriel and taking another short series of sips from it. He placed it on the coffee table this time and climbed into his boyfriends lap, wrapping both arms around his neck and smiling softly at him. "Hello." He chirped.

Bill had seemingly successfully pushed every dark thought away that he might have had a moment ago, or at least behaved like he had. Gabriel had only excited the boy further, and all of a sudden he was absolutely determined for this plan to work, and it very likely would if he stuck to his promise of making himself better.

However, whether he really would or not was a different matter entirely, he was excited now, but when it came down to it the boy would most likely shrink away from whoever tried to help him and end up hiding away somewhere again. Leave it for now. William settled forward and tucked his head against Gabe's chest, shifting and pulling his knees up. "Thank you for looking after me." He mumbled, "you're awfully good at it, you know."</div>

Gabe didn't really focus on the impracticalities either, he wanted everything to work out smoothly and the fact that it had brought a smile to Bill's face meant he didn't want to say anything that would cause the boy to realise it probably wouldn't be the best idea. For now they'd both go along with it, until reality hit them.

"Hey there," Gabe smiled into the top of the boy's head. He moved one of his hands to Bill's arms, loosening their grip around his neck ever so slightly, he'd been finding it hard to breathe. "That's better, now I can see your pretty face." Gabe grinned, and pressed a soft kiss to Bill's lips.

Gabe could tell that William was excited at the prospect of making himself better and while he wasn't sure the boy would end up following through he decided it'd be best to leave it for now. He had to put some faith in his boyfriend, he believed that some time down the line Bill would get better. Although he hoped it was sooner rather than later.

"Hey man don't worry about it," Gabe promised, wrapping his arms around the boy's back to make sure he didn't fall backwards. "I like looking after you, you make it worth it." He smiled, "I'm always afraid I'm doing an awful job... so it means a lot to hear that."

Gabe could tell that poor Bill was starting to get sleepy. It had been a long and emotional day for the both of them and Gabe thought it was best they get into bed. If they slept or not it didn't matter to him, Bill had mentioned that he didn't want to sleep.

However Gabe didn't doubt that they'd be asleep within the hour. "C'mon Bill, let's get to bed." He held on tight to the boy as he stood up, and then he carried Bill over and put him down softly on the bed. He climbed in beside him and pressed a kiss to the boy's cheek, before cuddling in close. For now, everything was perfect.
