"Rhys?", by his gestures, Symlink was thinking of whether he knew them or not. If so, how did they enter his dream? Speaking of... "Here? This is Sincrysta. A village of a world inside my dreams. This is not the first time I have this kind of dream, but it is the first time I meet someone who is not a NPC.", he explained, pointing to a floating text box with the village's name.

Rhys kept their arms up against their chest in confusion and minor anxiety as they looked at the floating words that Symlink pointed out. "A dream... so that must mean i'm in your dream? But I wasn't sleeping. I just saw a tablet and wanted to move it so no one broke it. And then I was here."

They looked baffled by the whole thing. "But if I can keep you from feeling lonely that's a good thing right?" They smiled, resolving their anxiety as they discovered a way to be useful here.

Symlink couldn't help but think if someone connected people to his dream somehow, and Rhys happened to find their way in it. "A tablet...? I didn't see any tablet before sleeping. Maybe someone put it there?", he just looked more puzzled, as his tail turned into a question mark instinctively.

Smiling as well at what Rhys said, he nodded and his tail turned into an exclamation mark. "Yep! Plus I will be going into an adventure, it's always fun with more people, right?", the reason Symlink thought so was because he and his father played games together, even if one or the other took the back seat.

Rhys also had no answers. And they probably wouldn't have them until they returned to... reality? Wakefulness? They had no idea how this worked at all.

"I haven't ever been on an adventure but I do think having another person would be more fun, if you like the person." They looked at Symlink's rather expressive tail and then glanced at their own, wondering if tails worked differently here. Their tail flicked some but failed to do anything quite as dramatic as making a sign of punctuation. Their ears flattened just a little at that. "I would be happy to help you with your adventure if I can. I like to be helpful."

"Hang on, let's go to the guest room I was at.", but by the time Symlink finished talking the secret passage had closed, he looked at it and then up to the window. "Well, I can use a shortcut.", since this was his dream, his world, he simply made a ladder appear and went up it to the room. "It's okay to come in here. The king won't mind.", he waved Rhys over from the window, and should Rhys follow in there... Would notice how simple the room is: wardrobe, single bed, desk, and a pot full of water.

Rhys eyed the ladder with nervousness but dutifully followed their new acquaintance. Slowly and carefully, as they lacked much in the way of upper body strength. When they did finally make it up into the room their gaze passed over the various furnishings and quickly nodded. They stayed by the window but just off to the side so as to not interfere or block Symlink from doing whatever it was they were up to.

It looked a lot like the way their dorm room was currently laid out- clean, with basic necessities but little in the way of decoration. "If you live here are you some kind of royalty? I'm sorry for not addressing you by your title but I don't know a lot about this place."

"Hm, no, this is the guest's room. Because the adventure's guild is out to protect a caravan, the only way for me to progress is with His Majesty's blessings. This is actually different from how it went last time, and Her Majesty wasn't part of the other dream I had.", Symlink didn't sound puzzled at all, since his dream was basically his playground...

Rhys nodded and nodded, pretending like all of that made perfect sense to them. No reason to make waves by letting this person know they didn't totally understand. Especially since they were the guest of royalty!

Rhys relaxed their arms down to their side and their long tail flicked lightly behind them. "Is there something I can do to help you? I like being useful and you seem to be trying to get ready to do something."

"Well, you agreed to join me in this adventure, that is already great enough.", he answered simply, without a second thought. After all, what else could they do in this dream? Truth be told... "There are some other things, hm... Hang on... What class do you want to be? For me you look like you could be ranger, rogue, wizard, cleric... To be honest, so am I, I'm classed as a wizard.", a floating text box appeared with the possible class options for Rhys.

Rhys was again quite bewildered by the text boxes and general video game logic to how this world seemed to work. Or dream. They said this was a dream.

Rhys read each option carefully and then looked back up at Symlink. "Im good at dancing and singing and languages and I dont need to sleep. Which kne of these do you think makes sense. Or would help you more?"
